The Christian persecution in Nigeria is one of the most important issues in our generation. Many members of the right and the left are wrong on this issue for completely different reasons. Many on the right want to exploit that legitimate suffering of Christian people in Nigeria to advance military U.S. intervention in Nigeria to make Nigeria a puppet Western state. We want Nigeria to be free and independent without Western corporate control and not be a puppet state of the Russia/China network either. We don't advocate the U.S. to use military intervention in Nigeria period. That is what the previous Non-Aligned Movement has taught all of us to advocate nations to be independent. Many on the left are wrong in trying to minimize the massacres of Nigerian Christians. We know that Boko Haram and other radical Islamists terrorists have killed Christians in Northern Nigeria, and they have murdered Muslims. In fact, some sources mention that Boko Haram killed more Muslims than Christians. We know about the conflicts in Nigeria spanning decades over climate change, herding, farmers, and other complex reasons beyond just religion. Yet, many churches have been destroyed by terrorists, Christian communities have been destroyed, and over 7,000 Christians have been murdered in 2025 alone in Nigeria. 7,000 innocent human beings to me being massacred is a plain genocide to me. These acts of murder have happened in Plateau, Taraba, and Benue. According to many sources like John Campbell, many Christians are treated harshly for sharia violations by the local police. In Nigeria's west, there are more moderate Muslims and Muslim/Christian relations are more peacefully and toleration exists. Many of the same ones who hypocritically claim to oppose Palestinian genocide are either silent or minimize the genocide in Ukraine, the genocide in Sudan, and the genocide of black African people by Islamist terrorists for centuries. To be clear, the vast majority of Muslims are not complicit in the murder of Christians and Muslims in Nigeria. I want to make that clear. Likewise, showing the truth is not Islamophobia. I will never blame an entire religion like Islam for the actions of a few. I don't believe that the Nigerian government should be blamed for the massacres, but they have a responsibility to create a resolution to the bloodshed in Nigeria.
One of the greatest films of Pam Grier was Friday Foster, which came out in 1975. The film starred Pam Grier, Yaphet Kotto, Eartha Kitt, Scatman Crothers, and Carl Weathers. The film was directed by Arthur Marks, its screenplay was written by Orville Hampton, and it was produced by Arthur Marks too. The movie was based on the comic strip Friday Foster from 1970 to 1974 (which was done by Jim Lawrence and Jorge Longaron). The film is about Friday Foster (played by Pam Grier) who was a magazine model. Later, she became a magazine photographer. She refuses to heed her boss's admonitions against being involved in the stories to which she is assigned. After seeing an assassination attempt on the nation's wealthiest African American Blake Tarr (played by Thalmus Rasulaa) and then seeing her best friend, Cloris Boston (played by Rosalind Miles) murdered, Friday finds herself targeted for death. She worked with a private detective (Kotto) to investigate to try to stop the plot to eliminate America's African American political leaders. The film mentioned racial issues and the necessity to promote black unity. Friday Foster was also a film that touched on the importance of respecting black women and black women leadership in the black community. Friday Foster was a movie that was ahead of its time with non-stereotypical concepts as well.

It has been 60 years since the 1965 film of The Sound of Music. The film was a musical drama that was produced and directed by Robert Wise from a screenplay written by Ernest Lehman. It is based on the 1959 stage musical composed by Richard Rodgers, with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and a book by Lindsay and Crouse, itself based on the 1949 memoir The Story of the Trapp Family Singers by Maria von Trapp. It stars Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, with Richard Haydn, Peggy Wood, Charmian Carr, and Eleanor Parker. Set in Salzburg, Austria, it is a fictional retelling of Maria von Trapp's experiences as governess to seven children, her eventual marriage to their father, Captain Georg von Trapp, and their escape during the Anschluss in 1938. The Anschluss was when the Nazis annexed Austria on March 12, 1938. Filming took place from March to September 1964 in Los Angeles and Salzburg. The Sound of Music was released by 20th Century Fox in the United States on March 2, 1965, initially as a limited roadshow theatrical release. Initial critical response to the film was mixed, but it was a major commercial success, becoming the number-one box office film after four weeks, and the highest-grossing film of 1965. By November 1966, The Sound of Music had become the highest-grossing film in history back then, surpassing Gone with the Wind, and it held that distinction for five years. The film was popular throughout the world, breaking previous box-office records in 29 countries. The Sound of Music had an initial theatrical release that lasted four and a half years, and two successful re-releases. It sold 283 million admissions worldwide and earned a total worldwide gross of $286 million. The Sound of Music received five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. The film also received Golden Globe Awards for Best Motion Picture and Best Actress, the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement, and the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Written American Musical. Julie Andrews plays a nun named Maria who married Captain von Trapp (played by Christopher Plummer) and has stepchildren. The family is opposed to the Nazis and their ideology, so they flee to Switzerland. The von Trapp family sings many songs about their lives and the power of music. The von Trapp family makes its way on foot across the frontier into Switzerland to safety and freedom.
Tupac Shakur has been in the headlines again. A journalist named Jeff Pearlman wrote a book about Tupac called "Only God Can Judge Me: The Many Lives of Tupac Shakur." Immediately, I knew this book would be like Manning Marable's book about Malcolm X. In other words, the book about Tupac Shakur from Pearlman mixes many truths (about 90 percent truths probably) and has errors and falsehoods in it too (probably 10 percent falsehoods). Jeff Pearlman even recently acknowledged that he made errors in his book, too. Pearlman never met Tupac, but Pearlman claimed to have hundreds of interviews from people around Tupac. Pearlman made the error in claiming that Tupac Shakur can't shoot when video footage showed Tupac Shakur at a shooting range using a gun to shoot a target. So, obviously, Tupac can shoot, and he shot at crooked, racist police officers in Atlanta, Georgia. Also, Pearlman claimed that Tupac didn't know how to fight. It is true that Tupac wasn't the greatest fighter in Marin City, but it is also true that Tupac fought better as he gotten older. Tupac wasn't a coward. Pearlman also attacks the character of Afeni Shakur. Pearlman's book, he called Afeni Shakur a yellow tooth "nappy" and other profane words. Regardless of Afeni's imperfections (and she admitted her imperfections and turned her life around before her death), Pearlman has no business describing a black woman in that fashion. Ashley Matthews, who was Tupac's friend, disputes many of the accounts in the Pearlman book. Therefore, I can't in good conscious support Pearlman's book, even if 90 percent of the book is accurate. It seems that Pearlman mixes facts with his personal feelings about Tupac Shakur and his mother. Pearlman claimed that Tupac shot a gun during the tragic Marin City incident, but Tupac never did it, as confirmed by Edi Amin. This doesn't mean that Tupac was perfect. He was not perfect as no human is perfect on this Earth, but you shouldn't lie on a person for profit. There is a biography about Tupac written by Staci Robinson and audio book voiced by Tupac's god uncle, Jamal Joseph.
