Ahmaud Arbery and other Information in early May of 2020.

Everyone is talking about the shooting of the unarmed black man named Ahmaud Arbery. His family is going through unspeakable pain, and the Georgia legal system made huge mistakes to put it lightly. They initially didn't charge anyone or led an investigation. Many people refused to be part of the case because of conflicts of interests. The community of south Georgia wants justice, and they are entitled to it. Imagine if the shoe was on the other foot. We know what the outcome will be. Now, the prosecutors wants a grand jury to decide whether the man who killed Ahmaud Arbery will face charges. We have seen this time after time again. Still, no one has been arrested until recently. Protesters have demanded real change in Glynn County. This epidemic (and it is an epidemic) of unarmed black people being murdered is not only evil. It's a national and global disgrace.

Vigilantes and crooked cops have harassed and murdered innocent black people for centuries in America. This story outlines the reality that we don't live in a post racial society. We don't live in an Utopia. If you want change, we have to stand up for our rights, defend our liberties, and enact social action. That plan has been done in the slave revolts, in the U.S. Civil War, in Reconstruction, in the Civil Rights Movement, and in other events of our history. The incident was when 2 people harassed Arbery, and they tried to block his path of jogging. These 2 folks were the aggressors yelling at Arbery. These 2 people believed that Arbery was robbing homes without any evidence. A conflict happened, and Arbery is dead. We desire full justice and those involved in this young Brother's murder to have true accountability.

Rest in Power Brother Ahmaud Arbery.

When you think about Cape Charles, Virginia, this is where a large part of my paternal ancestors came from. In that land, I am certainly related to many families there like the Upshurs, the Onleys, the Nottinghams, the Savage family, the Collins, and other African American families. Many black people in Southeastern Virginia came from North Carolina. That is why many of our cousins and ancestors came from North Carolina. Even though I live in Virginia, I have access to North Carolina's public television, because I live close to North Carolina. She is a woman who was my half 2nd great aunt. Her name is Sarah D. Lee (1917-2013). She was born in Martin County, North Carolina. My father told me a story about seeing her before on Goff Street in Norfolk, VA. Her father was my 2nd great grandfather Adam D., while her mother was Nancy Reynolds (that my father has seen before too. Nancy was a tall woman). She married a man named James Wendell Lee (1920-1955). Their children are Mary Helen Spellman, Corine D., Cora Alberta Warren, and Jonell Lee. Their descendants are related to me on my father's side. Sarah was a religious woman. After these years, the truth is certainly coming out about who I'm related to.

The Justice Department asking a judge to drop the Flynn prosecution is certainly wrong and outrageous. This has nothing to to do with the Obama administration. it has to do with Trump being political and lying about his administration being filled with corrupt individuals. Many members of the Trump cabinet have been convicted of serious federal crimes. That is why oversight is important. William Barr once again shows his views as not representative of impartiality but of being the de facto  attorney of the President. As Adam Schiff has accurately stated, Flynn pled guilty to lying to the FBI about his illicit Russian contacts. This dismissal doesn't exonerate him. One of the saddest news is how one survey said that as high as 20% of mothers said that their children don't have enough food to eat. Many families in America face struggles to get food. That is why food banks are working around the clock in feeding fellow human beings during this time. Many members of Congress are fighting for expansion of SNAP benefits in eliminating the work requirement (which existed since the days of Clinton). I agree with Kamala Harris that food stamps should be expanded. We have an epidemic of a virus and a work requirement should be gone. Many of us are blessed. We have a lot of money saved up, and we have food available. Yet, other people are struggling to survive now in America. This hunger crisis is very much real. With over 33 million Americans filing for unemployment benefits (which is a gargantuan number), we have no time for centrism. Time after time again, I have said that moderation doesn't work. Now, we know that it doesn't work. That is why revolutionary, structural change is necessary to get solutions accomplished.

Today, I found out more information about my distant cousins that I never heard of before. Some of this information is the first time that I knew of this information in my life. In Virginia, many of us, who are black Americans, are very much closely related. People in Southampton County are heavily related to people in Suffolk, Portsmouth, Sussex, etc. because they lived in the same region. My 2nd great-grandfather was Charles Peeples (1855-1922), so I'm related to many Peeples in real life. His wife was Fannie Fronianna Susanna Virginia Brown (1857-1946). Their son was Ray Peeples (1879-1929). Ray Peeples was my 2nd great uncle, and he married Mary Anne Boyd (1881-1957). They had many children like Raymond T. Peeples (1910-1978). Raymond T. Peeples married Eunice M. Everett on December 12, 1933. Eunice lived form 1913 to 2009. Raymond T. Peeples was my 1st cousin. One of their children was my 2nd cousin Shirley Mae Peeples (1934-2003). She married a man named Vernell Emanuel Christian (1935-2019) on December 28, 1957 at Newport News, Virginia. Emanuel Christian was a religious man who lived in Newport News, and their children are related to me. Shirley Mae Peeples and Vernell Emanuel Christian's children are my 3rd cousins. Their names are Brenda Ann Christian (b. 1956), Verneeda Christian (b. 1958), Mark Allen Christian (b. 1959), Vernon Emanuel Christian (b. 1961), Felicia Anne Christian (b. 1967), and Veronica Love Christian (b. 1972). Felicia Anne Christian's (whose husband is Quentin Delvet Graves) children lived in Ohio. Their children are my 3rd cousins too. I am related to the Peeples family by my great grandfather was Joseph Henry Peeples (1898-1972), who was the son of Charles Peeples. My grandmother Fannie was the daughter of Joseph Henry Peeples and Hollie Ethel Seaborn.
