Los Angeles: The Epicenter of the Resistance to the Trump Agenda.

A tyrant is in the White House, and he desires an unitary executive branch that promotes dictatorship, provokes tensions, lies habitually, and desires to advance xenophobic policies. The lie is that Trump has morality on his side. Trump has desired to end birthright citizenship and lies to say that we have an insurrection in Los Angeles. For years, Trump has glorified violence too. The truth is that tons of protestors in Los Angeles and nationwide desire an end to ICE unjustly arresting legal residents, citizens, and migrants without due process of law. They desire an end to excessive raids taking place in schools, homes, and in other locations that has split families, ruined lives, and sent people overseas without due process. They are not readily arresting cybercriminals, members of transnational gang members, or actual terrorists en masse. They are using xenophobic and racist policies from travel bans to ICE arresting even children. Trump has now called on the National Guard without permission from California's governor and mobilized 700 Marines to support National Guard, which is unprecedented in our generation. Trump has not told these soldiers about training, plans to deal with things, and constitutional issues. That is why California Governor Newsom is suing the Trump regime over the National Guard being sent without his permission.

Many police officers have fired weapons and harmed journalists and peaceful protestors. There has been violence in cars being burned, and I don't agree with unjust violence. Yet, a life is more important than a car. I don't agree with vandalism and cars being destroyed by fire, but the vast majority of the protesters have been peaceful in Los Angeles and the Southern California region. Trump deployment of the military in Los Angeles, being the second largest city in our nation of the United States of America, represents a planned coup d'etat to attack our democracy for the interests of oligarchy. This is not new as brutal military dictatorships in Chile, Argentina, Brazil decades ago, have used the military to promote mass repression. Trump gave the order to federalize the California National Guard on Saturday night. U.S. Northcom desire 500 active-duty Marines to be deployed in Los Angeles, and now we have 700 Marines being mobilized. It is illegal and immoral for Trump to mobilize U.S. military forces domestically to be actively engaged in American citizens who are protesting via their First Amendment right (in violation of the Posse Comitatus Act). This is treason, and Mike Johnson supporting the usage of Marines in this fashion outlines his cowardice. This has nothing to do with forming immigration solutions, but it's about repression, ego, and creating a reactionary dictatorship by a tyrant. Stephen Miller (who desires to suspend habaes corpus), the architect of the administration's fascist agenda, lied and called the demonstration a violent insurrection when Trump pardoned the January 6th terrorist insurrectionists. David Huerta was arrested, beaten, and jailed during protests. He is the president of SEIU California. Trump threatening the Insurrection Act is part of the Trump's hubris escalation of his evil. Los Angeles police and National Guard fire thousands of rounds of weapons at residents protesting the immigration raids. U.S. Correspondent Lauren Tomasi was hit by rubber bullet at Los Angeles for no reason. According to immigration attorneys, many U.S. citizens including a pregnant woman are detained in the federal building. Trump saying that he wants to have U.S. troops everywhere to militarize law enforcement is a fascistic tactic. We must be clear to oppose tyranny.

Trump (who threatened Newsom for arrest), Hegseth, and Michael Johnson (who said that California Governor Newsom should be tarred and feathered for just desiring Trump to stop sending Marines and National Guard troops to Los Angeles) are liars not only about the response in Los Angeles but on the Trump Presidency in general. A tyrant like Trump lecturing us on insurrectionists is really crass. The truth is that Trump pardoned January 6th terrorist insurrectionists who on January 6th tried to overthrow the government (these real MAGA terrorists destroyed property, used slurs, harmed the police, and threatened to hang Mike Pence). Most of the protestors in Los Angeles were peaceful. MAGA supporters say that we don't condemn violence. The truth is that we have always condemned violence done by some people. We don't agree with burning cars, using fireworks on people, and being violent against ICE agents or National Guard forces or LAPD officers. Yet, we don't support police using rubber bullets against an innocent journalist, and we don't agree with ICE arresting innocent people either. Many people doing violence are agent provocateurs not true activists. Yet, Trump has not condemned kids being split from their families, he has supported being against the 14th Amendment for hating birthright citizenship, and he supports the excessive usage of National Guard troops and Marines to be placed in the streets of Los Angeles. Trump officials calling Los Angeles a city of criminals is slander. The crime rate in Los Angeles has declined.

Hegseth saying that people waving Mexican flags is wrong shows his xenophobia and anti-free speech attitude. The First Amendment gives people the right to wave American flags and other flags of diverse nations too. The corporate media says that most Americans supports Trump on this issue. My response is that most Americans back in the day once supported slavery, most Americans opposed Dr. King's opposition to the Vietnam War, most Americans once refused to support equality for black Americans. The majority of Americans' views ought to never supersede truth or morality. We have the right to use our free speech rights to oppose the agenda of a fascist (wanting a presidential dictatorship via a coup d'etat) who want to exploit the military for control while Trump has called the military "suckers and losers" for years. The racist Donald Trump called Los Angeles a trash heap, and Stephen Miller lied to said Mayor Karen Bass wants to go against national sovereignty and is leading an insurrection. Miller is a liar. Trump has no respect for the military; therefore we have no respect for his evil agenda.

The BET Awards in 2025 is the 25th Year Anniversary of the BET Awards. Many people said that it was one of the most impactful BET Awards in many years. It was filled with nostalgia and a call for action to combat oppression. It was filled with celebrating icons of our black culture along with appreciating the gifts of the younger generation. The awards ceremony took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California on June 9, 2025. It was hosted by comedian Kevin Hart. Throughout the ceremony, there was the 25th anniversary of 106 & Park. I remember watching 106 & Park back during the early 2000s during my very early adulthood. The Ultimate Icon Award was awarded to Jamie Foxx. Jamie Foxx gave an emotional speech about surviving his stroke and desiring to have a second chance from God to do things the right way. His children were emotional too. The celebration of 106 & Park had music shown by Ashanti, Amerie, Keyshia Cole, Mya, T.I. B2K, and other people. Mary Carey and Anderson.Paak, and Rakim performed music. Many people shown music from GloRilla to Luke James. People gave tribute to Jamie Foxx like Doug E. Fresh, T-Pain, Teddy Riley, and Babyface. Audra Day gave tribute to Roberta Flack. Brittney Spencer gave a tribute to the late Angie Stone. Kendrick Lamar won many awards. Doechii won an award and gave a speech to support the rights of black people and other oppressed people worldwide. She opposed Trump's efforts to suppress legal dissent against his reactionary immigration policies. Summer Walker won the BET Her Award. Denzel Washington won Best Actor and Cynthia Erivo won Best Actress. Angel Reese won Sportswoman of the Year and Jalen Hurts won Sportsman of the Year. Ayra Starr won Best International Act and TxC won Best new International Act. Therefore, many people have mixed feelings about BET. BET is not perfect. Yet, many people in BET and the BET Awards do show many examples of Black Excellence. The BET Awards ceremony is about us and our culture. Our black culture makes the world go around, and Black is always Beautiful.
