Some in Democracy Now are promoting the company line on the events transpiring in the country of Libya. Some accuse Democracy Now of pushing the State Department and Pentagon line on Libya instead of showing the truth irrespective of how popular it is to people. Some of their Libyan correspondents are embedded with U.S. backed Libyan rebels whereas they ignore the real issues there. The real issues are reports of ethnic cleansing in Libya and the mercenaries. Have Democracy Now's correspondents in Libya, Anjali Kamat and Sharif Abdel-Kodous minimized or avoided reporting upon the persecution of black Libyans and sub-Saharan African migrants in by US-backed Libyan rebels? There are US and NATO bombings of Libya. There are Saudi, Qatari, and other foreign forces in the ground in Libya. There are ¼ to almost one half of the people in Libya being black Libyans. There are reports of all-black towns in Libya which have been wiped off the map by the Libyan rebels and their allies. Our own Cynthia McKinney has visited the families of some who were lynched --- hanged by jeering mobs that used their cell phones to record the ghastly spectacle. Some of the videos of these lynching acts were still on YouTube as late as last week. Democracy Now has reported on the persecution of migrants and black Libyans. Yet, the news coverage of it has decreased. There has been no conclusive evidence that Muammar Kaddafi used a massive amount of mercenaries to fight in that Libyan war. One time in about 20 years ago, that the U.S. trained and supplied Indonesian army was on a genocidal rampage through East Timor. Over 1/3 of the East Timor people were killed with the support of the White House, Pentagon, and some in the corporate media. Even Amy Goodman reported on this story. Dahr Jamail, and other journalists exposed the Iraq War corruptions (including white phosphorous being shown in houses and civilians being shot at in the city of Fallujah of Iraq).What is going on in Libya is not just. Left Gatekeepers have been complicit in ignoring 9/11 Truth (and opposing even an independent investigation on the events of 9/11), the Libyan atrocities by the rebels, etc.
There is the famous African named Wangari Mathai who recently passed away at the age of 71. She was an environmental activist and a human rights promoter. She was the first woman from Africa to win the Nobel Peace Prize. He passed away from cancer. She founded the Green Belt Movement for more than 30 years. This is about a tree planting campaign in order to fight against deforestation and to give locals (especially women and girls) access to resources like firewood for cooking and clean water. They have planted more than 40 million trees. She was a mother, a professor, a relative, a co-worker, a colleague, a role model, and a heroine. She desired peace, determination, and a more peaceful world to live in. She was born in Nyeri, Kenya in April 1, 1940. She was the first woman in East and Central Africa to earn a doctorate degree. She was elected to Kenya’s parliament with an overwhelming 98% of the vote. Time Magazine back in 2005 honored her as one of 100 most influential people in the world. Maathai linked human rights, poverty, environmental protection, and security into one theme. She told people to not give up and to persist in continuing life. She leaves behind 3 children and a granddaughter.
Once again, Kurt Nimmo is sold to the lie of Austrian Economics. He claims that Austrian Economics is anti-N.W.O. when it isn’t. Austrian Economics was created by the big bankers as a means to get well meaning conservatives to accept unregulated, unbridled capitalism. To Nimmo, promoting labor rights and a sense of government intervention in any sense is equivalent to socialism. That’s a lie since the Constitution gives the federal government the right to intervene in certain circumstances of daily life in the USA. He mocks a signs saying people before profits. Then, he goes on a tirade about twenty dollars a hour for a minimum wage. Some may disagree with this number, but it’s a fact that our wage levels have decrease precipitately since the late 1970’s. If our wages are fine, then why do we have record unemployment and record poverty in America? Also, a slight increase in wages will not hurt real businesses if they have legitimate funding. Also, fighting solutions to problems isn’t equivalent to placing someone under gunpoint at all. An universal single payer healthcare system worked in Scandinavia and other European nations. They have a better living standard and a better HDI (or human development index) than America. Our current corporate health care system isn’t working at all to insure the uninsured and to give true health care to all citizens. At a bare minimum, we should have a public option available for anyone that needs health care. Nimmo forgets that the Post Office is mentioned in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution, so he mocks it shows his ignorance of the Constitution. Not all regulations are evil. Some regulations are fine. Our health care system isn’t improving because of monopolies or eliminating competition completely, but because of corporate corruption as well. Nimmo mocks infrastructure funding when that is found in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution to give Congress the power to build roads, bridges, etc. Building up forests and our resources is also constitutional. I don’t believe in an one world government system, but I do believe in compassion for the sojourner and the immigrant. Exposing corporate greed isn’t a part of class warfare. Class warfare is when the top 1 percent has record profits. Wall Street was given subsidies and Nimmo’s ilk yells about entitlements for the poor (Head Start, Medicaid, S-CHIP, and other social safety net programs that will help the poor ought to be protected strongly).
I like Jesus Christ’s revolutionary style. The Four Gospels document his life and he was strong enough to stand up against the injustices occurring in the Roman Empire. Jesus preached good news for the poor since he promoted freedom for the poor. Jesus wanted the captives released, the downtrodden freed from oppressors, and to heal the brokenhearted. This is found in Luke 4:18. 2 of the greatest commandments from Jesus don’t deal with tax breaks for the super rich, environmental pollution, nor war mongering. It’s to love God with all of your heart, soul, and mind and to love your neighbor as yourself. This means loving your neighbor if he or she is hungry, thirsty, sick, homeless, etc. This is when given money to the homeless, helping the hurting, and using discernment to possess compassion for other human beings period. It is blessed who are poor, the mournful, the merciful, the peacemakers, and the meek. When you have 3 billion people on Earth living on less than 2 dollars day and 1 billion people living on less than 1 dollar a day, then we have a serious poverty problem that ought to be addressed comprehensively. Luke shows people sharing coats to people who need it. Today, establishment figure exploit the message of Jesus to promote greed, profit alone, and the prosperity gospel. Jesus inspired many people to sell all of their wealth to give it to the poor. Jesus wouldn’t support unfair discrimination, outsourcing jobs overseas, the record people in America without health coverage, high number of imprisonment of Americans than any nation on Earth, etc. Being hated by the world has been the existence of real prophets, Jesus Christ, and other authentic leaders spanning the eons of time. Even Jesus preferred the humble and honest tax collector than the self righteous church Pharisee type. The oppression of the poor by the rich has been one part of the OT and NT including the words of Jesus Christ. It’s hypocritical to condemn welfare for the poor, but promote free trade agreements including subsidies for the rich.
Abortion advocates vandalize pro-life displays after arrests. Arrests have been made related to initial vandalism of a pro-life display on the campus of the University of Buffalo. Yet, that hasn’t stopped abortion advocates from vandalizing the cross display again. A pro-life display was destroyed by vandals for a second time these years. 2 of the vandals involved have been arrested. In May, the University of Buffalo Students for Life (UBSFL) saw their pro-life display vandalized by pro-abortion criminals. They’ve attacked one of the group’s first events called their Cemetery of the Innocents Display featuring crosses meant to memorialize the 53 million unborn children who have been killed in abortions. Phil Eddy, a regional coordinator for Students for Life of America, indicated the display was vandalized again when Buffalo students put it up this semester. Eddy says pro-life advocates are shocked that one of the campus police officers indicated one of the students arrested may be charged with a hate crime for attacking the pro-life display. Today, Eddy said the arrests have done nothing to stop abortion backers from vandalizing the display once again. “Well it looks like abortion advocates have had a busy day at University of Buffalo. A total of eight individuals were caught vandalizing the Cemetery of the Innocents display this afternoon, and a disturbing scene is reported to have unfolded,” he said in a post on the web site of Students for Life of America. “Students from UB Students for Life were keeping a watchful eye on the display throughout the day, and at one point they witnessed a small group of angry women forming at the display. Two began to rip up the crosses, and someone described as “older, at least 40 years old, and possibly a faculty member” reportedly yelled “Hey ladies, let’s start a riot.” This incited six more people to begin tearing up crosses, and they continued until campus police arrived.” Eddy said that Jake DiVeronica is facing criminal charges. Many of these criminals have anti-religious views and try to bully pro-life people all of the time. It’s illegal and it’s a violation of free speech. Kristan Hawkins, the president of Students for Life of America, is working closely with the student pro-life group to provide help and support. “This is not the first time students at the University of Buffalo or across the country have been targeted with violence for their beliefs,” she said. “Truly, this group is making an impact on their campus. I am so proud of Sara and the UB Students for Life group for standing strong in the face of such overwhelming adversity.” She said SFLA is working on “getting Phil up to Buffalo as soon as possible to be there to support them in case they face backlash, which we are expecting, from the school administration. And we are also planning a follow-up event to show the University of Buffalo that pro-life students are strong and will NOT let their beliefs be swayed by a group of cowards.”
