Early March 2023 Updates.

Now, two Georgia election workers are suing Rudy Giuliani after he falsely accused them of election fraud. This lie contributed to MAGA far-right extremists threatening and harassing both women in a cruel, illegal fashion. U.S. District Court Chief Judge Beryl Howell ruled in a 27-page opinion that the case can be advanced against Giuliani. The case is being brought by the mother and daughter human beings whose names are Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss. The judge said that there is ample circumstantial evidence to bring in a lawsuit accusing Guiliani and members of the Trump campaign of having a civil conspiracy in trying to steal the election in Georgia. Donald Trump, Guiliani, and their allies (who were involved in agitating the mob who did the insurrection on January 6th, 2021) falsely accused Moss and Freeman who doing election fraud. Both Moss and Freeman deserve justice against fascists who want to ruin democracy in general.

So far, we don't know about the origin of the COVID-19 virus. There are different views among agencies of the federal government on how the pandemic came about. Some believe it came from a lab leak. Some don't agree with that assumption. It is very important. So far, all signs point to the origin of COVID-19 being a naturally occurring virus from Nature. There is no American governmental consensus on the origin of the pandemic. Most pandemics come from Nature or from animals. There is no conclusive evidence to say the virus came from an accidental leak from a Wuhan lab. Science deals with data and facts. Many xenophobes are exploiting the imperfections of some in the Chinese government as an excuse to push the Wuhan lab lie. Likewise, it may take years or decades to find the true cause of the virus. Reports are growing of hundreds of schoolgirls being poisoned across Iran in months. It is no secret that many reactionary Iranian political leaders are behind the times with their authoritarian policies. That is why many women, men, and others are protesting constantly in Iran in a way never seen since 1979. These poisoning in Tehran and all over Iran are cowardly, evil, and wrong. A boys' school has experienced poisoning too.

Brutal fighting continues in the Middle East. This comes after far-right people dominate the Israeli government now. It is wrong for innocent Palestinians to die, and it is wrong for innocent Israelis to die too. 400 Israeli vigilantes went on a rampage in Huwara, a town close to the northern city of Nablus in the West Bank on Sunday evening. At least one Palestinian was killed and more than 100 people were injured via this pogrom-style attack. It is one of the most violent settler attacks on Palestinians in decades. The corporate media is rarely reporting on this news. Settlers, some masked and carrying guns, and other weapons, set fire to scores of homes and shops. They destroyed 35 and damaged at least 40 more buildings. They torched more than 400 cars and destroyed agricultural property. Nine Palestinian families had to be rescued from their homes, according to Israel's public broadcaster, Channel 12 news. People were shot and stabbed in the mayhem. Settlers attacked other towns in Ramallah and Salfit. Israeli military forces are required by international law to protect Palestinians, but many of them have used tear gas, grenades, and rubber bullets including live rounds on Palestinian people. So, this escalation of violence has no place. Israelis and Palestinians (who are progressive, rational, and compassionate) should come together in solving this problem in a long-term solution.

Days ago was the Birthday of an icon, a trendsetter, and a person who is a genius. There are many people who changed how the world is, and she is a very influential black woman. She is Sister Lupita Nyong'o, and she is now 40 years old. For four decades, she has amazed the world with her intellect and her true statement that true beauty is compassion, not the lying notion that beauty is monolithic. She was born in Mexico City, Mexico. Her parents are Kenyan people of the Luo ethnic group. She has five siblings. Her father worked for the Kenyan government. Later, she grew up in Nairobi, Kenya. She loved to see plays. She acted as Juliet in the play of Romeo and Juliet. She was part of the company of Phoenix Players. She inspired a professional acting career through Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey's performances in The Color Purple. When she was 16 years old, Lupita learned to speak Spanish. She earned her IB Diploma in 2001 after attending St. Mary's School in Nairobi. She was in films like The Constant Gardner and 12 Years a Slave in 2013. Her career increased after the movie of 12 Years a Slave (based on the life of Solomon Northup). She was the sixth black actress to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, and the second African actress to have done so. She was in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The Black Panther series inspired a new generation of people to see the multifaceted, beautiful nature of Blackness on a personal level. She starred in the play called Eclipsed, written by Danai Gurira. The play took place during the Second Liberian Civil War.

She worked in the Queen of Katwe, Star Wars: Forces of Destiny and Beyonce's musical Black is King in July of 2020 (on Disney+). Lupita is forming a television series based on Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's novel of Americanah. Lupita is fluent in English, Spanish, Luo, and Swahili. She lives in Brooklyn, NYC now. She has invested in environmental causes, preserving historical locations, writing books, and fighting hunger in society. She is a beautiful black woman who is the living representation of the refutation of colorism one hundred percent (as she eloquently told in her February 2014 speech at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon in Beverly Hills where she gave a speech on the beauty of black women). Prodigiously inspirational, Lupita shows grace, compassion, and a sense of purpose in building institutions that will undoubtedly stand the test of time. To me, she is one of the greatest actresses in all of human history. Lupita Nyong'o is a real-life hero whose work is beginning to bring more light, hope, and glory to the human family. I wish Sister Lupita Nyong'o more Blessings.
