Friday Developments.

Times may change, but the goal of justice remains the same. The cases involving the Ahmaud Arbery murder and the Kyle Rittenhour situation are in trial now. We have bizarre events where one  judge in the Kyle trial has allowed a biased juror on, and another judge in the Arbery case dismissed many black potential jurors completely. These cases deal with oppression, injustice, vigilantism, and race. There is absolutely no justification for Ahmaud Arbery's death period. There is no excuse for Kyle to buy an illegal gun and go into Wisconsin to kill human beings period. We have been through this road before. We want justice to be served, but we're certainly not naïve. This is why voting matters. Voting determines the type of judges we get, the type of people on our school board, and the type of investments we have including the type of legislators exist in all levels of government. So, it is vitally crucial that we know the issues, stand up for our God given rights, and help our neighbors out of a sincere, justified motivation.

Aaron Rodgers is not playing for the Green Bay Packers, because he has the pandemic virus. You know that I don't agree with Skip Bayless on his obsession to criticize Lebron James and on other issues. Yet, he is right that Rodgers should face accountability for his actions, because Rodgers used deception involving the team on his status. Rodgers talked about immunization, but he wasn't honest to tell people whether he was vaccinated or not explicitly. Also, he didn't wear his wear and follow other procedures that people in the NFL ought to do if he or she isn't vaccinated. Rodgers is a grown man. You can't lie about your status and put your teammates at risk. I agree with Shannon Sharpe that the punishment should be quick and potent. You can't lie about an illness and potentially infect teammaters, doctors, and other members of the team.

The myth promoted by moderates like Virginia Rep. Abigail Spanberger and Senator John Manchin believed that Biden wasn't elected by the him to be FDR but just to stop the chaos. That is a myth. We voted against Trump not just to stop the chaos. We voted to desire fundamental, revolutionary change in society. The vast majority of people who voted for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are black people, people of color, and other human beings who didn't want the status quo of Trump. As black people, our interests should be heard and respected. Most Americans support universal pre-K, most Americans want higher taxes on the super wealthy, and most Americans want stronger voting rights protections (in opposition to voter suppression laws found in Texas, Georgia, and other states of America). We are America, and we are the growing majority. Token moderate talk is archaic, juvenile, and frankly disrespectful to the elderly, the hungry, the oppressed, the sick, and those in need of sweeping change in their own lives (like services to families, child tax credits, and Social Security). Biden signed the American Rescue Plan not to be moderate but to be progressive. The truth is that trickled down economics never worked.
