Trump defending the terrorists of the insurrection on January 6th of 2021 makes him a traitor outright. Trump made the recent anti-Semitic comment that any Jewish person who is a Democrat violates their own Jewish faith. Trump has shown bigotry, racism, sexism, etc. Trump believes that Jewish people being a Democrat also lacks disloyalty which is blatantly anti-Semitic (which is part of the dual loyal slur). One former Trump cabinet member said that Trump said that Hitler did some good things which is offensive and wrong. Hitler was a cowardly murderer. Trump Spokeswoman Karolin Leavitt lied and said that the Democratic Party is an anti-Semitic and pro-terrorist cabal. MAGA extremists committed terrorism against innocent people at the U.S. Capitol over three years ago. Trump said that a Mexican American immigrant can't judge an immigration case because of his Mexican heritage. We have an increase in hate crimes. Therefore, anti-black racism, anti-Semitism, and other forms of bigotry have no justification at all.
Putin is re-elected as President of Russia for a fifth term for maintaining his dictatorship in Russia. Many of the other candidates only disagreed with Putin on certain issues. The candidate of the NATO backed opposition is Boris Nadezhdin. He was prevented from running. The Putin regime has jailed hundreds of dissidents, protesters, and opposition media journalists. These facts are omitted and downplayed by many people. The Russian imperialists have attacked Ukraine. Many supporters of Putin are far-right people and some fake leftists who hate NATO. It's one thing to disagree with NATO on a host of issues (like I do), but it's quite another to wish Russia to conquer Ukraine. I don't agree with any Ukrainian attack on Russia, but I do support Ukraine supporting self-defense in their own lands though. Funding Ukrainian support has nothing to do with hating all Russian people. It is about hating oppression and Russian imperialism. Putin rose up after the end of the Soviet Union. The Russian Revolution was successful in ending the oppression of the Czars. The people involved in the 1917 Russian Revolution were Lenin and others. The problem was that Stalin perverted the cause of economic justice to such an extent that Stalinism failed in its hubris. Later, 33 years of Russian capitalism after 1991 failed to improve Russia. Russia has massive social inequality and authoritarian rule. The Putin regime defends the interests of the oligarchy. The solution to this crisis is not Russia being a puppet of America or Putin and it is not Ukraine to be a conquered nation of Russia. The solution is for Ukraine and Russia to have a negotiated peace where Ukraine has its independence and Russia must be inspired to embrace democracy, not a Putin fascist regime.
Ex-Trump Adviser Peter Navarro reports to prison on contempt of Congress conviction. This is a product of Navarro's folly. He refused to submit to the lawful subpoena because he is a member of the MAGA cult. He is the first senior Trump senior aide to serve a prison term. The January 6th committee wanted to interview Peter Navarro, but Peter refused to do so. Peter Navarro supported Trump's aim to steal the lawful 2020 election. The lesson here is that many people who have something to hide refuse to accept accountability. Peter Navarro is that person who refuses to answer any question to the January 6th Committee, because he wants to politically protect Trump. It is a historical fact that many people desired to overthrow the 2020 election via plans, court cases, and other tactics. They have failed, but the 2024 election should never make us compliant with the status quo. We have to continue to defend and protect our democracy.
There is a recent ruling on housing. If the court system approves this ruling in the future, there will be a $418 million settlement with a group of homebuyers. We know of the high prices of mortgages in our generation especially. Back in the day, a normal mortgage was found at reasonable prices for the most part. Now, it's the opposite. The antitrust case ruling was against the National Association of Realtors. This ruling will transform a number of rules and guidelines established by the NAR that critics believe may have kept housing prices artificially inflated. Agent commissions can fall, because they will be competitive and negotiable. Sellers can shop around for better rates, so some brokers may quit. Buyers still have to pay their broker directly in the future. Yet, the overall cost of buying a home should fall by thousands of dollars on average. Buying a home in many cases requires taking a course, signing up for house insurance, signing a contract with a lawyer, and other procedures.
Benjamin Netanyahu continues to double down on his planned assault on Rafah. The war crimes, the massive civilian deaths of Palestinians, and the constant warfare have been a disaster for innocent Palestinians and innocent Israelis. Rafah is the southernmost city in Gaza where over 1.5 million Palestinians are sheltering. Netanyahu lied and said that he will only attack Northern Gaza months ago, but now, Southern Gaza is being attacked heavily. By last Friday, the Israeli military approved a plan for an offensive in Rafah. This comes after U.S. Democratic Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer has criticized Netanyahu as an obstacle to peace. U.S. President Joe Biden endorsed Schumer's remarks. When a super pro-Israeli Senator Schumer criticizes Netanyahu, then you know how extreme the far-right government in Israel is. The entire population of Gaza has starvation, violence, and constant terror. The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) reported that 13,000 children have been killed in Gaza to date. Many children in Gaza have malnutrition. The UK-based charity Oxfam has accused Israelis of deliberately blocking and undermining any meaningful international humanitarian response.
