Political Commentaries

One of the most important news now is about how the NY Times reported that intel reports say that Russia pay bounties to Taliban forces to kill US. soldiers. This is serious, because we don't want any U.S. soldiers to be murdered. Also, it relates to the conflict of Russia and the U.S. intelligence community. We shouldn't follow the 2 extremes. One extreme want to invade Russia outright with military forces or obsess with Russia to the point of making a military confrontation with Russia as reasonable. That is wrong. The other extreme wants to coddle Russia as just a teddy bear. These extremists (many of them are leftists) rightfully condemn U.S. imperialism and its crimes against people overseas, but they minimize or excuse Russia's mistakes. Let's keep it real. Russia has far right extremist groups. Putin funds oligarchs to oppress his people and violate the freedom of speech. Russia has a law limiting religious evangelism by Christians. Russia also has been caught in having human rights abuses. Therefore, Russia is not some revolutionary state. It is a capitalist, oppressive state. Putin is not a socialist. Putin is a right wing nationalist and oligarch. After the Stalinism ruined the Soviet Union by 1991, we saw capitalist leaders like Yeltsin and Putin further ruining the standard of living of the Russian people with economic exploitative policies. Yeltsin and Putin certainly aren't socialists but capitalist extremists. Trump has been cozy with Putin, and we know that Trump loves authoritarian regimes. Obviously, Russia denies all allegations. There should be a full investigation, and we should be aware of these events. If this allegation is true, then it shows how callousness is evil (and such an act has no justification at all).

One of the biggest lies made by the far right is that they say that since Democratic-party controlled cities for 50 years have promoted liberal policies, then liberalism doesn't work. First, it is time to define what liberalism is. Being a progressive is about making the government an active force in promoting the general welfare of society. It is about seeing that helping your neighbor as yourself means promoting civil liberties, civil rights, and rights for the oppressed. It is about using the government to invest in public resources and to make manifest justice for all. The post World War II boom lasted from 1945 to 1975 in America. In that period, we saw civil rights movements, anti-war movements, women rights movements, etc. During that time period, we saw a decline of income inequality, the growth of the U.S. economy, more human beings having rights, and the peak of GDP. What happened? By the 1970's, neoliberalism was promoted by the Chicago School. This was when there was massive deindustralization in America (this causes jobs to be gone and urban centers to suffer via massive automation, revenues reduced, and lax investments in communities), austerity measures promoted, and by Reagan's time trickled down economics.

Many cities are suffering not because of liberalism, but because of trickle down economics, cuts to community investments, the War on Drugs, the growth of the mass incarceration state, and other conservative policies. These reactionary policies have been advanced by many Republicans and many Democrats. Tax cuts for the wealthy is not liberalism. Stop and frisk is not liberalism. Gentrification and corporate exploitation of urban communities plus lax wages aren't progressive values. Therefore, we have to look at the truth. The truth is that there must be a radical transformation of society in order for us to experience the Promised Land for real. That means a redistribution of wealth, an end to structural racism, massive investments to eradicate poverty and homelessness, fair taxation, and other revolutionary actions to help human beings.

There is a new type of Trump supporter on the scene. She isn't a self hating person as Candace Owens. Owens makes a living using derogatory comments about black Americans and black culture. This other person is the goddaughter of Alveda King (who is another Trump supporter). She is also involved in debating liberal people in trying to promote her views. She is Angela Stanton King. This is my first time writing about her. There are those who want to disrespect her because of her conservative views. My view is that we shouldn't disrespect her. These conservative extremists feed on that, because they use that as an excuse to promote their agenda. Their agenda is pretty much treat some of your neighbors as yourself, but not all of your neighbors as yourself. That evil is part and parcel of right wing extremism. Angela says that she is for criminal justice reform, and she is for the babies. Angela must understand that the best ways to help black babies is to promote universal health care, eliminate systematic racism, the building up of black communities via the redistribution of the wealth, ending imperialism, and promoting economic justice (that means to make living wages, making the super wealthy pay their fare share of taxation, and extend relief of those financially suffering as a product of the coronavirus pandemic). She also said that she is for black families, but she retweeted a comment (from someone else) on Twitter saying that Black Power is racist.

We know that Black Power is not racist, and it is about black people using self determination in promoting our human destinies as a free people. She also supports Donald Trump. That alone tells me that she is wrong. Trump is a racist, sexist, xenophobe, and an extremist. His response to the coronavirus is horrible, his praise of Putin is disgusting, and his promoting Confederate statues is overtly racist. Trump's praise of the anti-Native American extreme Andrew Jackson won't be mentioned by Angela. Regardless of Angela's pro-black words, her rhetoric is negated by her praising Donald Trump. Anyone supporting Trump is a racist or supports policies of racism. Angela claims to have the religious high ground, but she ignores how Trump props up the Bible after police authorities harm, gas, and assault peaceful protesters in Washington, D.C. Trump is the person who said in public that he doesn't ask God for forgiveness.

Angela may brag about debating people from the Breakfast Club, but I a'int the Breakfast Club. Angela is a Republican, and the Republican Party is known for the Southern Strategy, Donald Trump, promoting Reagan, abhorring reparations, and other evils. I have history, stats, and other facts on my side. Angela supports Trump, who has been accused of sexually assaulting many women, called a black woman low IQ, and was sued over housing discrimination. The First Step Act dealt with criminal justice reform, but Trump wants to limit mail in voting which is a violation of our voting rights protections. Trump mocks communion as little wine and "little cracker." Angela is a Christian, but allies with a so-called President that does things opposite of what Jesus Christ does. One of the many great deceptions of this generation is Trump. People like Candace Owens, Paris Dennard, and Angela Stanton King fail to see that this country is worse now than 4 years ago.
