Never forget why we have this holiday weekend in the first place. The reason why I can eat where I want, type what I want, go to any public location where I want, and drink from any fountain where I desire were products of heroic men, women, and children who sacrificed for our freedom. From abolitionists, Freedom Riders, black liberation activists, and those who marched in Selma, we shall never forget the courage, the resiliency, and the strength of heroes who defied injustice in making freedom real for us. We stand on the shoulders of true giants, and we have created a path for future generations too. Our ancestors were brought into America in chains. Yet, their descendants became doctors, lawyers, teachers, scientists, inventors, athletes, judges, engineers, scientists, space explorers, musicians, and some of the greatest cultivators of culture in human history. That in it of itself is a profound miracle and the confirmation of the power of the human spirit. 

That is why on this upcoming holiday, we always should rededicate ourselves in creating that Dream real for our black people and the rest of the human race as the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. proclaimed decades ago in his famous, I Have a Dream speech at Washington, D.C. I visited across America. I been to Los Angeles, Baltimore, Charlotte, Salisbury (in Maryland), Richmond (in Virginia), Philadelphia, and other places. Yet, the same creed of justice is embraced by all real people in the four corners of the Earth. Today, we face many threats from voter suppression laws, anti-black literature movements, discrimination, bigotry, and other forms of oppression. Yet, in the end the truth will prevail, and evil will be defeated conclusively.

We live in a new era in our history. We have the same enemies of liberties like yesteryear. We have democracy vs. authoritarianism. We have voting rights vs. tyranny. If there is no federal new voting rights legislation passed, then we have a very high risk of having fascism spread all over America for years. This is not hyperbole or over exaggerations. This is real. This crisis of democracy in the United States of America is the biggest threat to our democracy since the start of the American Civil War of 1861. It's that deep and that serious. Our democracy is under threat by fascists who want to deprive elections, who want to ban anti-racist books from our schools including our public libraries, and who are explicitly anti-science. We want paid family leave federally. Joe Manchin and Sinema are Senators whose political legacies relate to their responses on this issue. If they refuse to end the filibuster to fight for real voting rights, then their legacies will be that they are the enemies of democracy. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has done a terrible job to refuse to support voting rights bills, clean energy investments, gun safety measures, a $15 minimum wage, and anti-corruption laws. There is absolutely no excuse of voter suppression, evil gerrymandering, and overt bigotry expressed by many Republicans. With Liz Cheney (who Andrew Yang wanted to be Vice President) voting against the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act shows her hypocrisy as not being truly for voting rights 

President Biden urges Democrats and Americans to support the voting rights bill. The real problem isn't Biden or progressives. The real problem is the moderates holding up legislation by their support of the filibuster. In this situation, you can invest in the grassroots organizing, but without 2 moderate Senators voting for the bill; nothing changes. It is no secret that many billionaires have donated to Senator Kyrsten Sinema. Some of them are Ernest Garcia II, the largest shareholder of the online used car seller of Carvana and the Gap heir Robert Fisher including Intuit founder Scott Cook. Some of these funders are Trump supporters like Marc Rowan and Stanley Hubbard. Arizona Ruben Gallego gave a speech to support voting rights legislation. When you have the Democratic National Committee chairman Jamie Harrison calling the Republican Party a fascist party, you know that the GOP is a fascist party. This isn't the same GOP party of Lincoln. The lie promoted by Sinema, Manchin, and other Republicans is that the filibuster is somehow beneficial to our system of government. The truth is that the filibuster is not mentioned in the Constitution or any legislation. It was used by racist segregationists to try to block civil rights legislation. The filibuster is a racist, anti-democratic entity that must be abolished. Racism is still in existence with how Marsha Blackburn used racist, coded tropes against judicial nominee Andrew Mathis. Also, we know about the bomb threats against HBCUs nationwide. 

11 Oath Keepers in total have been charged with seditious conspiracy. This is beyond sedition. This is treason among far right extremists who wanted to overthrow the American government. The Justice Department said that a grand jury indicted these 11 people including Oath Keepers leader Stewart Rhodes. These terrorists wanted to use weapons, technology, and other methods to try to end the USA government as we know it. The Oath Keepers are other domestic terrorist groups are complicit in the terrorist attack at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. Rhodes paid $15,500 on weapons, sights, scopes, and armor plates. Rhodes and Edward Vallejo of Phoenix, Arizona were arrested in Phoenix too during the morning. The indictment cited the Oath Keepers' communications planning violence and other evils. Fascists like the Proud Boys are complicit in the events too. We know how many Trump aides discussed using the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office over a year ago.
