Times Goes Forward.

No one should be shocked at the racist words from GOP Senator Tommy Tuberville. He spoke his mind as a racist GOP MAGA supporter. He represents the face of a large percentage of Republicans. These hypocrites hide behind religion and morality in trying to justify their heinous speech. Yet, their words and ideologies have nothing to do with religion or Jesus Christ. Their words are antithetical to the Golden Rule which states of treating your neighbor as yourself. Recently, Trump has bragged that the crowd at January 6th was large. He said this in Nevada. Tuberville is a Senator from Alabama who lied and said that Democrats are pro-crime and desire criminals to have reparations. We want black Americans to have reparations, and black people helped build up this nation regardless of what Tuberville has said. This liar Tuberville said that Democrats want to take what people have. For him to link reparations to black Americans to criminality is racist and totally reprehensible. Tuberville implied overtly that black people aren't entitled to reparations, because we are just criminals. Tuberville endorsed birtherism against then-President Barack Obama. He wanted a military base in Alabama to be named after a Confederate traitor.

There was a debate between Tim Ryan and Vance. Ryan criticized Vance as being an extremist who supported the insurrectionists. These insurrectionists terrorized people at the U.S. Capitol. Those terrorists used weapons and other devices to try to stop a legal election proceeding in vicious ways. Both political candidates are competing for a seat in the state of Ohio. Vance tried to bait about crime, when crime exists by complex factors of proximity, socioeconomic factors, etc. Crime can be solved by using a holistic approach not locking everybody up for everything under the sun. People believe that violent criminals should be held accountable for evil actions, but nonviolent drug possessors are not equivalent to murderers and rapists. Ryan said that Vance believed in Trump unconditionally. Tim Ryan is not a progressive on every issue. On many issues, he is a moderate and a war hawk. He even has more reactionary views on other issues. Tim Ryan said that he would prefer Joe Biden to not seek re-election for the sake of the new generation to come up (which tells me that Ryan wants to run for President again in the near future). Yet, this race is between a moderate and a far-right extremist in Ohio. J.D. Vance raised money to help fund the insurrectionists who were beating up the Capitol Police. Therefore, J.D. Vance is a candidate that doesn't deserve support.

Yesterday, Angela Lansbury passed away at the age of 96 years. She starred in many movies and TV shows like Murder, She Wrote. That show was about a crime-solving mystery writer. Murder, She Wrote was on CBS every Sunday. When I was a kid, I watched that show all of the time, and I remember the theme song to this very day. She was born in London, UK before going to America. She was in Broadway plays like Mame and Sweeney Todd. She loved her family and his children. She played a teapot in the animated film of Beauty and the Beast. She made her debut in 1944 in the film Gaslight. I send condolences to the family and friends of Angela Lansbury.

Today, we see more events of the Ukraine war. A bridge in Crimea was bombed. Later, Russia retaliated by striking civilian targets in Kyiv and in other locations found in Ukraine. At least 11 people have been killed after Russia launched its wave of missile strikes. Ukrainian officials said that Putin targeted critical energy infrastructure and other regions suffered power outages. Vladimir Putin threatened more harsh responses later on. Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for the attack on the Crimean bridge. International leaders have condemned the Russian attacks and wanted to continue to support Ukraine in its war efforts. Some embassies in Kyiv, including the U.S., urged citizens to shelter in place and depart Ukraine if they can do safely. The Russian command are divided on what to do. Biden said that if Putin uses nuclear weapons in Ukraine, then it will cause an apocalyptic Armageddon battle. Ukrainian military forces secure Izyum, Lyman, etc. They are going down the west bank of the Dnieper River from Mylove to Beryslav. North Korea fires missiles and the U.S. and South Korea respond with large scale drills. America still has the lowest jobless rate in history.

Yesterday was the Birthday of Sister Tramaine Hawkins, and she is 71 years old. She is one of the best gospel singers of our time. Her career has spanned for over five decades. She started her career in 1966, won 2 Grammy Awards, 2 Doves, and 19 Stellar Awards. San Francisco, California is the city of her birth. Later, she grew up in the Ephesians Church of God in Christ, located in Berkeley, California. Her grandfather pastored the church, who was the late Bishop E.E. Cleveland. She worked in gospel groups around Oakland and San Francisco during her youth. I Love the Lord was the album created by her group called The Heavenly Tones (with Mary McCreary, Elva Mouton, and Vet Stone). By the time she was 17 years old, Hawkins sang on the Edwin Hawkins Singer Choir's single of Oh Happy Day. She made her self-titled debut in 1979 with the album of Tramaine. She made more albums and songs. She loves her children and husband. Hawkins remains an innovator of gospel music. I wish Sister Tramaine Hawkins more Blessings.
