Global warming? No
Communists are behind the climate change movement; the Earth goes through periods of warming, cooling.

This movement has become a religion and the faithful will never listen to logic and/or reason. Most are not aware that this movement is an anti-capitalist, anti-free enterprise movement. It has nothing to do with climate change but everything to do with weakening America. When the Berlin wall fell in the late '80s, the communists had no where to go but soon found that the environmentalists were getting a foothold with our political leaders. It has become the perfect venue to alarm the folks on doom and gloom. The sad thing is that most people buying into this madness are so emotional and unwilling to listen to reason, that any conversation or contradiction is met with scorn and halted. My conclusion is that these folks are sadly misinformed and if common sense doesn't come into play soon, we will cripple our economy and a millions of people will be hurt beyond repair. You will see food shortages, fuel shortages and a depression that will dwarf the 1930s.

Here are a few questions to ask these true believers.

What is the perfect temperature for the earth?

(Article continues below)

All you get from this question is a blank look. The answer is that from the earth's beginning the temperature has always been changing.

How many times has the earth's climate changed in the past?

Again, you get an eye roll and a disdainful comment. According to an article by Derek Kelly, Ph.D., published by the Free Republic in 2005, the following is a snapshot of how the climate has changed in the past.

There is not a definite answer, but experts believe that the climate has changed from 17 to 33 times in the last 2 to 3 million years with glaciations periods lasting about 100,000 years followed by warm periods that last about 10,000 years. About 15,000 years ago global warming started and it took about 9,000 years to melt the ice that covered much of North America and Canada. This was not a small sheet of ice, it was hundreds of meters thick and covered states like Ohio, Indiana, Minnesota and North Dakotas. The reason for this warming period is unknown.

Six thousand years ago the earth's temperature was about three degrees warmer than today. The Arctic Ocean was ice-free and mountain glaciers had disappeared from Norway, the Alps and the Rocky Mountains. The oceans were some three meters higher that today.

From about 4,000 years ago to 900 A.D. global cooling begins. The Arctic freezes over and the glaciers return to the Rocky Mountains, Alps and the Black Sea freezes over several times. The sea levels dropped to about what they are today. The earth was about .5 to 1 degree cooler than present.

From 1000 A.D. to 1500 A.D. had a quick, but uneven, warming of the climate of the Northern Hemisphere. The temperatures were about three to eight degrees warmer than today. The 11th to the 13th century was much warmer than what the alarmists are predicting today. The reason for this warming is unknown.

From around 1430 to 1880 we had periods of fast but uneven cooling in the Northern Hemisphere. This was the period of the mini ice age and 1816 was the year with no summer in the New England area. It even snowed in June and they had widespread crop failure. The reason for this cooling is unknown.

From 1880 to 1940 was a period of warming. Mountain glaciers recede and the ice in the Arctic Ocean begin to melt. What caused this period of warming? No one seems to know.

From 1940 to 1977 is a period of cooling and the alarmists tell us that we are in a new glaciations period and we are all doomed. What caused this cooling?

From 1977 to 2003 is a warming period and we start hearing of global warming and carbon dioxide is the cause. Wow, isn't that amazing that carbon dioxide is now the reason, but we don't know what caused the other warming periods. But remember it must fit the model of greenhouse gases or it doesn't work for the movement. Anyone see any problems with this logic? The fact is that the current carbon dioxide levels in our atmosphere are at historic lows. This should be our concern, not that we have a carbon dioxide problem. If carbon dioxide continues to decline, then that could lead to some very tough times ahead.

From 2003 to present we are in a slight cooling period, but you wouldn't know it from our media coverage. Remember, global warming or now climate change is a religion for some and for the founders is a route to harm the USA. All one has to do is research the history of this movement and it's easy to see the fall of communism and the failure of socialism are at the roots of this movement. If our leaders cave to the pressure being put forth, then we are in deep trouble. Just look at what our leaders of the last 30 years have done to our energy situation. We are in a crisis today because we let these types of groups dictate our policies. Think of this for a moment! We sit on more oil reserves than is in the Middle East, Europe and South America combined, but our government has made it illegal for us to retrieve it. That's right -- illegal to retrieve our own natural resources. How stupid is that to punish low- and middle-income Americans with $4 a gallon for gas just to preserve their power. This didn't have to happen, but with our current leadership and political situation, I don't see any changes coming. The American people best wake up and let the leaders know that we are mad as hell and they will be out by the next election if something isn't done. That is the only way to get these folks' attention. Threaten their power and they will do what is needed for the common people.

If you are caught up in this climate change movement, you best rethink you position. After all, it's pretty arrogant of man to think he can change the universe and pretty stupid of man to think that the climate has never changed before. A sobering thought is that 90 percent of the last several million years has had glaciations and warming only 10 percent of the time. Odds are it will get cold before it gets warm. One needs to get real on this issue because if we don't, then your kids and grandkids are going to be the ones that pay the price. The price will be very ugly and America will be no more!
