The Facts on our Society.
The Mueller report summary is here. It mentioned that the Attorney General William Barr (whose assessment is supported by Rosenstein) outlined the point that it didn't find that Trump performed collusion with Russia. It also mentioned that it didn't establish that members of the Trump team conspired with the Russians to allow Trump to win the 2016 election. It did find that Trump isn't exonerated in terms of obstruction of justice. The ambiguity of much of the summary (among other reasons) is why Rep. Jerry Nadler will call Attorney General Barr to testify before the House Judiciary. Nadler is right since we need all of the transparency and the documents in dealing with the Mueller report. Barr is a Trump appointee, so Barr has a vested interest in defending Trump. Also, this is not over. We have investigations in Congress, and New York state prosecutors are investigating many issues. Now, Trump is trying to celebrate, but his administration is filled with corrupt cabinet members, habitual lying, racism, and xenophobia. The American people deserve not just a summary but an entire report. Even Barr admitted that, "While the report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it does not exonerate him." This means that the Mueller report can't explicitly refute the charge that Trump obstructed justice. That is historic. Also, it is important to note that Barr's summary is not the Mueller report. The Mueller report has tons of information that must be shown to the public. Much more damaging information about Trump could be found in the total Mueller report. So, we have a lot of more questions that must be answered. Issues about education, health care, criminal justice issues, economic issues, reparations, etc. are all important subjects that should be discussed.
One of the most important news today is about Sister Tonya Chapman. She was the first African American police chief in the commonwealth of Virginia. She resigned abruptly. She later mentioned that she was forced out, because she fought against the racism found in the Portsmouth police department. This is sad, but not new. Historically, many police leaders, who tried to call out police brutality or racial discrimination, have been fired, forced out, or ostracized. Now, the NAACP supports her, and this story shows a lesson. The lesson is that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said. You will notice that the Portsmouth police union is silent. Many Portsmouth city council members are silent which is a shame. Tonya Chapman deserves dignity and respect. The blue wall of silence is not only evil. It must come tumbling down if we are to be a better society. The system of white racism still exists, and it must be confronted plus ended. There should be answers. We all wish the best for Tonya Chapman.
Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is wrong to advocate cuts to the Special Olympics. She wants to promote charter schools at the expense of cutting more than $7 billion from the Education Department. The Trump administration wants to cut billions in grants that can improve student achievement, build technology, and establish smaller class sizes. The sick irony is that DeVos has no teaching experience whatsoever, but she is the head of the Department of Education. DeVos' agenda is clear. She wants the total privatization of education and massive cuts from public resources. This cruel proposal from DeVos is why I am not a Republican. There is the epidemic of police brutality in America. Recently, there were protests in Pittsburgh. The courageous protesters protested the police killing of Antwon Rose. Many people left work and left school in order for them to march in the streets in favor of justice. Many had umbrellas and shown signs in downtown Pittsburgh. This comes after the former police officer Michael Rosfeld was acquitted in Antwon’s killing. We all know about the blue wall of silence. Many police unions do their best to support the police institution unconditionally, while there are stories of police brutality and police corruption. Many cops have ties to white supremacist groups. The Rose family will proceed with a civil lawsuit.
Another piece of news is that the Attorney General and the Trump administration want the entire ACA to be struck down. They don't want to change the ACA to improve upon it, but they want to shut it down wholeheartedly. Ending the ACA will stop protections from those with pre-existing conditions. Barr and the Trump administration are cruel. They have no respect for public resources to help the common people. Also, Cardi B admitted in a videotape that she drugs men in order for her to steal their money (i.e. robbery). A recent, new tape has her admitted to it again. There is no excuse for that, and the hypocrites who support Cardi B are either silent (or they are trying to make excuses). Cardi B is no hero, and she is no revolutionary. She is the same racist who slandered black people (i.e. calling black women slurs), who exploit black bodies for sexual pleasure (plus for profit), and who glamorizes gang violence. She is violent towards people, and she is reckless in her hypocrisy. It's bigger than her though. Corporate executives who fund her, other musicians who have lyrics glamorizing nihilism, and the sellouts who love her are complicit in harming the black community too. Musicians have a responsibility to promote upliftment. If they don't, we won't support them.
Antonio Moore of the ADOS movement certainly went too far with his disrespect of Lupita Nyong'o. He said that African Americans typical have 20 % European DNA (which is true in many cases). I don't. I have almost 90% sub Saharan African DNA. Then, he said that he doesn't want Lupita to be part of black films relating to the black American experience when she lived in America for years, interacted with black Americans, and loves black history. Not to mention that stories do exist of African Americans living with Africans in America. So, in every level, he is wrong. Moore is a total deceiver since he mixes truth (about the statistics of income inequality and the wealth gap involving black Americans) with lies (in that he believes that we, who are black Americans, shouldn't unite with all of the African Diaspora on the issue of reparations for black Americans. He wants us to concern ourselves with American issues or reparations for black Americans primarily when all in the African Diaspora deserves reparations. Pan-Africanism is superior to ADOS' cultural chauvinism). I will support black Americans, Africans, all people in the African Diaspora, and black immigrants dedicated to black liberation rather than deceptions. I certainly don't believe in Tanton's pro-eugenics views. I believe in justice.
