Early September 2023 News.

In international affairs, Ukrainian ground forces are advancing south to cut a vital Russian supply line from Donetsk to Herson and Crimea. This has occurred over the last 72 hours. Ukrainian forces are near Robotyne. West Point Professor Jan Kallberg wrote that victory is closer than you think. Some want armored vehicles launched. The Neoliberal ideologue Larry Summers is angry at the progress of Bidenomics. He calls Biden's policies as economic nationalism to be guided as policy. I don't agree with strict economic nationalism, but it is not economic nationalism to build the American economy from the ground up and from the middle out. That benefits the world economy in general because America has the strongest, most resilient economy in the history of humankind. Summers is so neoliberal that he doesn't even agree with compulsory labor standards built into federal funding. The economy shouldn't be run by a handful of oligarchs. It should be won by the people. The White House wants to raise the eligibility wage level for overtime pay rates to $55,000 per year. Now, we have state officials across America evaluating throwing Trump off their Presidential ballots based on the 14th Amendment's section 3 for his role in the insurrection. PragerU is a conservative propaganda service that is working in Oklahoma and Florida to promote the obscene lies that climate change isn't real and the evils of slavery are exaggerated. PragerU believes that voter suppression is a myth, they push their lying videos to schools, and they are backed by far right-wing billionaires.

Coco Gauff goes into the semifinals of the US Open. He is the first American teenager to reach the semifinals of the U.S. Open since Serena Williams. She dreams of winning the entire tournament. She defeated Jelana Ostapenko 6-0, 6-2. This was the 16th victory in her past 17 matches for Guaff. She will soon face the Number 10 Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic on Thursday. Gauff played in the hot humility being 90 degrees. The pro-American crowd applauded her victories on the tennis court. Frances Tiboe and Ben Shelton faced each other in the quarterfinals, and Ben Shelton won. Ben Shelton is the 2022 NCAA singles champion, and he goes into the Grand Slam semifinals of the U.S. Open. We shall see how the U.S. Open will conclude.

Recently, one Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio was sentenced to 22 years in prison for being involved in the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. He has been convicted of seditious conspiracy in the failed plot in trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power from Trump to Biden. The sentence came from District Judge Timothy Kelly. This is the longest sentence given to anyone related to the January 6th, 2021, U.S. Capitol attack. Tarrio hung his head in the courtroom as the judge handed his sentence. Three other members of Proud Boys leadership were also found guilty of seditious conspiracy and sentenced last week. The Proud Boys is a fascist, reactionary terrorist organization whose leading members were convicted of crimes against the American people. Tarrio is not only a traitor to Afro-Latino black people and black people worldwide. He is a traitor to democracy and the institutions of freedom meant to promote justice, not treason. For Tarrio's and other Proud Boys's treason against America, they deserve to go to prison.

The Politico reported that Trump's co-defendants are already starting to turn against Donald Trump. This will mean that some possibly could cooperate with the U.S. government. Mark Meadows still want to send his case to the federal court, because he said that he was just acting as part of his job in the federal government. All 19 defendants in Trump's Georgia case pleaded not guilty and they waived arraignments. People are wondering how long a trial take and if a trial will take place before or after the 2024 Presidential election. We have to see how judges will rule in this situation. Trump's legal strategy is a political strategy in trying to escape justice by running for President. If he wins the election, he can end the Willis prosecution and pardon himself. If he loses the election and Biden is re-elected, there is a high percentage of Trump being tried in a trial, convicted, and sent to prison for a very long period of time. Many Georgia co-defendants are trying to separate their cases too. The evidence against Trump in his four indictments is very powerful filled with witnesses, sources of information, and clear intent in my view.

Yesterday was the Birthday of Sister Imani Perry, and she is 51 years old. She is an expert American interdisciplinary scholar of race, law, literature, and African American culture.
