The First 2020 Presidential Debate

At 9pm. the first Presidential debate occured at Cleveland between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. This debate dealt with the issues of taxes, the coronavirus, racial issues, policing, foreign policy, health care, the Supreme Court, and other important issues. This time saw unprecedented events as 2020 is one of the most important years in human history from record protests, record wildfires, and a call for justice. We have seen how both men have acted, and it is a time where a new era is upon us.What I see in the beginning of the debate is Trump interrupting Biden, and Trump lying. As others have mentioned, this debate in late September 2020 is the worst American Presidential debate in American history. Chris Wallace narrated the debate. Throughout the whole ordeal, the debate dealt with constant interruptions by Donald Trump. This debate is beyond bizarre as Trump is the most bizarre President in American history. Trump wanted to evade real issues and deflect. Biden said that Trump wants to use the Supreme Court to eliminate Obamacare. Millions of people would lose preexisting conditions if Obamacare is gone. Biden desires to establish a public option while not agreeing with a single payer universal health scare system. Biden also said that 200,000 people died under Trump's watch in dealing with the coronavirus. Biden said to Trump shut up. Biden also called Trump a clown. Joe Biden said that this debate is about the American people. Trump accused Biden of being involved in Ukrainian scandal and Biden denies it. Wallace begged both people to stop interrupting each other. Obviously, Trump interrupted more. Biden exposed Trump's racism in the debate too. Trump talked about the economy, but job growth in his first 3 years was slower than in Obama's 2nd term. Millions of jobs have been lost in this year alone. Biden said to Trump release your tax returns. Trump used the old canard that Biden is controlled by the "radical left," but Joe Biden obviously is a neoliberal centrist. Trump has a hatred of progressive people, but Trump is an admirer of the war criminal Andrew Jackson.

Trump obsesses with law and order, but his policies make a mockery of the law. Trump has disregarded subpoenas, hated peaceful NFL protesters, and believes in historical revisionism as it relates to American history (which is why he hates cultural sensitivity training or any school showing how people like Jefferson were hypocritical racist slave owners). Trump coddles far right militias and vigilantes, but he demonizes Black Lives Matter. Trump insulted (by disrespecting Biden's sons), interrupted, and acted very unprofessional in the debate. Trump lied and said that Biden wanted people to burn down towns. Biden is clear to mention that he is against violence in communities. Trump hates for people to expose systematic racism. The crime rate went down 17  percent during the Obama administration. The debate dealt with protests and various rebellions in America. Both of them debated on Antifa. Antifa is a lot of things, but it is not equivalent to Nazis or white racists at all. Trump bragged about sending far right judges to the courts of America. The deal is that McConnell blocked tons of Obama's nominees and changed the rules. Trump continues to interrupt. Biden and Trump debated on climate change. Trump has reduced legitimate environmental regulations, even in harming methane regulations. Trump has made 68 environmental rollbacks. Trump is using hyperbole of taking out cows and eliminating airplanes which isn't the case. Biden wanted to go back into the Paris Agreement, which was an international agreement that fought climate change. Trump questioned the ballot system and made the lie that there is an epidemic of ballot fraud. Biden wants people to vote. Trump falsely accused Democrats of being in a conspiracy to make a voting fraud conspiracy. Voting is a human right. Trump said the racist remark that "bad things" happen in Philadelphia. Trump wants to attack the USPS too. So Trump has a paranoia  about voting, because he is afraid of losing the 2020 election. His fear of democracy is the essence of his abhorrent authoritarianism. For Trump to minimize the sexist, violent group of the Proud Boys is just not surprising. Trump encouraged his supporters to watch the polls which is similar to the Jim Crow racists trying to intimidate black voters. Like usual, many FOX News hosts have praised Donald Trump as FOX News is Trump TV. Trump was asked to condemn white supremacists, but Trump refused to condemn white supremacists explicitly in bold terms. Trump didn't even criticize the Proud Boys and like minded extremist groups. The debate was the most bizarre debate in American history. Trump has signaled that he won't commit to supporting the election results. There were shouting, interruptions, and the situation of personal attacks. It was a debate that is representative of the polarization of America. Not to mention that the debate outlined the non-infallibility with American capitalism with housing issues, poverty, and other forms of oppression. Who won the debate? The winner is Biden by default. Wallace was completely intimidated by Trump, and Trump abused the rules of the debate constantly. Trump also disrespected Biden's son who passed away. Trump abused the process and sought to abuse Biden. Trump telling the Proud Boys and others of that ilk to "stand by" is truly wrong. The Proud Boys is a terrorist organization point blank period. Even the FBI admitted that the greatest terrorist threat domestically in America is the white supremacists. Biden stood his ground. It's an embarrassing display of narcissism by Trump. This election is more than about 2 choices. This election is about democracy vs. fascism. It is puzzling for people to be undecided at this point. Donald Trump has shown us who he is. Trump is a xenophobic, sexist, and racist extremist who must be voted out office in 2020. He will be out of office sooner or later. This is the most important election of American history. Therefore, VOTE.

The Atlantic reported that Trump secretly mocks his Christian supporters. It's sad but true. The report says that he treats them with contempt and cynicism. This is not shocking, because Trump used a Bible as a prop after he allowed D.C. police authorities to assault peaceful protesters months ago. He joked about assaulting women in vulgar ways. Trump told Frank Luntz that he doesn't ask God for forgiveness, and he mocked communion as "little wine" and "little cracker." On June 25, 2020, Trump said that he is a "perfect person." Jesus Christ cared for the least of these. Trump allowed a policy to rip children from their mothers and place these children in dilapidated cages. Trump believes in waterboarding.

It is always important to disagree with people who are wrong. Recently, the coward Hassan Campbell disrespected Breonna Taylor. Hassan is the Youtube personality who is known for calling his own wife a "crackhead" and arguing with people at a restaurant. If this male has no respect for his own wife, he has no respect for anyone else.  Hassan is known for disrespecting black people and believing in a lot on nonsense. I'm not going to repeat what he said, because it's very offensive. Breonna Taylor was a hero who lived a life of helping fellow human beings medically. I don't agree with Charles Barkley and Shaquelle O'Neal in saying that Breonna Taylor's death is different than George Floyd's death. The truth is that these deaths are very similar. Breonna Taylor was murdered unjustly just like George Floyd. Breonna Taylor has the right to live on this Earth just like George Floyd. Breonna Taylor and George Floyd are black human beings who deserved to see old age. Breonna's boyfriend had a legal right to carry a firearm. Another Youtube sexist is Jaye de Black who made disrespectful comments about black women for years (as he disrespected Megan Thee Stallion when she was unjustly shot by a cowardly person. Jaye's whole channel is about hating women in promoting his misogynist, red pill agenda, which is very disturbing and sick). Jesse Lee Peterson betrayed the black community so bad that he is worst than Larry Elder. Peterson said thank God for slavery, South Africa was better under apartheid, allowing women to vote was bad, and other sick words. He is wrong and a disgrace. The lesson here is that we have to call out these fake people. That is the truth.

Tons of people are talking about the New York Times story. The story from the NY Times said that Trump core enterprises' report losing millions of dollars. It said that Trump paid no income taxes in 10 out of 15 years beginning in the year of 2000. In both the year 2016 and 2017, the New York Times said that Trump only paid $750 in federal income taxes. The report said that he made financial losses and years of tax avoidance. Of course, Trump denied the allegation and said that he pays a lot in federal income taxes. Trump is known as a habitual liar, so Trump has massive financial issues. This is why many people believe that he is compromised politically. The NY Times said that Trump owes more than $300 million in loans in the next 4 years.   Trump is also under audit by the IRS. There is a new military conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Caucasus region. People are using drones, tanks, and artillery fire. Soldiers and civilians have been killed. Both sides accuse each other of starting the conflict. Yerevan and Baku posted pictures of the war. This is the most intensive conflict of the region since the 1988-1994 conflict. If not controlled, the conflict could involve Russia, Turkey, and other NATO forces. Turkey is a NATO state and an ally of Azerbaijan. They have joint military exercises together. Russia has backed Armenia. NATO wars have existed in Libya and Syria.

Monday News in Late September of 2020.

1997 saw a massive expansion of hip hop. After the unjust murders of  Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G., tons of artists expressed themselves creatively. Missy Misdemeanor Elliot redefined hip hop and R&B with her album Supa Dupa Fly. Her fashion, videos, and lyrics were ahead of their time, and fans loved her performances. From her large suits to her swagger, people admired her artistic fearlessness. She worked with Timbaland, Aaliyah, Magoo, Guinwine, and other legendary artists to execute music that is timeless. Missy is from Portsmouth, Virginia. That's in the 757. I'm from the 757, so Virginia is always in the house. Missy continues to break barriers, and she is the highest selling woman rapper of all time. While this was going on, Interscope Records sold its interest in Death Row Records and end ties with the label. Death Row was in a tail spin of going down because of scandals, people leaving, and the death of Tupac Shakur. Dr. Dre was building his Aftermath label, and it struggled in the beginning. In 1997, Chicago MC Juice defeated Eminem in a 1997 hip hop rap rap battle of the Scribble Jam competition. That was the largest showcase of underground hip hop in America. MC Juice and Supernatural are some of the greatest MC  battlers of all time. This was when Eminem wasn't too known by the public. Years later, Eminem would be beaten again in a rap battle against the Chicago MC Rhymefest (who knows Kanye West). He had his 1996 album Infinite (which copied Nas' and AZ's rhyme style), and he would go on to be one of the most controversial hip hop artists of all time. In 1997, Roc A Fella sold a 50 percent stake to Island Def Jame for $1.5 million. In 1997, B.I.G.'s Life After Death sold tons of records. Scarface's The Untouchable was released. By mid 1997, artists like Artifacts, Boot Map Clik, KRS-One, Esham, and other people established music. One of the most influential albums of that year of 1997 was Wu Tang Clan's Wu Tang Forever. It debuted number one at Billboard with 612,000 copies sold at one week. Their signature song of Triumph was popular especially with Inspectah Deck's opening verse. That opening verse was one of the most lyrical opening verses in hip hop history. The album had Method Man, Ghostface, and others at their finest lyrical performance. This album established them as probably the greatest hip hop group in history. In the Summer of 1997, artists like Capone N Norega, Lil Keek, The Lost Boyz, The Beanuts, Canibus, Cru, Twista, and Craig Mack made music in albums or various songs. Also, the summer of 1997 saw a transition to see more movements and Southern artists shine like Bad Boy with No Way Out, Mia X, The Lady of Rage,  Bone, Rampage, and Trick Daddy. Master P progressed as an industry powerhouse.

The end of 1997 saw music from a diverse amount of musicians from Jay Z with In My Lifetime, Vol. 1, Jedi Mind Triacks, Mase (with Harlem World), Luniz, Salt-n-Pa, LL Cool J, Jurassic 5, Common, Busta, EPMD with Back in Business, Hot Boys, and others. By the end of 1997, Eminem would release Slim Shady EP. Eminem wouldn't be extremely popular until late 1997 and early 1998. Eminem would go onward to have a massive following, especially among white youth. It is obvious that I don't agree with Eminem for his words disrespecting his mother, disrespecting black women (then made a record Yellowbrick road calling women of all colors the h word which is wrong and nonsense), and on other issues. I cite him, because all types of hip hop artists must be discussed even those that I disagree with. Eminem would make a vulgar reference to our late elder C. Delores Tucker. It's one thing to disagree with Tucker on some issues. It's quite another to slander the woman by calling her out of her name, and Eminem is wrong for that. Ironically, C. Delores Tucker was right. Gangsta rap readily glamorizes disrespect of especially black women, nihilistic violence, drug dealing (for the sake of harming people for profit), and total hatred of our people by repeating the n word constantly. That is wrong. Tupac had unreleased music of R U Still Down? (Remember Me) being released on November 25, 1997. 1997 saw the Hype Williams type of larger than life videos. In 1998, Lauryn Hill would released the classic album of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. It talked about Blackness, consciousness, love, romance, etc. She won 11 Grammy nominations, won 5 awards including Album of the Year and Best New Artist. Lauryn Hill is so loved by us, because she stood up for us, she refuted colorist lies, and she is extremely talented on her terms. Dr. Dre signed Eminem on his Aftermath label. Jay Z's Hard Knock Life song saw Jay Z go into the mainstream level. His album of Vol. 2. It had lyricism, popularity, and commercial aspects. The late 1990's had commercial records, but they were extremely lyrical. Shyne or Jamal Barrow signed with Bad Boy Entertainment. 1998 in hip hop had the perfect blend of East Coast, Midwestern, Southern, and other forms of hip hop. If you like Southern classic hip hop, there was Outkast's Aquemini in 1998. If you like a more backpack vibe, there was Mos Def & Talib Kweli's Black Star album. Tribe released music along with Big Pun, Juvenile's 400 Degrees, Gang Starr, etc. 1998 saw DMX reached a new level of power with 2 albums of It's Dark and Hell is Hot along with Flesh of Flesh, Blood of My Blood being platinum in the same year of 1998. Goode Mob, Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Canibus' Can-I-Bus, Lyricist Lounge, and other music were common place. Xzibit, Beasite Boys, Pete Rock and a young Black Eyed Peas were in the music industry. From Ice Cube, Master P., Kurupt, the LOX, and other artists, 1998 was a dynamic year of music. 1999 was the last year of the 20th century.

It ended with a bang. Dr. Dre had his comeback album of 2001. He worked with Snoop, Eminem, Nate Dogg, Kurupt, and others to prove that he wasn't washed up. He came back to his old formulas of West Coast beats and lyricism. Nas made the introspective album of I Am with the most respectful tribute to Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. Mobb Deep, Phraoahe Monch, Q-Tip released music. B.G., Slick Rick, Jay Z, Prince Paul, MF Doom (who has a massive underground fan base), Nia, Soundboombing II, etc. had songs. Jean Grae in 1999 shown music too. Jean Grae is one of the greatest MCs of all time. Eve released her album of Let There Be Eve to represent Philly and her talent. Ja Rule had Venni Vetti Vecci. Ja Rule worked in the industry during the 1990's. He made music with Jay Z, DMX, Mic Geronimo, and other people. By this time, Snoop was in No Limit Records to leave Death Row. 1999 was a time of releasing new projects and older rappers establishing their marks as legends from Rakim to Gang Starr. Tech N9ne established music to make him one of the greatest lyricists of all time. E-40, Public Enemy, and 8Ball and MJG expressed themselves. In 1999, Eminem made the Slim Shady LP. This was his 2nd album from Aftermath. Back in 1999, many people didn't know what to make of Eminem. People questioned whether this guy was for real or whether he was putting on an act. His biggest support was the late Proof. Proof was not just one of the most powerful people in Detroit in the hip hop world. He was a peacemaker who wanted to put Detroit rappers on. He was the bridge that allowed people to appreciate Detroit hip hop on a regular basis. He opened shows to allow hip hop artists in Detroit to show their skills and represent their life. Eminem was born in St. Joseph Missouri. Later, he lived in Michigan. He was bullied and beaten up massively. He lived in Detroit. His 1999 album had graphic imagery. Slim Shady as his alter ego. This album was about his life, his fantasies, and his imaginations (filled with tales of graphic details). Eminem is lyrical, and even the most strongest hater of Eminem admits to this. Yet, many times, Eminem lacks the soul to let the music to come to him. He usually allows to try to beat the music. By 1999, he reached a new era of massive popularity. His early songs of My Name I and Guilty Conscience was heavily influenced by Dr. Dre beat wise. With out Dr. Dre, there is no Em as he is today.

The year of 2000 witnessed both major artists releasing album like OutKast with Stankonia, Ghostface's Supreme Clientele, Common's Like Water for Chocolate, Jay Z's The Dynasty, COP Warriorz, Slum Village, Snoop's The Last Meal, and Canibus's 2000 B.C. Also, it saw newer artists having their shine like Nelly's Country Grammar, Ludacris's Back for the First Time, Beanie Sigel's The Truth, Black Eyed Peas' Bridging the Gap, Ja Rule's 3:36, etc. Many artists who have performed for years have continued ot make music like Wu Tang Clan, Jedi Mind Tricks, Xzhibit, Ice Cube, Lil Kim, Dead Prez, Nature, Cam'ron, Cypress Hill, Jungle Brothers. 2000 also saw Eminem's most controversial album called The Marshall Mathers LP. It was released in May 23, 2000. It talked about school shootings, censorship, Bill Clinton, and other issues. His album was protested by many groups. It was filled with the old school horrocore sub genre of hip hop along with satirical music. It had many people from D12, Snoop, Nate Dogg, Xzhibit, RBX, Dido, etc. It won awards, and his supporters cite it as his best album. It sold over 25 million copies worldwide. The album criticized the pop groups of NYSNC and Backstreet Boys. Many of these pop group tried to mimic establish legendary groups like Backstreet Boys and SWV. Middle America in many cases hypocritically criticized rap music, but some of them loved movies with violence, torture, profanity, and other disturbing imagery. I certainly don't follow Eminem's agenda or views on mocking Michael Jackson, MC Hammer, and other black performers. Em a'int no King of hip hop. Rakim saying that if Em was black, he will be Muhammad Ali was disappointing. Em never apologized for mocking Michael Jackson and MC Hammer. Eminem lied about Lauryn Hill as calling her hating white people, when Lauryn never said those words. His song role model shows his mentality. Eminem also made sexual allegations against the legendary Mariah Carey that Mariah has always denied. I believe Mariah Carey.  During the Up in Smoke tour back in 2000, there is video evidence of Em saying the n word. He has gone out of his way to admit that he wants to be like Elvis to make black music to make himself wealthy. Em is like the other gangster rappers who glamorized violence, drug abuse, and straight nihilism.  Some black people have to get over their fears of this false white god and speak truth to power. Another vulture is Post Malone. Rap is about allowing the flow and rhythm to speak your mind. Hip Hop deals with soul, funk, and poetry with rhythm. Even as a child, I know this. You can make a case that hip hop is a cousin to disco. That is why the powers that be wanted to destroy disco and exploit hip hop for nefarious purposes. That is why we will always defend black music.

2001 saw the battle of Jay Z and Nas coming in public view. Back in the 1990's, Jay Z admired Nas and was in one song with Lord Tariq. Nas was cool with Jay z, but Nas wasn't obsessive with the man. Jay Z wanted Nas to be on records, but Nas declined. Later, Nas made a subliminal shot at Jay Z in the song We Will Survive saying it's not about being New York's King. Later, Jay Z responded with words in Is That Your Chick song talking disrespectful about Nas' on and off girlfriend Carmen Bryant. Memphis Bleek criticized Nas and Nas responded with Queens artists in one song. Jay' Z's Blueprint album came in 2001.

Before it came bout, Jay Z overtly criticized Nas and Mobb Deep in a song Takeover. Nas was dealing with his mother dying. At first, Nas made a response, but it wasn't powerful enough. Then, Nas made Ether, and it was game over. Nas won the battle, because Ether was personal despite the claims. It was charged and lyrical. Jay Z responded with Suger Ugly, but Super Ugly was forced, didn't have the power, and was too late. Both would take shots against each other until they ended their feud in 2006. Jay Z's Blueprint album solidified Jay Z as one of the 10 greatest rappers of all time. Before, people knew that Jay Z was a great rapper, but people were in denial if he was the man who would gain the ring of the legends. With that  album, Jay Z became a legend. A young Kanye West worked on that album too. Nas made the classic album of Stillmatic in 2001 too. D12, Ghostface, Redman, Beanie Sigel with the Reason, Wu Tang Clan, Eve's Scorpion, Aesop, Cormega, De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, DMX, and Hi Tek made music. Missy Elliot's So Addictive was an album with beats, imagery, lyrics, and creative power. Pete Rock , Ludacris, Lil Jon, Foxy Brown, Fab, Jadakiss, Ja Rule, Dilated Peoples, TechN9ne, Mobb Deep, and other artists made sounds that were powerful. Tupac's posthumous Until the End of Time in 2001 was very influential. It showcased Tupac's emotion and lyrical power. P. Diddy released the Saga Continues. It was the album that showed the influence of the Bad Boy legacy. 2002 in hip hop was another year that had a balance of East Coast and West Coast hip hop along with the growing power of Southern hip hop that would dominate hip hop in general. Jay Z released Blueprint 2 that focused on his life, his fued with Nas, and other topics. Nelly released Nellyville, and Eminem released the Eminem Show. Scarfare, The Clipse, Nas' God's Son, Eve's Eve-Olution, Cam'ron, and the Roots had music. Missy had Under Construction. The Lost Tapes was released by Nas. Music from Wyclef, 8Mile, Nappy Roots, and other people were abundant. Lil Wayne with 500 Degreez increased his power in the industry. Lil Jon, Snoop, Busta Rhymes, AZ, Ying Yang twins, Ja Rule, Canibus, GZA, Big Tymers, etc. shown that hip hop is alive.

2003 was the year with some of the greatest hip hop albums and movements around. OutKast released The Love Below/Speakerboxx. That albums was about the respect shown to Andre 300 and Big Boi. Both men had different styles, but they unified to make music come alive. Hip hop is not just about one thing or one concept. Andre 3000 showed the truth that hip hop is multifaceted in its composition. Jay Z released The Black Album in 2003 which further made him a legend. The Black Album was one of his greatest albums. Ludacris, Canibus, Obie Trice, TI's Trap Muzik, Freeway, the Diplomats, Gang Starr, and other musicians focused on their music. 50 Cent released Get Rich or Die Tryin' in 2003. 50 Cent was a man who lived a rough life from being shot 9 times, battling foes, knowing Supreme McGriff, and hustling, etc. His life wasn't an easy situation. He formed G-Unit to show their music. People know about their feuds with Murder Inc and other people. Back in 2003, 50 Cent exploded in the scene with funding from Dr. Dre and Eminem. I don't agree with 50 Cent's pettiness, putting his hands on women, and on other issues. The Neptunes, Lil Kim, Killer Mike, Bubba Sparks, Sole, Missy, Jedi Mind Trick, YoungBloodz had music back then too. 2004 saw the increase of trap and crunk music in hip hop. It saw Kanye West releasing his first album of The College Dropout. His famous song of Jesus Walks sparked debate and made people aware there there is nos shame in being spiritual. The Tipping Point of the Roots was a very lyrical album. Murs, Madvillain, Beastie Boys, Masta Ace, MF Doom, Nas's Street Disciple (when he was dating Kelis), De La Soul, Young Buck, De La Soul, Eminem, Cam'ron, Royce, Brand Nubian, Mos Def, LL Cool J, Twista, Talib Kweli, R.A. the Rugged Man, TI, Ludacris, Nelly, and others showed their music to the world. 2005 saw hip hop increasingly embrace the Texas sound of chopped and screwed music. Mike Jones and Paul Wall were popular. Lil Wayne released the Carter II. The Game and Kanye West made albums. Beanie Sigel, Ying Yang Twins, Common, Chamillionaire made songs. Krayzie Bone, MIA, 50 Cent, Bleek, Guru, and Missy Elliot were on the charts. Jeezy made the 2005 album of his story. Public Enemy made their comeback album. By the year of 2006 in hip hop, it was a new era. Legends continues to spread their talents along with new artists. One of these new artists was Lupe Fiasco who made the album of Food and Liquor. Lupe was born in Chicago and his relatives were involved in the black consciousness movement. Nas made Hip Hopis Dead.  TI made the King album. The Roots, Ghostface, J Dilla, Luadcris, The Game, Murs, Rick Ross, and others

*That is why I always mention that the greatest rappers not only can rhyme words together. They have the perfect combination of pitch, flow, rhythm, and content (from speaking about conscious issues, love, the streets, dance, etc. The most versatile rappers in my view are the greatest. How you say the words and how you move the crowd matters. I have to feel what you say). You can't say words that promote nihilism and no upliftment of especially black people and be considered the GOAT.

One of the most wickedest, racist, and hypocritical movements in American history was the Reagan Conservative Revolution. The problem with that movement is that it believes in the lie that someone's background determines inferiority or superiority. Even before the tapes have shown Reagan making a racist remark about black Africans to Nixon, we, as black people, already knew that Ronald Reagan was a racist, an extremist, and a person who was wrong ideologically. To understand the Reagan Revolution, we have to go back. A very long time ago, Americans debated on the role of government. Some Americans wanted a strong central government to protect human rights, and others wanted a weak central government to protect the interests of farmers, slaveowners, and others. The Constitution is explicit that the government has every right to promote the post office and other infrastructure. Thomas Jefferson was clear that he wanted states' rights and a weakened central federal government. Jefferson owned slaves and believed in the myth of black intellectual inferiority that Benjamin Banneker rightfully refuted him on. Jefferson even wanted France to dominate Haiti, and he never recognized Haiti's independence in 1804. Later, the U.S. Civil War happened. The Confederacy wanted to not have a strong federal government, but they desired slavery to exist under the guise of "state's rights." Others inspired Lincoln to promote the Union and defeat the Confederate enemy. Then, racists used the guise of "state's rights"  in depraving black Americans voting rights and other fundamental human rights during Reconstruction, Jim Crow apartheid, etc. Today, we have the same far right states' rights folks want to deprive human beings of federal protections dealing with health care, immigration rights, gun regulations, and other matters via the Tea Party movement, Trump supporters, etc. Many of the same ones who supported Jim Crow and no civil rights are many of the same ones who ally with Trump. We know about how a tree is know by its fruits. A rotten tree of reactionary extremism came from a rotten ideological root. This is the bigoted foundation of the Reagan Revolution. Ronald Reagan ironically was once liberal being for FDR until the 1950's. Reagan became an anti-Communist zealot, he was governor of California by 1966, and he ran for President in 1968 and 1976. He lost in both years. He won in 1980. First, he used the Southern Strategy and galvanized support among anti-communists, Evanegelical conservatives, neo-cons, and other people on the right. The Southern Strategy was a coded strategy where GOP members exploited divisions in America (including scapegoating black people and other minorities) to gain support of southern whites to vote for Republicans. Reagan used the welfare queen stereotype in trying to get votes in 1980. Reagan said that the federal government was overspent, overstimulated, and overegulated. Reagan defeated George H. W. Bush in the primary, and later Bush Sr. was his Vice President. After his October 28, 1980 debate with Jimmy Carter, Reagan 's popularity soared. He widen his lead to win the election. He had 44 states. The GOP had the Senate and the Democrats had the House. Reagan kept a diary. He believed in individual freedom, expanding the military, and an end to the Cold War. Reagan wanted school prayer to exist in schoola. He was nearly killed by John Hinckley Jr. James Brady was paralyzed. This contributed to the Brady bill that related to gun control legislation. Reagan fired striking air traffic controllers. Reagan used Reaganomics and neoliberal policies. Reagan was in support of tax cuts, but he raised taxes in certain instances. He was filled with austerity promoted by cutting federal assistance to local governments, cutting housing budgeting, and eliminating the Community Development Block program. This increased economic inequality among the rich and poor. Reagan tired to purge many people with disabilities from the Social Security disability rolls which was cruel. Reagan expanded the U.S. military and was aggressive in order ot end the Soviet Union. To him, communism was an enemy that must be defeated as agreed to by Margaret Thatcher. Reagan used the CIA to fund anti-Communist movements. He helped to fund the Mujahideen in Afghanistan to defeat the Soviets. He promoted the SDI in space. After he defeated Walter Mondale in 1984, he saw a new era. Reagan opposed diverstment from South Africa, because he believed in the myth that gradually talking with the oppressive regime would make apartheid end gradually. Freedom is not up to a clock. Freedom is meant for all ASAP. Reagan vetoed an Anti-Apartheid Act with sanctions. Congress overwritten that veto. The Golden Rule or loving your neighbor as yourself is righteous, but the Reagan Revolution harmed the lives of the poor and the oppression. Being a peacemaker is important, but the Reagan Revolution would risk war against the Soviet Union as a means for them to promote political agendas.

By 1985, the Soviet Union was rapidly declining in power politically, socially, and economically. America has grown its military exponentially. The Soviet Union's problem was that they focused too much on military expenditures without developing their domestic economies greatly. There was inefficient planned manufacturing, collectivized agriculture, and oil prices fell in 1985. Oil was the main source of Soviet export revenues. This caused a stagnant Soviet economy. Reagan made a speech in 1983 to religious fundamentalists on the means to defeat the Soviets. He called the Soviet Union the evil Empire. He wanted an arms buildup in order for the Soviets to renegotiate a deal. He praised liberal democracy as a way to end Soviet Communism. Gorbachev rose up in the Soviet Union, because the Soviets were in a desperate situation. Mikhail Gorbachev wanted more compromise, and Reagan soon appreciated this policy shift. Reagan and Gorbachev worked on their relationship to make four summit conferences between 1985 and 1988. The first was in Geneva, Switzerland, the second was in Reykjavik, Iceland, the third was in Washington, D.C., and the fourth one was in Moscow. Reagan wanted the Soviets to allow more democracy and free speech in order to end Communism. No deal was reach at Reykjavik in October of 1986.Yet, Reagan and Gorbachev agreed to abolish all nuclear weapons which shocked conservatives. Reagan didn't want to end SDI claiming that it was defensive only. Gorchaev was the Communist Party General Secretary in March of 1985. Gorbachev was a person of the new generalization  who wanted political and economic liberalization along with better relations with the West.

By 1985, the end was coming. The question was that whether the end would be peaceful or violent. By 1985 to 1991, surprising events happened. The end of the Cold War was not peaceful. It ended with much violence.Yet, millions of people would be free from the bondage of Soviet styled Communism. After the tyrant of Stalin died, tons of people have the misconception that all forms of socialism is equivalent to the views of Stalin. That is a lie, because dedicated socialists believe in democratic rights, but Stalin and Soviet Union readily used policies that violated the democratic rights of human beings. Trotsky warned that Stalinism would cause the Soviet workers to end in a catastrophe. He was proven right. The USSR after the rise of Joseph Stalin, on which the Eastern bloc satellite regimes were modeled--were ruled by a small minority, while the experience of the working majority wasn't of freedom and democracy, but of exploitation, oppression and alienation from any kind of social and political control. When you strip away the rhetoric of how the rulers of the East described themselves, what you see are systems that reflected the basic features of capitalism as we know it in the U.S.--with a small minority having preemptive control over what happened in society, what resources were used, and who enjoyed greater privileges and power. Gorbachev would use policies of perestroika which was bourgeois changes to compromise. The bureaucracy of the Soviets ultimately caused Eastern European nations to be integrated into the world capitalist economy with the restoration of capitalism. Peterestrokia and glasnost promoted by the Stalinist bureaucracy was the beginning of the end of the Cold War plus of the Soviet Union as we know it. As early as 1987, many propped up Yeltsin. So, from 1985 to 1991, a new era existed.

The late Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth was a giant of social activism. He fought to defeat Jim Crow apartheid. He preached at Birmingham, Alabama. As a co-founder of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, he worked in the Birmingham Campaign of 1963 and in the Selma movement. By 1961, he worked in Cincinnati, Ohio to fight poverty and homelessness. He lived form 1922 to 2011. He was born in Mount Meigs, Alabama. He was a pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church in Birmingham in 1953 and was part of the Alabama state chapter of the NAACP. He and Ed Gardner formed the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights (ACMHR). Shuttlesworth was threatened by racists in the 1950's. Also, His home was blown up. Her earned a B.A. in 1951 from Selma University. He worked with Joseph Loery, T.J. Jemison, Ella Baker, Dr. King, and other leaders of the Civil Rights Movement. He was in the sit ins and the Freedom Rides. He worked with Diana Nash. Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth worked in Greater New Light Baptist Church in 1966. He helped families to find housing. He received awards too. He loved his wife and children. He married Sephira Bailey in 2006. He retired, and later he passed away on October 5, 2011 at the age of 89 at Birmingham, Alabama. His flags were flown half staff in Alabama. He was buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Birmingham. He was a hero and an icon.

The judge Amy Coney Barrett is Trump's Supreme Court nominee.  She graduated from Notre Dame. It is clear on what she wants. Barrett and her family are part of the People of Peace group. This group is a secret ultra conservative group that wants a loyalty oath to promote men as heads of the family and submissive roles for women. Amy  Barrett is a Catholic, but there should be no religious test in public office. In other words, a qualified non-Catholic or a Catholic person shouldn't be discriminated against in holding office if he or she is qualified to have that office. The problem is that Barrett has written before that she believes that Catholicism should affect a judge's jurisprudence. We have a separation of church and state for a reason. I believe in God, but I won't impose my religious views on another person unjustly. We don't use coercion in expressing our faith. She was a former law clerk to conservative Justice Antonin Scalia. She was only a judge for three years. Barrett criticized 2 Supreme Court decisions that largely upheld Obamacare against partisan attacks. That is why some speculate that if she is in the Supreme Court, she could vote to undercut the Affordable Care Act. That can strip health care from millions of Americans during a pandemic. She will deal with questions on Roe v. Wade and on other issues. Barrett believes in an expansion of the 2nd Amendment.

This form of music was iconic. Some of the most powerful, inspirational forms of music existed during the 1990's. I love 90's music. The 1990's was a time where most of my childhood existed. It was a time of a Golden Age of R&B music. Pop music was very popular along with teen pop and dance pop music. Also, music merged the styles of soul, funk, and jazz into creating new jack swing, neo-soul, hip hop soul, and g-funk. House, techno, and wave were in abundance. The 1990's had many classic soloist musicians. Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Deborah Cox, Toni Braxton, Mary J. Blige, CeCe Peniston, Boyz II Men, Prince, Anita Baker, Babyface, Montell Jordan, Jodeci, Dru Hill, TLC, Mariah Carey, etc. dominated the charts. From I Will Always Love You in 1992 to the Soundtrack of the movie The Preacher's Wife, Whitney was that legend. Mariah Carey shown quiet storm songs in the early 1990's and became more diverse to incorporate more hip hop elements in her music with songs like Honey. Mariah made hit after hit like Vision of Love, Daydream, etc. The 1990's R&B sound was heavily influenced by the gospel tradition. Harmonies were common with Boyz II Men and Michael Jackson. R&B artists like Mark Morrison, Faith Evans, 112, Toni Braxon, En Vogue, and others had shown outstanding music. From TLC making huge records about romance and self respect and Aaliyah making love songs with soul, it was not a dull time. Groups had great genius. The neo-soul movement stood out with D'Angelo, Luaryn Hill, Maxwell, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Erykah Badu. The sounds of Dionne Harris, Groove Theory, and Kenny Lattimore were definitely unsung. This time of music was just soulful and magnificent. People danced and enjoyed their lives. The crime rate started to decline. Flavor was diverse in fashion. Also, it was a time where people debated racial issues, economic issues, and other political matters. Sports dynasties like the Chicago Bulls made us honor athletics. A large amount of diverse, creative African American TV shows and movies shown a fair picture of black American life from Roc to A Different World. To understand R&B music is to honor the creative power of the 1990's.

The era of 2006 to 2012 focused on many themes of hip hop. This time saw a temporary decline of hip hop sales. Snap music was popular with Dem Franchize Boyz, D4L, and Soulja Boy. Many people criticized these forms of music for various reasons. Young artists self published songs in the Internet. In 2006, no rap albums were among the top 10 sellers. Digital music increased. There was a lack of sampling during 2006 too. This decline was done in part of it being too expensive for producers. Styles changed. This time saw the continuation of artists like The Black Eyed Peas, Rick Ross, and other people. Ringtones, blogs, and other sources of media allowed artists to creatively gain influence in the music industry. Later in that era of time, hip hop and innovation grew in the form of alternative hip hop. Gangsta rap declined its commercial value. This was shown on how Kanye West's Graduation won out against 50 Cent's Curtis. Innovative rap like Kanye's 808s and Heartbreak would influence more artists. This time saw music from Jay Z, K'naan, Kid Cudi, and Drake. Also, emerging artists like Wale, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Lupe, Jay Electronica, and B.o.B shined. T-Pain promoted auto-tune. By the year of 2010, we saw a new generation of hip hop artists coming up like Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Nipsey Hussle, Pill, Freddie Gibbs, Jay Rock, Asher Roth, Logic, and other people. This time was a mixture of legendary artists and new innovative artists who carried hip hop into the 2nd decade of the 21st century.

Life will Continue.

People have the right to be outraged. Our ancestors were brought on ships against their wills, oppressed, and brutalized for economic exploitation and social degradation for centuries via the Maafa (and slavery). Today, it is a horrendous fact that the murder of a black woman has not caused justice for a grieving family. The justice system for a long time has shown the world that it doesn't respect black human life. The grand jury gave a disgraceful indictment against one officer. An Attorney General Daniel Cameron (who is a a traitor. He is a disgrace to black Americans) trying to justify this token act shows us that all skin folk aren't kinfolk. Cameron said the lie that the officers were justified in their actions, but many witnesses said that the officers didn't knock or announce themselves. Louisville, Kentucky is a city that has been through a lot from Jim Crow apartheid to police injustice. The indicted officer (who shot a weapon in a window recklessly) is only indicted on 3 counts of wanton endangerment in the 1st degree. That's it. Jonathan Mattingly and Myles Cosgrove are not charged with any crime. Mattingly has shown recent emails that mocked legitimate civil rights probes, claimed FBI agents aren't cops, and desires the status quo. Mattingly's despicable words should shock no one. Many police officers have been lawless for centuries, and Mattingly's nonsense should always be condemned. This announcement has opened up wounds. Now, National Guard has arrived in Louisville. As black folks, we knew that a decision like this will come. We witnessed such erroneous, offensive decisions for years and decades of our lifetimes.

The prosecutor and the Attorney General in Kentucky are Trump supporters. Trump has advocated violence in many speeches, but the Attorney General hypocritically wants protesters to not be violent. Trump has sympathized with white nationalists (which even the FBI cited as a major terrorist threat in American society). Breonna Taylor was a woman who saved human lives daily in Kentucky as a compassionate nurse. She never deserved death, and the nerve of some officers to try to slander her life after her passing makes the blue wall of silence ever real. Police should never have carte blanche to do whatever they want. Officers didn't wear body cameras during the time of Taylor's passing. Now, far right militias (like the National Patriot Defense League) are in the area, but black people have disagreed with far right militias for a long time. There is a rule of law and justice for a reason. The real thugs aren't us. The real thugs are those who harm innocent black life causing tremendous pain and heartache for black families. Breonna Taylor's death was more than some tragedy. It was a murder. It's a shame that justice for her isn't realized currently.

Black Lives Matter.

Today, we know the truth. Trump has publicly not ruled out peacefully transitioning power. He continued to demonize mail in voting. He believes that voting dealing with mail in ballots relates to fraud which is a lie. Trump wants a reactionary new Supreme Court Justice. Trump wants nine justices on the court to overthrow democratically protected laws. That is why Trump wants to use contingency plans to appoint loyal electors in battleground states in order to steal the election from the popular vote. This comes after protests come in Louisville, D.C., NYC, Milwaukee, New York City, and other places of America after the wicked Breonna Taylor decision. Trump is not trying to support reason. He is using authoritarianism as his goal. That is why he used the June 1 speech to threaten to use Insurrection Act to deploy the military against domestic protests. Ruth Bader Ginsburg's body at the U.S. Capitol was the first time a woman was having a Capitol Hill ceremony celebrating her life. The rabbi at the ceremony was powerful. We should use this time to be inspired to advance social justice. American democracy is being harmed by one of the worst Presidents in history. That is why people should vote. Voting deals with school boards, Presidents, judges, DAs, Attorney Generals, etc. Voting deals with our health care, education, our environment, our housing, our resources, and our communities.

Tariq Nasheed is at it again with him being obsessive with Kamala Harris by questioning her ethnicity, her relationship life, and her political history. Tariq is the ultimate hypocrite for many reasons. He talks about Kamala's ethnicity, but his wife is a biracial woman. How can he criticize IRs that he doesn't approve of, but he has a white mother in law. He has not apologized for making music back in the day that glorified violence and the exploitation of women. Kamala never did that. Tariq is the person who said that black single mothers are not entitled to reparations which is ludicrous. Tariq Nasheed is known for his misogynoir, especially in his wicked books like the Art of Macking, The Mack Within, etc. Macking relates to exploitation, manipulation, and deceit. True people never use deceit in developing romantic relationships. Nasheed loves the FBA movement, but he is known for making derogatory comments about Afro-Caribbean people. Tariq is a known xenophobe. Years ago, he lusted after white women in Brazil, and he said that he lusts after Brooke Hogan (whose father said the n word), but he claims to be some black superhero of consciousness. Real ones know about Tariq's secrets that he does behind closed doors. Tariq Nasheed said that he wants tangibles, but even Kamala has written policies and done things that has helped the black community for a long time. One example is that Kamala Harris worked with civil rights activist Lateefah Simon to form the San Francisco Reentry Division. This program helped many young people to live better lives after paying their debts to society. The program was very successful. Kamala Harris fought against economic fraud. She has been a leader in environmental protection policies in America. Likewise, it is important to note that Kamala Harris made mistakes which I make no justifications for. I want to make that clear. Tariq has no policies to help black people involving housing, economic inequality, education, the environment, and other real issues. I don't know how any man or especially any woman supports Tariq Nasheed, because he has a known track record of disrespecting women. Nasheed doesn't even support Black Love (and Black Love is beautiful), because he constantly ignores the truth that being politically engaged by voting and refusing to use anti-black racial slurs against black people is the ultimate form of showing respect to black people. One of the biggest lies of Nasheed is him saying "Voting  is useless." Doesn't this liar know that if voting is useless, why do reactionary people in the GOP funded policies to restrict voting rights in states for years? Jim Crow apartheid was about grandfather clauses and suppressing the black vote. That is why people fought for the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act. That was created by the sacrifice of our ancestors and people voting. So, voting is very useful. That is why Tariq is an agent in my view, because he refuses to promote political activism in getting solutions accomplished. We don't need economic growth alone. We need both political and economic growth in getting real black liberation. Now, many people know the truth.

One of the most interesting finds of my ancestry was finding out that many of my distant paternal cousins live in West Virginia and Indiana. Many of them don't know a single thing about me, but I know my ancestry. To start, many of my paternal ancestors came from the Eastern Shore in Virginia. My 4th great grandfather was George Perkins I who was born in 1815. His wife was Esther Perkins.  Their song was George Perkins II (1847-1932). His son was Sophonia Perkins (1870-1926).She was my first cousin. She married Sam Casey (1863-1938) and the couple lived in North Carolina. Their daughter was Nannie Rebecca Casey (1890-1943). She married Charles W. Smallwood (b. 1888). This couple moved from North Carolina into West Virginia. The couple had many children like James Bethel Smallwood (1923-1981). James was my 3rd cousin. His wife was Geneva L. Cox (1922-1995). One of their children are Deborah Zoe Smallwood (born in 1955). She was born in West Virginia and moved into South Bend, Indiana.

3-Count Felon, JPMorgan Chase, Caught Laundering More Dirty Money

Dangerous Streamlining: Emergencies, Militarisation and Civil Liberties

 https://www.counterpunch.org/2020/09/23/dangerous-streamlining-emergencies-militarisation-and-civil-liberties/

A Future in the Making.

Now, we live in a time of total changes. As the body of the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be seen by many people at the Supreme Court building, people are now debating the future of the court. This year of 2020 has been a year of untold changes to the world society. Yesterday, former Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney said that he would support Trump's nominees to vote before November 3. Romney once again shown his true colors as not an independent arbitrator of reason, but he capitulated to the interest of Donald Trump. This comes into the reality of another far right justice being placed on the courts by Trump. The President appoints the proposed judges, and the Senate either confirms or rejects the nominee. If a far right judge is on the court, then democratic rights could be eliminated by future decisions. The top Democratic leader of the Senate Charles Summer criticized the GOP's hypocrisy on wanting no judges to be proposed before the election was over in 2016, but they changed their minds in 2020. Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin refuse to extend federal government benefits immediately. Right now, we have the civil rights, voting rights, social rights, and other rights under threat. Trump and the Republicans are having open war against the working class. The Supreme Court further drifts to the right and advance capitalist interests has been promoted by reactionaries for a long time now.

An important story is how authorities arrested 3 men and one woman in connection with the death of a black man, whose body was found burned in an Iowa rural location. One man is now facing first degree murder and abuse of a corpse charges. This is one of the most disturbing stories of our time. The victim was a family man named Michael Williams. He was only 44 years old from Grinnell. He loved his children. Williams was a grandfather too. He passed away by the actions of evil people. Grinnell College cancelled classes on Monday to promote inclusion and equality. When the life of one innocent man is lost, then it is threat against all human life. Friends of Michael Williams set up a GoFundMe campaign that raised more than $30,000 in helping the Williams family. During these days, treating your neighbor as yourself should always be respected. The Golden Rule is a Universal Law. Racial injustice, murder, police brutality, and any form of oppression has no place anywhere in the Universe. BuzzFeed News had a published report on the many major U.S. and international banks having a role in laundering money. This money has circulated in the trillions of dollars in dirty money from terrorist groups, drug cartels, and other financial criminals. BuzzFeed reported that this money would travel around the global economy. We know that money laundering is a crime. It can harm economic system, drain public funds, and harm democracy. It can destabilize nations too. The report has more than 22,000 pages of documents over 10,000 subjects and involved more than 170 countries plus territories.

Trump wants to announce a replacement pick during this week. Many people like McConnell and Graham (who are Republicans) hypocritically didn't want this in 2016 when Obama was President. Now, they want this to happen. Some Republican Senators, who are in close races, want to wait for the nomination until after the election. Trump wants new nominee before the election is over. This election is the most important election of our lifetimes. Another justice from Trump could eliminate environmental protections, eliminate health care protections, eliminate affirmative action, promote immunity for cops who violate the law, and disrupt women's rights. That is why voting for a third party is not an option for me. Justice is certainly on the ballot.

I think 2020 is different than 2016 in many ways. 2020 to me is similar, not equivalent. to 1968. 2020 is a tipping point in our history. After 400 years from 1619, something has to give. We have a pandemic killing over 200,000 Americans. We have increased racial tensions, increased hate crimes, and a powerful, diverse movement against police brutality (and for racial justice). That movement has seen record protests in America, Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, etc. That has never happened in our lifetimes. I have never seen this magnitude of protests in my life. Every major city in America having protests including small towns is certainly historic (along with the bringing down of racist Confederate statues). We have rebellions in cities in such frequency never witnessed in American history since 1968 and the American Civil War. We have a massive discussion about reparations for black Americans that has reached even into mainstream discussion. Also, 2020 is when we have the Supreme Court in the balance and economic dislocation for many. Also, there is the elephant in the room. Biden is crippling away at some of the white vote (especially white women). Also, Georgia, Arizona, and Iowa are in play. That has never happened in 2016. I'm going to repeat that Georgia is in place. Never in my lifetime on this Earth will I assume that Georgia could be blue. People can say what they want about Virginia, but we voted blue since 2008. We will witness either a victory for justice or neo-fascism continuing for 4 more years.

Some sad news is the legendary singer Pamela Hutchinson (of the great R&B, soul group of the Emotions) passed away recently recently. The Emotions was a group that was a large part of legendary talent. Pamela Hutchinson was raised in a time where great artists were widespread in American culture. Her sisters Wanda and Sheila are part of the Emotions too based in Chicago. The Emotions was a very influential group who started in the 1960's. The Emotions influenced artists like En Vogue, Anita Baker, Shanice, Regina Bella, Lalah Hathaway, Jade, Fantasia, Erykah Badu, and I can further go down the list. The Emotions' songs like Best of My Love, Shouting Out Love, Smile, Boogie Wonderland (with Earth, Wind, and Fire) are always timeless classics. Chicago is certainly home to a lot of black excellence. Pamela Hutchinson was 61 years.

Rest in Power Sister Pamela Hutchinson.

Monday News in the World.

Fannie Lou Hamer also used her spiritual faith to inspire her to fight for freedom. She was a leader who was courageous in every sense of the world. She fought for voting rights and the rights of women. She worked in the community and stood up against the Democratic establishment when she wanted the Freedom Democratic Party to have fair representation at the 1964 Democratic National Convention. She also organized Mississippi's Freedom Summer along with the SNCC. Fannie Lou Hamer was born in Montgomery County, Mississippi. She experienced racism and sharecropping. All of the time she used spiritual hymnals and quotes to led the Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi. Hamer never backed down. She was as aulted by racists and the police. She was harassed, shot at, and lied about. Yet, the spirit of a heroic black woman can never be broken. She flew with power, eloquence, and black Southern determination to bear witness for the truth and to fight for human justice simultaneously. Fannie Lou Hamer loved to promote cooperatives. Also, she fought against the Vietnam War as an unjust war. She loved to read and recite poetry. She was a victim of a forced hysterectomy by a doctor without her consent. In other words, she was a victim of forced sterilization. Her and her husband adopted 2 black girls. Malcolm X always praised Hamer including Gloria Richardson, because Malcolm X knew that black women being leaders for our freedom must always be respected plus recognized. Fannie Lou Hamer fought for agricultural development, housing rights, and nutrition for Americans. She was a powerful warrior for freedom.

Rev. James Lawson Jr. has lived on this Earth for 92 years on this Earth. He was an university professor who for over 60 years fought for freedom and justice. She believed in the nonviolence tactic of the Civil Rights Movement. Even during the funeral of the late John Lewis during the Summer of 2020, Rev. James Lawson never backed down from his commitment to nonviolent resistance. Later, he was a mentor to the Nashville Student Movement and the Student Nonvilent Coordinating Committee. His activism caused him to be expelled from Vanderbilt University in 1960. Rev. James Lawson was born in 1928. He has been a pastor in Los Angeles for 25 years. The Bible does cite helping the poor, standing up for justice, and believe in rejecting injustice. He was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Massillon, Ohio. Rev. James Lawson worked with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on many endeavors from protests to the 1968 Memphis Sanitation strike. The 1968 Memphis strike was about black sanitation workers being tired of lacking wages and human dignity. They were discriminated against, mocked, and hated on, but they had every right to protest for union rights and just plain human rights. The reactionary mayor Henry Leob refused to unionize the workers, but the Memphis workers won the battle after the evil 1968 assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Rev. Lawson studied theology all throughout his life. He trained many of the future leaders of the Civil Rights Movement at Nashville like Diane Nash, James Bevel, Bernard Lafayette, Marion Barry, and John Lewis.  Rev. Lawson has worked in the labor rights and other movements too. He certainly educated many people to fight for our rightful liberation.

The 1980's had the flourishing of legendary R&B singers. The group Midnight Star were formed in 1976 at Kentucky State University. They are based at Frankfort, Kentucky. Their original members were Reggie Calloway, Belinda Lipscomb, Melvin Genry, Kennerth Gant, Bill Simmons, Bo Watson, and Jeff Cooper. They were made with help from SOLAR Records leader Dick Griffey. Their debut album was The Beginning in 1980. Their songs like Midas Touch, Love Song, You're Star, etc. was clear on its expression. Also, one of the greatest entertainers of all time was Michael Jackson. He dominated the 1980's with albums, hits, and awards. His albums of Thriller and Bad influential modern day videos and music to this very day. Michael Jackson helped to break down racist barriers in music as a pop icon. He popularized the moonwalk and the robot. Michael Jackson is the most awarded artist in the history of popular music. One of the most powerful singers of the 1980's was Phyllis Hyman. She was a legend from the 1980's and beyond. She was a singer, songwriter, and actress. Phyllis encouraged the development of more black owned businesses and more black representation in the music industry. She loved theater as she was in the Broadway 1981 musical that was based on the music of Duke Ellington. The musical was called Sophisticated Ladies lasting from 1981 to 1983. Phyllis Linda Hyman (1949-1995) was born in Philadelphia. The man from the Cosby show named Earle Hyman is her cousin. Phyllis' father was a World War II veteran named Phillip Hyman and her mother was Louise Hyman. Her hit song of Can't We Fall in Love Again? was a classic with Michael Henderson. She also loved opera, jazz, and other genres of music. She was on films like School Daze in 1988 that exposed colorism and other divisions as evil. By 1991, her album Prime of My Life was the biggest album of her career. She was a kind soul and a gentle spirit. She will be missed. A person with one of the greatest voices of all time was Mary Vesta Williams. Vesta Williams had a four octave vocal range. Her songs of Sweet Sweet Love (1998) and other music remain part of iconic status. She was born in Coshocton, Ohio. Artists like Al Jarreau, George Duke, James Ingram, Angela Boifil, Luther Vandross, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight, Teena Marie, and El Debarge are legends who made the 1980's one of the most talented decades in human history in terms of music.

The music of the 1980's was a golden age of creativity and power. Massive new experimentation of sounds and technologies were abundant. People wanted to use drum machines, synthesizers, and other devices to perfect their expression. Also, there were diverse singers like Sade, Anita Baker, and Miki Howard. People loved talent and wanted to dance too. Disco never died, as their descendants like house music was available. Also, by the 1990's, disco inspired songs would make a huge comeback. The 1980's also saw the internationalization of popular music with the advent of people like Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Anita Baker, Whitney Houston, and Prince. From Lionel Richie's ballads to The Pointer Sisters, there is that massive creativity involving 1980's music. Music videos became more complex and unique. Prince's When Doves Cry showed imagery. Michael Jackson's videos of Thriller and Bille Jean exciting audiences and were ahead of their times too. Sade's music videos showed a mystique about her personality. Chaka Khan's and Patti Labelle's music videos were like massive events on the screen. There was the style of singers like Vesta Williams and the soulful sounds of Stevie Wonder. As this was going on, the public saw the rise of Reagan and Bush Sr. as Presidents. Both men were Republicans, and the conservative movement dominated the politics of American society. A lot of people forget that the 1980's wasn't all peaches and creams. There were the War on Drugs, the crack epidemic, and the growth of the prison industrial complex, racist hate crimes, etc. that harmed the lives of many black people. We know that Reaganomics doesn't work to economically develop society collectively. Yet, people never gave up in promoting progressive values. The 1980's R&B chapter was all about dreams coming true. It showed the lives of men and women who wanted to ascend into more heights filled with soul and inspiration.

Southern hip hop from 1997-2006 was all about respect and growth. For decades, many people disrespected and stereotyped Southern hip hop as not real music or totally insignificant. We know that to be a lie. The words from Outkast in 1995 saying that the South has something to say would prove prophetic. Tons of people should realize that the origin of a large portion of black Americans is the South. The South is home to some of the greatest slavery liberation revolts in history. The Deacons of Defense and the original Black Panther Party of Alabama came from the South. Therefore, you reap what you sow. The South has worked hard in their craft in Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Memphis, Miami, Charlotte, Tampa, Nashville, and in other places. After those years, Southern hip hop became very dominate in the hip hop industry. By 1997, groups like the Geto Boys, UGK, 8Ball and MJG, PKO, and other groups were universally respected in the hip hop community because of their talent and merit. By 1997, Goodie Mob (who were friends with Tupac Shakur) and OutKast dominated Southern hip hop too. Goodie Mob also wanted to promote messages in their raps to make people think. Goodie Mob was based in Atlanta, and they were created in 1991 with members like Big Gipp, Khujo, Cee-Lo, and T-Mo. Khujo met with Tupac Shakur before in 1996, and Tupac knew of Goodie Mob's music. Their album of Soul Food in 1995 had conscious lyrics with music with Big Boi, Cool Breeze, and Andre 3000. Cell Therapy is one of their greatest records. Their album of Still Standing made known their lyrical power. They continue to make music into the 2010's. Outkast just went into another stratosphere of power and influence. By 1998, they made the album Aquemini which one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. They had collaborations with people form the Goodie Mob and Erykah Badu. Their next albums would be Stankonia (2000), Apeakerboxx/The Love Below (2003), and Idewild (2006). Andre is more of the conscious type, while Big Boi is more of the rapid fire lyrical person. Hypnotize Minds came out of Memphis with music. Also, No Limit Records was created by Master P and his family. Master P was from New Orleans, moved into Richmond, California, and made his career about building a business. Through ups and downs, Master P is one of the most influential hip hop businessmen of all time. Many of the people at No Limit Records at its prime were Snoop, Mercedes, SIlkk the Shocker, Mystikal, Mia X, Mac, C-Murder, Magic, Short Circuit, Lil Soldiers, Romeo Miller, Fiend, Kane and Abel, Soulja Slim, CFO, Jefferson Macks, and others. The song Make Em Say Uhh! was made in 1997, but it became a huge success in early 1998. The prime of No Limit Records was from 1997 to 2000. No Limit Records has an all star roster, but legal troubles, disputes over money, and creative differences cause No Limit to lose its influence in the industry later on.  Cash Money was another movement in New Orleans hip hop. By 1998-1999, they started to dominated the hip hop world. They were run by Bryan William and Ronald Williams. They were created in 1991. They had Juvenile, Lil Wayne, Turk, Mannie Fresh, and B.G. along with others. The most talented artist in the crew was Lil Wayne. He had God-given talent of lyricism, charisma, and power of voice. Therefore, he just came into having more success and being one of the greatest hip hop artists of the 21st century. Lil Wayne is a man who survive a lot. By 2006, Lil Wayne was already created multiple Carter albums and became very well known. From working with TI to Destiny's Child, he set his legacy up. During this time, other Southern artists like TI, Lil Flip, Ludacris, Lil Jon, Young Jeezy, Trick Daddy, Rick Ross, Chamillionaire, Mike Jones, Paul Wall, and other people made their way in expressing themselves. From crunk to alternative music, Southern hip hop remains a big part of overall hip hop culture.

The end of the hip hop era from 1997 and 2006 saw a new era. This era ended with the end of Napster as we know it, and the rise of social media like Myspace helped to grow the music careers of previously unsung people. Stores selling CDs increasingly declined, because there was the advent of electronic sells.  Previously, many artists were showing advanced lyricism years ahead of its time like Kid Wizard aka Rakim performing  live at the Wyandanch High School Jam in 1983. By 2006, ringtones and Internet services propelled the career of new artists. Also, hip hop names like Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco saw their musical influence reach the world. From 2006 to 2012, we saw the future existence of snap rap, a temporarily decline in hip hop sales, and the rise of alternative hip hop movement artists like Kid Cudi, Kendrick Lamar, Jay Electronica, B.o.B., and J Cole. Previously from 1997 to 2006, we saw the development of many movements and artists after the unjust murders of Tupac and Biggie. During the late 1990's and early 2000's, hip hop was the most dominant musical genre in the world. Commercials, movies, and TV shows used hip hop slang and music as soundtracks, etc. Movies like Belly and Brown Sugar (of the late 190's and early 00's) either had hip hop artists as actors and actress or were heavily influenced by hip hop culture. This time was not without controversies. New rivalries (like between G-unit and Murder inc) along with debates about lyrics consumed the time. BET shows and other forums debated the many forms of content in hip hop music.  The legacy of the time was that this period allowed old and new artists the range to express themselves along with the expansion of the commercialism of hip hop music. We saw massive changes and a mixture of lyrical sounds along with club anthems. We saw a mixture of celebrations of consciousness along with some artists trying to be fun. It was combination of many things during the early era of the war on terror.

Friday News on Issues.

You have the right to be you. On many times, we know that big corporations and other entities want to promote negative stereotypes and glamorize bad behavior. Yet, we want to do the opposite of these things and promote goodness. That is why when you listen to real, inspirational music and do the right thing, it causes us to feel better emotionally and spiritually. Some people have been tricked into destruction by deception, but it is certainly our duties to promote the truth. That is why when you know artists and musicians promoting killing black people, abusing drugs (as we know that the abuse of drugs damages the liver, ruins hormones, decrease the power of the immune system, and contributes to cancer), exploiting women, and worshiping materialism, you see the fruit of how these musicians need up. I can listen dozens and dozens of artists among many genres who sold out and the end result is their lives ending in mayhem. Therefore, in this life, we are given a choice. We will certainly follow the right choice of righteousness. Like always, I do believe in public investments, in ending the War on Drugs, in eliminating police brutality, and ending structures of racial oppression. Likewise, we are clear that we won't degrade each other or mistreat each other. We believe in the Golden Rule.

Attorney General Bill Barr is at it against with his extremism. He criticized federal prosecutors. He also questioned if the mayor of Seattle Jenny Durkan should be charged with sedition for the Seattle autonomous zone situation. Barr believes in the myth that mail in voting is threatening the establishment of voter fraud. Barr is acting biased to support Trump's interests instead of being politically independent to advance the interests of the American people. This is not new for Barr. Many scholars have recorded Bill Barr for years. Trump believes in the myth that Democratic controlled states were dropping the signature checking of ballots in order to create numbers of illegal votes against him. Barr called prosecutors who disagree with him as "preschoolers." Christopher Wray has disagreed with many of Barr's statements. Caputo made the outrageous statement that scientists at the CDC are engaging in sedition against Trump. Caputo said that he wanted right win Trump supporters to gather ammunition for inauguration day. He wants people to join the New York watchmen. Roger Stone told the far right broadcaster Alex Jones that Trump should roundup his political enemies. Alex Jones is a notorious sellout. Trump is the fruit of not only Reaganomics but the centuries long system of oppression.

Hard work is part of her life. She is an actress and musician. She is Sister Kyla Pratt, and it was her birthday recently. She is now 34 years old. People know her from being on the Proud Family, One on One, Dr. Dolittle, and Dr. Dollitte 2. Yet, she is also a grown woman with her aspirations. Los Angeles, California is the place of her birth. Ever since she was a child, she has been on commercials and TV shows. By 1997, she was in the episode called The Neighborhood form the Walker Texas Ranger show. Kyla Pratt has been on other shows like Smart Guy, Sister Sister, The Parkers, Moesha, etc. Kyla sang music on the 2019 Lifetime Christmas movie, "There's No Time Like Christmas." She has 2 children with her husband Danny Kirkpatrick. Kyla Pratt is one of the nicest, humblest people in the industry. That is a testament to the blessings that she has.

I wish Sister Kyla Pratt more blessings.

One of the most important news today is that the athlete and basketball player Maya Moore (who is in fact one of the greatest WNBA basketball players in history) married Jonathan Irons. Yes, Irons was the man that Moore helped to free from prison after being falsely accused of a crime. Moore said that they were friends since she was 18 years old. Their romantic relationship grew slowly, and then they both became married during this year of 2020. Maya Moore has been a known activist to promote prison reform, being against police brutality, and being for social justice. She always is a religious woman who has been involved in missionary programs for years. The couple revealed their marriage on Good Morning America. They have been married for months. In retrospect, my intuition kind of knew that these people were more than friends after Irons left prison. Their story is a love story. Haters say that Moore shouldn't marry a man out of prison, but that is their business. Sometimes, folks find love in many places. They are grown adults, and they are entitled to be married if they desire. So, all of us wish the best for the couple.

Congratulations to Maya Moore and Jonathan Irons.

Like always, we see the truth. Trump has promoted a puppet to run the Post Office in delaying mail. Trump had lied and claimed that there will be a rigged election. Barr made the fall statement that there is widespread voter fraud. These actions aren't the deeds of a man secure in the voting rights of Americans. The CDC Director told the Senate panel that America should have enough doses of the coronvarius by the 3rd quarter of 2021. That is mid to late 2021. This is the mentality of a male who knows that he had a great probability of losing the 2020 election. That is why we should vote without fear. We should vote Trump out of office. Barr saying that the CDC rules on lockdown being the worst civil liberty crisis since slavery is offensive and evil. The mentality of AG Bill Barr is authoritarianism. Over 80 unarmed black people have been killed by the police since 2016. Certainly, this is terrible and unacceptable. That is why change must come. There are stories of nurses and immigrant women coming forward about unnecessary hysterectomies and surgeries at a detention center. This is serious, and a Congressional investigation could happen. Like always, we are clear that such acts against women are wrong period.

A Renewed Focus.

Louisville settled with Breonna Taylor's family over the wrongful death lawsuit for 12 million dollars. The police of Louisville agreed to create a series of police reforms too. The mayor of the city is Mayor Greg Fischer. Breonna Taylor was a 26 year old EMT who was unjustly killed in her own home on March 13, 2020. The settlement deals with the creation of a housing credit program to be an incentive for officers to live in the areas that they patrol, social workers to be invested, and reviews of search warrants before seeking judicial approval among other changes. Tamika Palmer is the mother of Breonna Taylor. The family attorney of the Taylor family is Benjamin Crump. Another attorney for Breonna Taylor's family is Lonita Baker. No knock warrants are banned in Louisville via the Breonna's Law. These actions are not enough as the officers involved in Breonna Taylor's death have not been charged. These officers should be charged, placed into a trial, convicted, and placed into prison. That would mean justice for the family of Breonna Taylor.

Black Lives Matter.

Today, Dan McNeil is fired from WSCR-AM after tweeting an evil comment about ESPN's Maria Taylor. For those who follow sports, Maria Taylor is a famous, excellent African American journalist who has covered football, basketball, and other sports. She is known for publicly standing up against racism and police brutality. I won't mention what Dan said, because the words are so out of bounds I will say that Taylor made the perfect response to his sexist words. Maria's friends and journalist colleagues also defended her. No matter what clothing a woman wears, she is entitled to dignity and respect. We live in a new day. More women and other minorities are fighting for change. We live in the growing pains of such changes. When our descendants come about, the question is that what we have done to make the world better. It is certainly our duty to make sure that we stand up for black people, for the oppressed in general, and be a living witness to righteousness. Maria Taylor, who is a black woman, shows the world that black women's intellect, dignity, and humanity must always be respected.  Following the Golden Rule in treating people right is easy, and it doesn't cost a thing. Showing respect to our neighbors is not only right, it's a perquisite to holy living.

The California wildfires are historic and represent the reality of climate change. Climate change is real, because of many factors. The decrease of the ice sheets from the Arctic and Antarctica have been documented for decades. The record heat has been recorded for every summer since the year of 2000 especially. Back during the 1960's, scientists warned LBJ of the threat of climate change involving the increasing temperature of the Earth's temperature. At least 33 people have died and thousands of people have had their homes displaced. The August Complex fire alone in California has burned more than 875,000 acres of land. Portland was on alert for mass evacuation. These fires have existed in the Amazon and Australia. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change warned in 2019 that as global temperatures increase, damage caused by wildfires will grow proportionally. While Biden has said that climate change is a serious issue, Trump questions whether climate change is real or not. Trump has been targeting legitimate environmental regulations like eliminating restrictions on emissions, supporting fracking, and promoting offshore drilling. He rolled back controls of methane. Methane contributes to greenhouse gas. The only solution is to have a policy of a reorganization of the world's energy production and transportation infrastructure in order to develop new technologies to halt carbon emissions. It must be an international approach.

One common argument from people of my generation and those of the older generation is that music is dead and that the current generation of artists don't have talent. We have heard this argument before. We have heard those words from back in the day too. A lot of people are hesitant to accept musical change. The truth is more nuisance than that. It is true that the big corporations do promote artists who lack talent, advance nihilism, and aren't real role models for anyone. That is true. It is true that many artists live in gated, mostly white communities, promote degrading black people in music, and falsely claim to keep it real. That is accurate. Many of these musicians do mumble rap and some don't. What is also true is that many young people do have talent. A lot of times, many of the great younger artists aren't supported or not very much known by the people, except in a handful of instances. For me, a lot of new music are things that I don't listen to, because I'm from a different generation. Yet, there are many younger artists with talent. Young artists with musical excellence should receive respect and honor for promoting their artistic integrity without selling out. Many younger artists with great talent are people like Sampa the Great, Kendrick Lamar, H.E.R., Logic, Rhapsody, J. Cole, Ella Mai, Chloe X Halle, Lianne La Havas,  Justine Syke, Tiana Blake, etc.

Now is 19 years after the attacks of 9/11. I remember those events just like yesterday. For our generation, it was our Pearl Harbor. All of the time, I think about 9/11, because it defined our time and our generation explicitly. A lot of things on why things are is a direct result of 9/11. To understand the horrendous tragedy, we have to look back. Decades ago, the CIA funded the mujaheddin in Afghanistan in order for the mujaheddin defeat the pro-socialist government of Afghanistan. By the 1980's, Reagan funded the mujaheddin in opposition to the interests of the Soviet Union. The CIA and the Pakistani ISI  funded the Mujaheddin too.

By the 1990's, the Taliban controlled the nation of Afghanitan. Osama bin Laden have gone through many evolutions. He was born into a wealthy Saudi Arabian family. He spoke his mind. The bin Laden and Bush families had many business connections. Osama had tons of children, and he lived like a coward. Osama later came into the evil path of being involved in terrorism as a means for him to justify his anger at Western society. Osama bin Laden didn't like American soldiers and women from America on Saudi Arabia soil during the Persian Gulf war, because Osama was an extremist. Osama was a murderer who murdered innocent people in Africa and in other places of the world via his al-Qaeda network. By the time of the Bush administration, many warnings about terrorists using planes to harm Americans did exist. On 9/11, I was a freshman in college. The attacks were at NYC at the Twin Towers, at the Pentagon (in Virginia), and one plane crashed at Pennsylvania (after heroes fought the hijackers on that plane). Many schools in Virginia closed early. People walked around in a daze for weeks after 9/11. Almost 3,000 people died. The deaths are among people of many creeds, many nationalities, many colors, and many backgrounds. The evil of the attacks certainly galvanized Americans to stand up against hate and evil. Good people saved lives on that day. Also, evil people did Islamophobic acts of burning mosques, racially profiling Arabic Americans, and showing other hate crimes in America. I saw news on it, and these things happened in America. Later, the war on terror, the Patriot Act, and the TSA existed. For the record, I don't agree with the Patriot Act, the Military Commission Act, or NSA warrantless wiretapping on civil liberty grounds. To this day, we debate on civil liberties. 9/11 taught us that there is no justification for murder, for terrorism, and for bigotry. If we want this justice and freedom, we have to stand up for righteous principles. The pain of the victims are very real and transparent. Many of the first responders have died or are dying of cancer from the air after 9/11. \A great way to honor the victims of 9/11 is to promote truth, to stand up for justice, to research information, and to support those who are really assisting human lives positively.

Updates in Mid-September 2020.

It is always important to describe statistical information about the African American community, because stats are indicators of how things are. The truth is the truth. Also, we can use the stats in order to deal with ways to further improve the black community too. Stats don't discriminate. They focus on reality as it is. We have a long way to go, but we came so much far now than in 1968. There are many forms of information revealed by a report from Janelle Jones, John Schmitt, and Valerie Wilson. Their report is entitled, "50 Years After the Kerner Commission." This report was created in 2018. The report said that more than 90 percent of younger African Americans (aged 25 to 29) have graduated form high school compared to just over half in 1968. Black people of the same age have also are twice as likely to have a college degree than in 1968. Yet, black people are still half as likely as young whites to have a college degree. African Americans since 1968 have made massive improvements in wages, incomes, wealth, and health since 1968. Yet, black workers still make only 82.5 cents on every dollar earned by white workers. African Americans are 2.5 times as likely to live in poverty as whites. The median white family has almost 10 times as much wealth as the median black family. Home-ownership is just about 40 percent as it was in 1968 which deals with a constant issue of housing discrimination. High school graduation went from 54.4 percent to 92.3 percent in 2018. Black college graduates increased (among those 25-29 years old) from 9.1 percent in 1968 to 22.8 percent in 2018. Black households income annually increased from 42.8 percent between 1968 and 2016. The poverty rate in the black community is from 34.7 percent in 1968 to 21.4 percent in 2018. Over 50 years later from 1968, dramatic health improvements have existed in the black community. The number of deaths per 1000 live births fallen from 34.9 in 1968 to 11.4 in the most recent data. In 1968, black infants were about 1.9 times as likely to die as white infants. Today, the rate is 2.3 times higher for black Americans. Black life expectancy at birth increase up 11.5 years between 1968 and today, outpacing the increase for whites (up 7.5 years). Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report, "Father's Involvement with Their Children" said that the majority of black fathers actually live with their children (2.5 million versus 1.7 million who don't). The CDC found that whether living in the same home or not, black fathers are the most involved of all primary recorded race and ethnic groups in America. Many fatherless stats don't account unmarried couples, and other issues There are always those who exploit or manipulate statistics in order to undermine black relationships among black men and black women.  Black men and black women have been made the scapegoats of black oppression not only by white racists (but by women haters and man haters who hide behind a veneer of community activism). Stats have shown massive graduation rates and an increase of owning businesses. Dr. Waldo E. Johnson or the professor of the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration had led efforts to re-educate people about black fatherhood. We have seen black men and black women perform super athletic feats, we have seen black men and black women being great leaders of intellectual pursuits, and we have seen black men and black women beings leaders since the dawn of human history. Now, James P. Comer had worked to close the achievement gap among young black people via his School Development Model. There are black farming cooperatives in the South. Dr. Ajani Brown promotes literature.

The late David Williams was a famous musician and guitarist who lived from November 21, 1950 to March 6, 2009. The 89th studio album of Nas was the controversial album of Hip Hop is Dead. It was released on December 19, 2006 on Def Jam Recordings. The album was about Nas' opinion of the current state of hip hop. It was important in having a song with Jay Z immediately after ending their hip hop feud. It had features from Nas' former wife Kelis, Kanye West, will.i.am, Snoop, The Game, Chrisette Michele, etc. It debuted on Billboard as number 1 in the country with 355,880 copies in its first week. It became platinum as time went on. It was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rap Album. Nas gave the reason for naming his album Hip Hop is Dead. He told He told English DJ Tim Westwood on his Radio show on May 18, 2006 that, "Hip hop is dead because we as artists no longer have the power... Could you imagine what 50 Cent could be doing, Nas, Jay , Eminem, if we were the Jimmy Iovines? Could you imagine the power we're have? I think that's where we headed?" Nas said that his album had political records, collaborations, and "street records." Nas said that there is no political voice, so in his mind, America is dead, hip hop is dead, thinking is dead, etc. Some of his great songs on the album was Can't Forget About You featuring Chrisette Michele with sampling from Nat King Cole's song Unforgettable. The music video had an appearance of Natalie Cole or Nat King Cole's daughter. Nas wanted the title of the album to provoke a reaction among hip hop artists. A lot of people claimed that the album was targeting Southern hip hop music, especially crunk and snap music. Lil Wayne and Kanye West reacted to the album. Artists who disagreed with the title of the album were Ludacris, Trick Daddy, Big Boi, etc. as targeting Southern hip hop. Those who supported the title were KRS One, DMX, Raekown, and Ghostface Killah. Southern rapper Young Jeezy back then was offended by the album, because he felt that hip hop is alive and well. Many people back then and today album Southern hip hop for cheapening the quality of hip hop music. Of course, that is not true as great music is found in multiple regions of America not just in one region. The deal is that corporate powerbases used consumerism and materialism to waterdown a certain segment of hip hop. Jeezy once questioned Nas' street credibility in an interview with Monie Love. Nas and Young Jeezy reconciled with being on the song My President in 2008. The album was praised by the critics.

1986 in R&B shown artists with a lot of legendary artists and songs. It was a time when people like Meli'sa Morgan, Janet Jackson, Stephanie Mills, El DeBarge, Michael McDonald, Timex, Social Club, Jean Carne, Shirley Jones, Gwen Guthrie, LeVert, Oran Juice Jones, Bobby Brown, Gregory Abott, and Melba Moore dominated the charts. Janet Jackson, Billy Ocean, and Freddie Jackson had multiple number one singles in that year. In early 1986, Say You, Say Me was the song done by Lionel Richie. That's What Friends are For was done by Dionne and Friends. Meli'sa Morgan was popular. How Wll I Know done by Whiteny Houston was a classic. Vocally, that was one of the most outstanding records. Whitney Houston was already a legend in the 1980's. Your Smile was done by Rene and Angela. Janet Jackson's What Have You Done for Me Lately was creative. Janet Jackson wanted to show more control and independence in her own life. Janet wanted to be more free beyond just the loveable actress. She is entitled to express her own womanhood in diverse ways. Prince and the Revolution made the song Kiss. Patti Labelle, Billy Ocean, and LeVert made people dance. Word Up was done by Cameo. Girlfriend was done by Bobby Brown. By 1987, R&B had more teen acts. Angela Winbush made her solo artist debut. People like Jody Watley, The System, Gregory Hines, Atlantic Starr, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, Alexander O'Neal, and other people were high on the charts. Jody Watley reached into new heights. Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson made music that touched many lives. Luther Vandross and Stephanie Mills including Freddie Jackson were excellent. Let's Wait Awhile and The Pleasure Principle made Janet Jackson's career reach into new heights. Michael Jackson's Bad album was more than about creativity. That album was about his anger at the industry and the things that came with it. It was like Michael Jackson wanting tha industry world almost to leave him alone. Candy from Cameo was an anthem of club music. Falling was made by Melba Moore. Loose Ends made Slow Down. The O'Jays, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Roger, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, The Whispers, and Atlantic Starr made more music. In 1988, The Way You Make me Feel by Michael Jackson was very powerful in 1988. Older and new artists were hitting their stride like Keith Seat, Pebbles, Morris Day, Teena Marie, Tony Toni Tone, Sade, George Michael, Karyn White, and Anita Baker. Cheryl Pepsii Riley, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, and Mac Band grown their musical strength. Man in the Mirror had a social message from Michael Jackson. Love Overboard was made by Gladys Knights and the Pips. Stevie Wonder made You Will Know. Wishing Well was created by Terence Trent D'Arby. E.U. had his song. Joy from Te ddy Pendergrass was about life after his accident still being spritiaully strong. Lossey's Rap was made by Rick James and Roxanne Shante. My Prerogative by Bobby Brown was about his controversies and determination to be his own man. Giving You the Best that I Got from Anita Baker was one of his greatest records. Anita Baker expressed the power and exquisite nature of love and romance with her music. Everything I Miss at Home by Cherrelle was a great song too. In 1989, the 1980's ended with the growth of new jack swing and other modern sounds. Roberta Flack and Jermaine Jackson had songs with their comebacks. Bobby Brown, Surface, Soul II Soul, Stephanie Mills, and Babyface were on the move wither their music. Vanessa Williams, Teddy Riley, Guy, Caron Wheeler, Regina Belle, Miki Howard, and Eric Gable made music that inspired human souls. Superwoman and Love Saw It outlined Karyn White's powerful legacy. Oasis was made by Roberta Flack. Can You Stand the Rain was one of the great songs of New Edition. Dreaming from Vanessa Williams showed her side as an underrated singer. Real Love by Jody Watley was classic. Prince, Natalie Cole, Janet Jackson developed their crafts more. Here and Now from Luther Vandross was classic. Miki Howard's Aint Nuttin in the World continued to show her legendary status. All of My Love was made by the Gap Band, and Tender Love from Babyface was one start of his long career.

Ever since 2001, I knew about this subject. That was when I was before 20 years old. America wasn't just an nation created after many colonial visits. Many people who came into America had links to the esoteric crowd. In fact, many Freemasons were involved in the Constitutional Convention. For thousands of years, human beings have always sought to try to form an Utopian society. Thousands of years ago, Plato wrote about the legend of Atlantis. Atlantis was a legendary place of advanced civilizations where it was destroyed by a massive flood. Today, many esoteric people believe that America is the New Atlantis. The late 33rd degree Freemason Manly P. Hall believed in this ideology. In fact, he wrote a book about it called, "America's Secret Destiny." Many leaders like Dr. John Dee promoted British exploration of America.  Over 2 centuries after the death of Dr. John Dee, we saw America born. It is important to note that many evil people brought up America via genocide of its indigenous people and the enslavement of African human beings. Sir Francis Bacon was a philosopher and scientist who wrote about literature in an unfinished novel called New Atlantis in 1627. The story was about human discovery and knowledge. It showed the fictional place of Benslaem. The story showed a fictional organization of Solomon's House utilizing modern research. Sir Francis Bacon was involved in creating the English colonies of Virginia, the Carolinas, and Newfoundland in northwestern Canada. Thomas Jefferson praised Bacon for his research into the physical and moral sciences. Johnnes Kelpius and other mystics came into America. By 1800, Washington , D.C. was created. Many of its major buildings were helped to be created by Masons with cornerstones on them. Many pagan god and goddess images are found in many buildings of D.C. too. The Library of Congress even have esoteric paintings, and other locations in D.C. have statues praising Sir Francis Bacon. From 1776 to the present, America is filled with good people and evil people. It has been filled with heroes and villains. Today, we know that the mysteries of America have the right to be made known to the people.  Also, we are clear that bigotry and injustice are antithetical to true morality. We always believe in justice for all and human equality wholeheartedly.

We live in a new decade. The 2020s will be a time of revelation of innovation. There are always those who love to disrespect believers in God. Yet, we have the faith to carry onward. We are never ashamed to believe in God. For thousands of years, spiritual leaders have changed the world in positive ways. Many people unfortunately scapegoat Christianity collectively for everything under the sun. These haters forget that some of the great leaders of ending slavery in many places of the world, scientists, labor rights activists, civil rights activists, etc. were Christians. That is why it is important to always show the reality of spiritual heroes who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. People forget that the original Christians were victims of oppression by the Roman Empire. Back then, many Christians were crucified, fed to the lions at arenas, and discriminated against because of their faith in God.  Even today, religious persecution is commonplace in many places of the world. In America, many of us are blessed to not go through that level of anti-religious persecution, but we have to be prepared for anything because we are living in the end times. Our goal in life is to love God, do righteousness, and help our neighbors.

Harriet Tubman was always a spiritual person. When she was a slave, she prayed for freedom. Later, she escaped bondage, and not only did she free other black human beings. She led an Union force to defeat Confederate forces during the American Civil War. She led 13 mission to rescue about 70 people. She was one leader of the Underground railroad that helped to save lives. She was a suffragist who wanted women to vote. She was born in the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Her grandmother was Modesty. Her sisters were Linah, Mariah Ritty, Soph, and Rachel. Her brothers were Robert, Ben, and Henry including Moses. People called her Moses. Harriet Tubman even guided many people into Canada. She knew Frederick Douglas and John Brown (she helped him to form the 1859 raid on Harpers Ferry). Her role in the Combahee Ferry raid during the Civil War liberated more than 700 black human beings. That was in South Carolina. Her grandmother Modesty came from Africa. She loved his black husband Nelson Charles Davis form North Carolina. He was a private in the 8th United States Colored Infantry Regiment from September 1863 to November 1865. She always had faith in God, as Harriet Tubman was married at the Central Presbyterian Church. She loved the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Auburn, New York. She lived until 1913. Her final words were, "I go to prepare a place for you." She was buried with semi-military honors at Fort Hill Cemetery in Auburn.

William Tyndale was a Bible translator and one of the greatest heroes of religious freedom in history. He lived from ca. 1494 to 1536. He helped to translate the Bible into English. Also, he risked his life in order for people to have religious freedom. He was executed, because he translated the Bible into English. He was influenced by Erasmus and Martin Luther's work. He was a leader of the Protestant Reformation. Tyndale worked hard to study Greek and Hebrew. Many Greek speaking intellectuals traveled into Europe after the fall of Constantinople in 1453. Tyndale's translation was the first English Bible to use directly form Hebrew and Greek texts. He challenged the hegemony of the Catholic Church and the law of England maintaining the church's position. He wrote literature like The Obedience of a Christian Man in 1528. He lived in Flemish lands after fleeing England. Tyndale's Bible was heavily used for the creation of the later King James bible. William Tyndale studied at Oxford University and had his B.A. in 1512. He was a sub-deacon. He was Master of Arts in July 1515. He was a righteous man. Tyndale was fluent in French, Greek, Hebrew, German, Italian, Latin, and Spanish. Tyndale opposed the king's annulment of England. Later, he was betrayed, strangled to death, tied to the stake, and burned. Tyndale didn't believe in prayer to saints. He didn't believe that the Scriptures could only be interpreted by approved authorities as he stated, that he deified the Pope and his laws. The Tyndale New Testament was created in 1525. Back in those days, it was illegal in England to translate the Bible in English. Tyndale said that baptism must be preceded by repentance, faith, and confession which is true. He believed that the bread and wine of the Lord's Supper are memorials only. Tyndale wanted the King to wake up before his death. William Tyndale continued in his faith throughout his life.
