Savant on President Barack Obama

What people who hoped a Black FDR or Johnson don't seem to understand is that progressive changes are sparked by POPULAR MOVEMENTS, not administrative decrees or Congressional fiats. There wss a LABOR MOVEMENT when FDR came into office, The Black FREEDOM MOVEMENT was already active when Kennedy & Johnson came into office. The momentum came not from those political leaders, but from the self-active movement of the PEOPLE.
