Early February 2023 Updates.

The GOP House votes to allow guns in the House Committee. This is a serious mistake because many GOP members in the House now encouraged and incited the insurrection against the U.S. government over the lie that the election of 2020 was stolen. Threats continue against members of Congress. Also, you don't need a loaded gun for a debate in Congress. The Second Amendment is not absolute. No Amendment to the Bill of Rights is absolute. Even Heller said that regulations on gun rights are necessary and legal. House members vote to remove Ihan Omar from a key committee. This comes because Ihan Omar is a black woman, she is a Muslim, she was a refugee, and she is a progressive human being. This act is political. Ihan Omar was voted to be removed from the powerful House Foreign Affairs Committee. House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries accused the Republicans of seeking "political revenge" in ousting Rep. Ihan Omar of Minnesota. This lust and worship for guns in Congress raises security concerns at the U.S. Capitol.

One of the most shocking memos of our time is the memo from Air Force General Michael Minihan (who hopes that he is wrong). He predicts that the United States will be at war with China over Taiwan by 2025. It is no secret since the 2000's that experts predict the possibility of war between China and America by the 2020's. This is not some fiction. Minihan said that America is preparing battle plans in case a war happens in 2025. General Minihan's memo said that U.S. military forces spent 2022 setting up the foundation for "victory," 2023 for operational motion building, etc. Minihan is the four-star general in charge of the Air Mobility Command or AMC. He oversees the U.S. Air Force's huge fleet of transport and refueling aircraft and has some 110,000 personnel. For 30 years now, China has increased its military and GDP. It has expanded its trade influence in Africa, the Caribbean, and other places of the world. The BRICS alliance is real. One unnamed Defense official dismissed the memo as not representative of the department's view on China, but a General making such radical statements should be taken seriously. That is why America is working with Japan, Australia, and other nations in making some military alliances for years in case war with China comes up. Russia's military being defeated heavily by Ukraine woke China up to see that Russia's military isn't as powerful as advertised. Minihan's overt militarist statements should give us pause. This isn't some myth. We must be clear to prevent any war between America and China.

The New York Times found documents that said that the FBI appeared to be blinded by a lack of imagination and bias involving the January 6th attacks. One FBI agent and others predicted that the insurrection would cause bloodshed and chaos on Capitol grounds. We don't want this tragedy to ever happen again. We know that the largest domestic terrorist threat in America is far-right white nationalists. The January 6th situation was not an ordinary event. It was filled with terrorism, hatred, murder, and violence against the institutions of democracy. Many Congress people ran for cover. Then Vice President Mike Pence ran from the building with his family and Secret Service agents to save his life. The terrorists waved Neo-Nazi and neo-Confederate flags on Capitol grounds for the first time in American history. This was the full exposure of the evil of far-right extremism. To this day, more people are being arrested, tried, and sent to prison for their treason against America. The Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers were involved in the insurrection being terrorist organizations.

Days ago was the Birthday of the late Brother Jackie Robinson. He was a legendary player who played for the Negro Leagues and the MLB. In fact, he was the first black American MLB Player since Reconstruction. Jackie Robinson married a great woman who is Rachel Robinson. Rachel Robinson lives today, and she is over 100 years old. For decades, Rachel Robinson has been an expert nurse and social activist. Jackie Robinson was born in the South of Georgia and moved to California. Jackie Robinson was a gifted athlete who played basketball, football, baseball, and track and field when he was young. He stood up against Jim Crow apartheid when he was in the U.S. Army back in the 1940s. He started at first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947.

Robinson won the World Series in 1957, he was placed in the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and he stood up for civil rights. Jackie Robinson didn't just speak out against racism and discrimination. He actually protested for freedom, gave money to civil rights causes, and invested in a black-owned bank in Harlem, NYC. Jackie Robinson worked with his wife, Rachel, in going about to stand up for justice. His children are activists too. Jackie Robinson, before he died, became more militant in wanting a black person to own a baseball team. He wrote a book saying that he didn't have it made despite being rich and successful. He meant that as long as black people are oppressed, he is not free fully. All of our people must be free if we are to be free fully.

Rest in Power Brother Jackie Robinson.
