Recently, some rappers were murdered in Dallas. Murder is always wrong. We certainly have to build in our communities, fight gun violence, and promote morality in our lives. Justice and righteousness go hand in hand. Yet, there are many people who exploit these tragedies as an excuse for them to make this fake narrative. That fake narrative isn't just shown by racists. It's shown by sincere black people too. The narrative is that we (who are black people collectively) stand up against police brutality against black people, but we're silent on inter-ethnic violence in our communities. That is of source a lie. There are tons of black people in violence intervention programs, mentorships, and other community activism circles that both condemn police terrorism and inter-ethnic violence at the same time. Those, who promote that lie, disrespects the many black people who work all of the time to promote peace in the communities of America. Crime is complex, and it's based on socioeconomic factors, proximity, behavior dysfunction, and other factors (not by virtue of color or nationality). The same ones who say that we're silent on intraracial violence are silent on black community leaders, black doctors, black lawyers, black STEM experts, and other black heroes who are unsung. Not to mention that we have a long way to go. This fight for peace and justice won't be easy. Yet, we will carry on. Many of these haters are silent on certain music (not all music) that glamorizes violence, the n word, disrespects of women, and advances a glorification of drug abuse. They are silent on the large corporations that fund these destructive forms of music, and they are silent on making solutions like a radical redistribution of wealth, ending income inequality (as black wealth is very limited to put it lightly), making education more accessible plus more affordable, fighting poverty, and treating this like an emergency. There is still our responsibility to do right. Most black people are not murderers and rapists. There is no excuse for evil. Doing the right thing in life makes a great difference, and many people need assistance in life. No man or no woman is an island. We are all interconnected as human beings, so intervention including investments is necessary in establishing positive solutions in our communities.
Barack Obama said that certain rap music with the bling, materialism aesthetic contributed to more black men voting for Trump in 2020. He was criticized for playing on the conservative" get off my lawn" rhetoric. Do I agree with him? No. The truth is that it is much more complex than that. Many rappers like Jay Z didn't vote for Trump, but a large part of his legacy is rapping about material excess and wealth. Ironically, Obama listens to Jay Z, and both are friends. The black men who voted for Trump didn't vote for him because of bling (found in some hip hop). They voted for Trump because of many reasons like: some are misogynists, some are religious conservatives, some believe in black capitalism or in capitalism in general, some are Republicans, some believe in a more authoritarian form of government, and for other reasons. The vast majority of black men and black women voted for Biden. Black men and Black women are politically mature and astute. We're aren't children. We're grown. You noticed how Obama didn't talk about how Hispanic people voted for Trump more than black people. Obama didn't talk about how the white vote for Trump increased in 2020 than in 2016. "Promised Land" is his new book. As black people, we don't worship some "bling." We just desire our justice. In the final analysis, black Americans are deserving of reparations because of slavery, Jim Crow, and other reasons. You can't just deal with class alone if liberation is to come. You have to address class and racial oppression too.
Many of us are blessed to have houses, monetary resources, and food to eat. Yet, near Thanksgiving, we know that many people are suffering a great deal. Food banks and homeless shelters across America are struggling to meet the higher demand as a product of the pandemic. In Dallas, Texas alone, thousands of people in cars line up for basic food services. This was the largest food mobile distribution project in American history. This is unprecedented since the Great Depression during the 1930's. The North Texas Food Banks handed out 7,000 turkeys, and 600,000 pounds of food on Saturday. That was enough to feed 25,000 people according to organizers. Washington state have over 2.2 million people relying on food banks. If nothing is done, one in 5 Washington state residents will face hunger. In Harlem, NYC, people line up for food at the Harlem's Food Bank. In rural and urban communities worldwide, people are fighting for survival literally. The National Guard in Washington state has helped to deliver food. Rochester, NY has a line of 50-100 people seeking food. Thousands of volunteers are working constantly in Albany, the Bay area in California, etc. to feed humanity. While this is going on, Wall Street have record highs in profits. Therefore, compassion is the order of the day. Moderate policies won't work. A massive transformation of society is necessary to solve this problem.
Tariq Nasheed, Boyce Watkins, Yvette Carnell, Young Pharaoh (this is the guy who wanted to ally with white militia groups and he praised Donald Trump. He also believes in extraterrestrials and praised the pro-Gnostic occultist HP Blavatsky. He's from Buffalo, NY), AfriSynergy, and others of that ilk (who love the wickedness of xenophobia) are more angry that Trump lost than the racism of Trump. These people either support Trump or claim to not support Trump but use pro-Trump talking points in trying to advance their agendas. Tariq (who said that single black mothers aren't entitled to reparations which is ludicrous by him) recently said that massive voting fraud exists which disrespects the black voters across America who voted Trump out of office. Tariq is the same guy that said that voting is useless when voting caused Georgia to be blue. If voting is useless, why did the GOP use voter suppression efforts constantly? Tariq also said wild disrespectful comments about John Lewis after he died, so I have no respect for Nasheed's views. AfriSynergy is a known supporter of Trump when Trump executed anti-black policies for years from cutting services from HUD to defending the police using violence against suspects. We know that the Proud Boys caused violence in D.C. on Sunday night.
I'm glad that these types have shown their hand as being deceptive. Many of these fake pro-black people don't advocate real tangibles for black Americans involving health care, education, criminal justice reform, ending police brutality, and other real issues. They want profits from people in dealing with their meetings, DVDs, and propaganda. Trump reversed Obama-era reforms in dealing with fighting mass incarceration. Trump has increased penalties that deal with non-drug offenses. Trump's budget is known for cutting resources from low income Americans. He doesn't even endorse Medicaid expansion involving health care as a public option. Trump agrees with the death penalty for drug offenses. These pro-Trump African Americans, fake pro-black people, and Hoteps omit that Trump pandered to white racists including violent militia groups. Tariq Nasheed (who is praised by MAGA supporters with Confederate flag for his promotion of the lie of massive voting fraud existing in 2020) is a sellout by making a documentary celebrating the heroic 1804 Haitian Revolution, but on Twitter he promotes denigration plus dehumanization of Afro-Caribbeans plus Africans. Tariq's disrespect of black immigrants is similar to Trump's views on hating black immigrants. Tariq is a traitor for saying offensive comments about black women. He lectures others on IRs, but his mother in law is a white woman, and he lives in a mostly affluent, white neighborhood in California. Tariq doesn't ask Republicans with demands, because he's a hypocrite. Trump has slandered the Central Park Five, called black women dogs, cursed out peaceful NFL protesters, and is a habitual liar. Just because Biden is not perfect (as I am not naive about Biden's errors and policies from him that I don't agree with obviously. Biden regretted his support of the 1994 Crime Bill) doesn't mean that Trump deserves a second term. The Biden/Harris team has filled economic posts with experts on systemic racism. That alone is better than any cabinet member of the Trump team. That is why I am glad that Trump was voted out of office.
