Friday Facts

This is a very important article. This story should be told nationwide plus worldwide. Greg Palast has done great work in exposing not only Republican corruption, but VOTING fraud issues as well (like the evil voter suppression in Florida back during the 2000 election). Greg Palast is famous for his investigative reporting. The protection of voting rights is necessity in society. People deserve the truth involving this situation. There should be an independent investigation and the protection of the voting rights in general. The truth is that many people have the same name in multiple states. People should be outraged at this situation. It is obvious that Republicans want to increase their political power and this voter purge is a devious, slick action of GOP extremists. Both major parties have been funded by corporate dollars. We should VOTE our interests as we should. The black collective have experienced high unemployment rates for generations. I have hope for the future, but I balance my hope with realism. At the end of the day, many of these politicians look out for themselves and their political futures instead of the masses of all of the people. I have also notice how many of President’s white Democratic “allies” are distancing themselves from him to appeal to white anti-Obama voters. We must deal with facts and reality. One of the reasons why we have experience economic troubles is because of bad trade deals that shipped jobs overseas to be replaced heavily with low wage jobs. The zenith of our modern economy in America has been the late 1960’s and the early 1970’s. Then, a growth of economic inequality persists and millions of manufacturing jobs have been gone. Also, the labor movement must be reinvigorated. Back during the GREAT DEPRESSION, hundreds of labor strikes existed in America alone. The labor movement back then was much more powerful than today. One problem we see is that private interest groups have controlled most of our economy, politics, etc. So, there must be ways to develop manufacturing jobs more (in America) and tax policies must be radically changed to benefit the poor and middle class.

Caribbean nationhood and Caribbean history indeed has been made up of a combination of revolutionary actions and many other social changes. For centuries, European imperialists dominated the region. Later, Caribbean people stood up for their legitimate social and political freedom via rebellions, protests, and other real sacrifices. The imperialists were not just British, French, Spanish, or Portuguese people. They also were from the Netherlands and even from Scandinavia for a time. Spain, France, and the UK dominated the Caribbean in their imperialist actions. The Thirty Years’ War, the Anglo-Dutch Wars, and other European wars dealt with factions competing for the resources in Caribbean as well. The heroic slave rebellions were made up of people who wanted to end slavery, colonialism, and other scourges. Escaped slaves called the Maroons fought for freedom in the Greater Antilles and some islands of the Lesser Antilles. Some survived in Saint Vincent and Dominica. Others live of course in Jamaica, Hispaniola, Guadeloupe, and Cuba. Jamaica and Cuba had strong slave uprisings. They or the slave liberation movements increased from the 1500’s to the 19th century. Haiti was the first Caribbean nation to get independence from European imperialists in 1804. To this day, we should always respect Haiti for its courage against injustice. Haiti is the world’s first and oldest black republic in the Western Hemisphere. The Dominican Republic declared its independence by 1844. The spirit of independence spread. Cuba and Puerto Rico fought for independence throughout the 19th century. The Spanish American War came in 1898. America defeated Spain. Cuba attained its independence in 1902 and Puerto Rico became an unincorporated territory of America. During the 20th century, the United States had a more active role in the Caribbean. The U.S. government was wrong to occupy Haiti and the Dominican Republic during the 20th century. The U.S. invaded and occupied the Dominican Republic and Haiti for 19 years from 1915 to 1934. Even President Lyndon Baines Johnson allowed the U.S. military to invade the Dominican Republic in 1965 as a means to suppress a local, progressive uprising against military rule. He used “Communism” as an excuse to use this militarist action. To this day, the U.S. maintains a naval military base in Cuba at Guantanamo Bay. This base deals with the Latin American and Caribbean region. Many Caribbean island achieved independence as well in their own right. Jamaica became independent by 1962, Trinidad & Tobago in 1962, Barbados in 1966, Bahamas in 1973, Grenada in 1974, Dominica in 1978, St. Lucia in 1979, St. Vincent in 1979, Antigua & Barbuda in 1981, and in St. Kitts & Nevis by 1983. Belize got its freedom in 1981. Guyana became free in 1966. Suriname established its independence in 1975. Now, we know many places in the Caribbean exist under European or American control. In the early 21st century today, many territories controlled by the British include the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Bermuda, etc. Guadeloupe and Martinique are French overseas regions or a legal status that they had since 1946. This is an unique arrangement. The deal is that the citizens in both islands are considered full French citizens. They have the same legal rights, but they are not independent nations.

There is a lot more information on the American Security Council. The American Security Council wanted to fight communism. It has been reported that the ASC had information on 6 million human beings. They profiled Americans because of political beliefs, which is by definition anti-democratic. One famous person in the ASC was retired Rear Admiral Chester C. Ward. He supported massive defense spending as in a book (published by him and the Dame of Malta Phyllis Schlafy) in their book “The Gravediggers.” In 1974, both of them published the best-seller “Kissinger on the Couch” criticizing Kissinger’s policy of détente and claimed that he was an instrument of the Soviets. The ASC’s book was very similar to the John Birch Society’s books. Some directors of the Citizens Committee for a Free Cuba or CCFC were ASC board members Edward Teller and Claire Boothe Luce. It is well know that the conservatives of the American Security Council and other related groups were against President John F. Kennedy’s Limited Test Ban Treaty and Kissinger’s proposals of détente including the Strategic Arms Reduction Talks. The ASC believed in the paranoid fiction that diplomatic efforts for détente was part of a Soviet ran, grand “communoscialist” conspiracy created to rule America. Even General Douglas MacArthur pushed for the use of nuclear weapons against North Korea and China. Even Truman thought that he went too far. Members like Colonel Raymond Sleeper (part of an ASC national strategy committee member) wanted to attack the Soviet Union if they refuse to comply with the West. General Curtis LeMay was a wicked man. He not only ran the fire bombings of Japanese cities killing more than 2 million people in the process (which tons of civilians died). He also wanted a massive bombing campaign in North Vietnam and he wanted to attack Cuba, which JFK rejected outright. He was so extreme that he called the resolution of the Cuban Missile Crisis as the “greatest defeat in our history.” His protégés were Power and ASC strategy board member Joints Chief General Lyman Lemnitzer. The Western reactionaries readily support the torture, murder, and oppression of labor union leaders, human rights activists, communists, socialists, etc. if the leaders of those nations are in league with Western interests. The ASC continued domestic spying actions even after the Frank Church Committee’s findings of government corruption. The ASC loved the views of Richard Nixon, Barry Goldwater, and Ronald Reagan. Today, the ASC is focused on anti-terrorism not anti-communism as we live in a new generation. The ASC is allied with the neoconservative movement. At the end of the day, we don’t need to worship neoconservativism. We need to fight for our liberties, labor unions have the right to organize, and social services should help humanity.

One investigator blamed black culture for the death of one child. This should not be surprising to people who understand how many people think. The death of an innocent one year old child has nothing to do with black culture. It has to do with the actions of a murderer. The death of the one year old child should be known and the child's life should be remembered plus respected. There must be justice for the family of the late child without question. Most black people in America do work and know the value of labor. The problem is that ignorant reactionary extremists hold onto simplistic views on how the world is as a means to collectively blame the black community for societal problems. When I see black culture, I see the Harlem Renaissance, the old school BPP, R&B music, great art, STEM subjects, Black Love, PROACTIVE & excellent community development organizations, conscious Brothers and conscious Sisters expressing their inspiring views on black heritage, and other things that represents the strength and the beauty of blackness. I have noticed that David Daniel omitted things. We know how the racists omit the destruction of Black Wall Street by white racist terrorists, the war crimes in the four corners of the Earth done by imperialists, and other evils. Those who commit murder and other evil actions are against black culture by definition. The investigator is wrong on so many levels. Daniel’s views are embraced by many people. He is not alone in his ignorant views. That is why it is our jobs to not only refute Daniel’s slander of black people, but to help our people too. We will CONTINUE to not only love black people, but to defend black people without hesitation. This racist investigator exploited the death of a child to promote a political agenda. The man is WRONG period. The death of the child has everything to do with the murderer. The truth is that people deserve solutions and justice.

The combined net worth of Congress is about 2 billion dollars up from 150 million dollars from 2012 according to CQ’s Roll Call’s annual tally. The median net worth of the members of Congress is over $450,000. The midterm elections are the most expensive non-Presidential election in U.S. history. Ironically, voter turnout is expected to be in record lows. The public at large has expressed great disapproval of both the Democrats and the Republicans. Both of these parties are running on right wing platforms. We see the huge, widening chasm between political institutions and both parties form the broad mass of the people. The financial oligarchy controls economic life in the West heavily. The extremely rich control a huge part of the social and economic components of mainstream United States society. The release of the report follows the announcement earlier this year by the Center for Responsive Politics, using a different method for estimating the average wealth of US lawmakers, that 2012 marked the first time a typical member of Congress was worth over a million dollars. We see that even the Democrats, who posture themselves as for the “middle class” were on average richer than their Republican counterparts. Congressional multimillionaires include House Rep. Darrell Issa (a Republican from California), the Republican Michael McCaul of Texas, Democratic House member John Delaney, and others. Each of these people works with major committees or they are funded by the military industrial complex and other corporate entities like Credit Suisse and JPMorgan Chase. The House and Senate leaders are all multi-millionaires. Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is worth about $2.8 million, while Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is worth $11.97 million. Republican House Speaker John Boehner has a net worth of $2.32 million, and outgoing House Majority Leader Eric Cantor $9 million. Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has a net worth of $29 million, making her the 14th-wealthiest member of Congress. The net worth of a typical U.S. household was $56,335 in 2013, which is down from 36 percent since 2003 according to a study published earlier this year by the Russell Sage Foundation. This means that a typical member of Congress is 20 times wealthier than a typical American. We see much corruption, bribery, fraud, and other insider dealings in the government. That is why candidates either seek wealthy donors to fund their campaigns or agree with oligarchical policies. The Democrats try to get support from the middle class, the working class, and sections of big business. The Republicans gain support from small businesspeople and small farmers including most of corporate America. We see for the past 50 years, the deindustrialization, the financialization of the economy, the growth of social inequality, and other issues. The only solution is a broad based ending of the current system to be replaced with a fair system where the working class has democratic control of the economy, where people have real rights, and justice is established.
