News on July 1, 2022.

The Supreme Court ruled on the last 2 cases for its term. It curtailed EPA's ability to fight climate change. The EPA is a federal agency that should have jurisdiction across America. Climate change is ever real with ice melting from the North Pole, record temperatures across the globe, increased flooding, and animal species suffering. We have massive wildfires not just in the West Coast, but all over America. The Supreme Court restricted the EPA's power to regulate carbon emissions from existing power plants. This is a major defeat for the Biden administration's attempts to cut emissions. More scientists are warning about the acceleration of global warming. This ruling can impact the federal government's attempt to regulate worker safety matters and the Internet. The Supreme Court gave Biden a victory in ending Trump's remain in Mexico policy. The ruling was 5-4 saying that the federal government has the discretion to end the policy. The case returns to the lower court. Biden can terminate the program for good soon.

Certainly, today is a day of history involving a black woman. Now, this monumental day has occurred, which will inspire tons of human beings the world over. Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson was recently sworn in as the first black woman on the United States Supreme Court. For decades, she expressed her law of constitutional research and other aspects of legal affairs. Now, she joined the court as its 116th member. She is now 51 years old, so she will continue to render decisions for decades to come. Now, we have a special time in our history. Future cases will deal with election matters and affirmative action in 2023. Regardless of what will happen, we have to continuously fight for justice. Justice Jackson wants the best for America. She was confirmed 53-47 by the Senate to join the high court. She made her opening statement that she will evaluate the facts of each case, be impartial, and follow the Constitution. She is superbly qualified being a manga cum laude graduate of Harvard University in 1992, cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1996, and was the supervising editor of the Harvard Law Review. Justice Jackson clerked for Beyer and Judge Bruce M. Selya, a federal judge in Massachusetts, including U.S. District Judge Patti Saris in Massachusetts.

Congratulations to Sister United States Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.

The Republicans claim to be for limited government, but that isn't the case. For a long time, the Republicans have banned rights from people, stopped voting rights, forbid in many states teachers to teach America's racist history, and deny other freedoms from other human beings. We live in the biggest threat to our democracy since the American civil war. Many Republicans have advanced limited safety measures to deal with the pandemic. Now, the Republicans seek re-elected by using overt bigotry and harming fundamental human rights. These hypocrites claim to love and care about babies, but many of them refuse to endorse Medicaid expansion, refuse to invest in social safety net programs, and refuse to eliminate economic oppression in general. That is why folks have to be involved in state, local, and federal politics. Right now, Cassidy's Hutchinson has been powerful. We are still digesting it. She said that Trump wanted to lead an armed mob to the U.S. Capitol. We already knew that Trump is anti-American and anti-democratic. Now, we see how violent and fascist he is. She said that Mark Meadows wanted to go to the war room on January 5, 2022, to plan on promoting the lie that the 2020 election was stolen. Meadows was the former chief of staff, and the war room was in the Willard Hotel. Hutchinson advised him to not go to speak with Roger Stone and Mike Flynn. Yet, Meadows dialed into the meeting still. She also said that Giuliani and Meadows wanted presidential pardons. Now, Trump worshipers and supporters are trying lie on Hutchinson, but we already know that Trump resisted subpoenas and was involved in a conspiracy to try to stop the peaceful transfer of power from taking place. That fact of Trump knowing that terrorists had weapons in the area, and he wanted them to come to the U.S. Capitol still is very evil.

Yesterday was the Birthday of Sister Fantasia Monique Barrino-Taylor, and she is 38 years old. In our generation, she can sing, play in theater, and act. Fantasia can SANG for real. Her voice is incredible. She was born in High Point, North Carolina. Her parents are Diane and Joseph Barrino. When she was five years old, she started singing. Her first cousins are the R&B duo K-Ci & JoJo. Her uncles were part of The Barrino Brothers being a 1970's R&B band. Fantasia attended Andrews High School. in High Point, North Carolina. Fantasia survived the storm in her life, but she overcame it with faith, action, and strength. Barrino was on the stage for years. Many of us first knew her by being in the American Idol competition. Fantasia won the competition on May 26, 2004. She was 19 years old being the 2nd youngest American Idol winner (the younger was when a 17-year-old Jordin Sparks won the title on May 23, 2007). Fantasia worked with Kelly and Ruben to present a holiday concert. Free Yourself was her debut album in 2004. Her early hits were I Believe, Free Yourself, Truth Is, and Baby Mama. Fantasia was on All of Us, The Tonight Show, and she performed at the 26t NAACP Image Award in honor of Barack Obama after winning the award for Outstanding Female Artist.

Fantasia worked hard and played herself in the Lifetime Television film based on her autobiography called Life is Not a Fairy Tale. The film was directed by Debbie Allen, and it debuted on Lifetime on August 19, 2006. It was Lifetime's 2nd most viewed program of all time with 19 million viewers on its debut weekend. Fantasia worked with many artists like Faith Evans, Lil' Mo, and Coko of SWV. Fantasia or her 2nd album was released in 2006. When I See You was one of her best songs. She worked in the Color Purple play. Many artists inspired her like Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin. Fantasia performed America the Beautiful at WrestleMania in 2010. By 2011, she won her first Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for "Bittersweet." By February 13, 2012, VH1 named Fantasia 32nd out of the 100 Greatest Women in Music. By 2013, she has the song of Without Me featuring Kelly Rowland and Missy Elliot. She made her sixth studio album called Sketchbook in 2019. Fantasia published her book, loves her children, and loves her husband. When she was a child, artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Cab Calloway, and Nina Simone inspired her. Chaka Khan also inspired her too along with The Clark Sisters. Amber Riley is inspired by her. Fantasia is easily one of the greatest singers of all time without question. Her voice is that amazing. I wish Sister Fantasia more Blessings.
