Recently, the Trump administration issued a policy change. This change will make it more difficultly for immigrants to have citizenship if they are in poverty. The new policy labels all undocumented immigrants who have ever used cash- or non-cash benefits as “public charges.” Working class immigrants whose families have used programs like food stamps, Section 8 housing assistance, subsidized housing under the Housing Act of 1937, Medicaid and healthcare subsidies under Medicare Part D will now be relegated to permanent illegality. Beyond this 10 million, almost all non-citizen immigrants, including those who already have legal permanent residency, will likely forego future use of social services, with disastrous implications for health and nutrition. In addition, 18 million US citizen children with at least one immigrant parent will now go without access to necessary public programs, since immigrants will be penalized for allowing even citizen children to use social programs.

The American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association denounced the plan, warning it will cause a public health crisis. This policy change makes those who live below the poverty a negative factor in consideration for a green card or a visa application while more wealthy people will have a positive factor in receiving such items. This is in essence class based restrictions on immigration and this Trump action is evil. It is no secret that the Trump regime is hostile to the concept of diverse immigration into America as shown by his xenophobic executive orders (and his bigoted statements about immigrants).

As for Brett Kavanaugh, the GOP is rushing in attempting to try to be on the Supreme Court. He is giving prepared statements on Trump TV or on the FOX News network. The Judiciary Committee wants a Friday vote on Kavanaugh which shows that the GOP is more concerned with ideological extremism than character. Kavanaugh has been caught in multiple lies on his views and on aspects of his life. Dr. Ford will testify on Thursday. The victims have the right to outline their voices. Trump, who supports Kavanaugh, is known also for his vulgarity and for being accused of sexual misconduct. Trump admitted on tape to have done sexual misconduct. So, our eyes must be on the prize. Kavanaugh has made it clear where he stands in support on an executive branch with inordinate power, he supports stop and frisk, and loves to rules in favor of corporate power. The oligarchy allies with Kavanaugh since he reflects their values of deregulation, hostility towards collective bargaining, and restrictions of civil liberties.

A genius, a great actor, and a philanthropist are words to accurately describe this man. He loves his wife and children completely. He is Brother Will Smith and it was his Birthday yesterday. He is now 50 years old. Yes, he is 50. For decades now, he has shown his talents involving not only acting, but music including comedy. Always with a curious mind, he enjoys to overcome challenges while making it clear that we, as human beings, can achieve greatness on our own terms. Philadelphia is the city where Will Smith was born and raised. His parents are hard workers. Involving hip hop, he worked with DJ Jazzy Jeff to advance musical expression. In fact, DJ Jazzy Jeff regularly was on his hit show called the Fresh Prince of Bel-air. Both of them are friends in real life too. The Fresh Prince show was very popular and it lasted from 1990 to 1996. The show ended when I was in middle school during the 7th grade. I remembered it greatly. Afterwards, he became an even more well known movie star with films like Independence Day, The Pursuit of Happyness, Ali, and Enemy of the State. Enemy of the State is one of my favorite movies. He can do roles in a multifaceted fashion involving comedies, thrillers, action films, dramas, etc. His wife is another genius named Jada Pinkett Smith. Always on the cutting edge of cultural excellence, Will Smith will continue to advance his talents. I wish Brother Will Smith more blessings.

Yesterday was the Birthday of Scottie Pippen and he is now 53 years old. When I was a kid, during the 1990's, I was a fan of the Chicago Bulls. Pippen was one of the many leaders of that team who won six NBA Championships along with Michael Jordan. Scottie Pippen was born in the South at Hamburg, Arkansas. He played in Central Arkansas during his collegiate career before he came into the NBA at the year of 1987. Scottie Pippen could play offense and defense when he was in the NBA. Considered one of the best small forwards of all time, Pippen was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team eight consecutive times and the All-NBA First Team three times. He was a seven-time NBA All-Star and was the NBA All-Star Game MVP in 1994. He was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History during the 1996–97 season, and is one of four players to have his jersey retired by the Chicago Bulls (the others being Jerry Sloan, Bob Love, and Michael Jordan). Pippen won 2 gold medals in 1992 at Barcelona and in 1996 in Atlanta. After 1998, he played for the Blazers and finally for Chicago again until he retired from the NBA. Pippen is one of the most versatile players of the NBA. I wish Brother Scottie Pippen more blessings.
