2019: A New Year and a New Era.

The government is meant to be by and for the people. Today in 2019, we still live in a society where large corporate interests have an inordinate influence on the lives of the people. There are about 328 million Americans living in the United States being the most diverse nation in human history. We have incredible style. We have traveled to the Moon and we have given charity, foreign aid, and compassion to people worldwide sincerely. Likewise, America has imperfections. Still, no one can win a major election without massive funding from the richest 1%. There are many ballot access restrictions made by oppressive voter ID laws in America. These laws are abhorrent since they restrict the days in which people can vote and limit the type of IDs used for voting. We see that one sixth of the world's population want to flee their countries because of war, poverty, and other harsh social conditions. This has existed still after more than 25 years after the end of the Soviet Union. That is why compassionate organizations the world over have worked diligently to assist those suffering from complications.

Massive privatization, civil wars, and other issues are common in the world. When these human beings (who escape oppression) try to go into other nations (mainly developed countries), xenophobes in Europe and in America try to prevent them to coming over. These xenophobic hypocrites historically exploited these same nations centuries ago for gold, cobalt, diamonds, and other resources, and they have exploited refugees as scapegoats for their own problems. Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini repeated threats to deport 500,000 immigrants and the entire Roma population. In the United Kingdom, the Tory government is preparing a Brexit deal that may cut the country off to Eastern European immigrants. In Germany, the neo-Nazi Alternative for Germany held anti-immigrant demonstrations this summer with the encouragement of the state. In America, Trump has separated children from their families at the border and even desires to limit legal immigration into America. That is why international respect for humanity is a necessity. The human dignity of refugees and immigrants must be respected. I believe in black liberation too.

There are many lessons to be learned in 2019. One lesson is to reject naivete. We know of the history of Western imperialism in Africa and the Berlin Conference. Many Europeans are part of a wicked history in not only stealing lands in Africa, but many of them were involved in the genocide of Africans (i.e. King Leopold I of Belgium was responsible for the deaths of millions of black Congolese people). Also, we can't be naive about Chinese imperialists in Africa too. They desire control of African resources. The only difference is that the Chinese imperialists are more slick about it while Western imperialists are more overtly viciously about their goals. Plus, it is important to recognize that there is nothing wrong with a formal collegiate education. Yet, some are exploiting their education as an excuse for them to mock those who are poor or those who didn't have an extensive educational experience. That is wrong.

Like others have mentioned, life doesn't have to be too complicated. We desire freedom, independence, and justice. We want black people to own land, experience investments to leave poverty, build up our own institutions that we own and control, and have the freedom to unite socially plus economically with our Brothers and our Sisters overseas. As Malcolm X has said, liberation deals with land. Without land, power is limited. With land and other resources, power and generational wealth can expand into future generations. That is commonsense. That is why I believe in a strong social safety net and I believe that STEM Fields, economic literacy, and other tools for survival should be taught to the youth plus adults who need it. I believe in pan-African unity too. People of black African descent exist globally and we are one black people irrespective of our nationalities.

It is not our job to please people who don't respect us as human beings. It is our responsibility to fight mental slavery, so those in our community and our people can witness the greatness found in Blackness. Your goals are never predicated on anyone else's expectations. Your aspirations are yours alone and they should be cherished. Yesterday was Independence Day for Haiti. Our Haitian Brothers and Sisters sacrificed so much for our freedom as black people. They were involved in a Revolution that caused Haiti to be the first black Republic of the Americas by 1804. Haitians fought for freedom in opposition to French colonialists and imperialists. Heroes like Touissant and Jean-Jacques Dessalines risked their lives to liberate black Haitian peoples. Black women were also involved in the Haitian Revolution like Sanite Blair, Victoria Montou, and Catherine Flon. They inspire our Brothers and our Sisters in the States to use rebellions in Americas in trying to end slavery once and for all.

We praise Haitians.

Nous continuons à nous battre jusqu'à la libération.
