Today, we see a monumental change in American society. We have seen history made change in massive change for Democrats and Americans in general. All across America, voters decided to vote for Democrats to control the House and the Senate. It was a national rebuke of Trumpism or the MAGA movement. The 2026 midterm elections have been a million times more revolutionary in results than any other time in decades. The solid South changed from being solidly Republican to more Democratic. We have seen Keisha Lance Bottoms being the first black governor of America in history in the state of Georgia. Her victory shows that black women in leadership positions of power always lead to greatness and improvement. The efforts of Stacey Abrams and activists caused this reality too. Keisha Lance Bottoms focused on the issues, spoke the truth, and fought hard to have this victory for Georgia. Gina Hinjosa is now the first Latina Governor of the state of Texas, defeating Greg Abbott. For the first time in American history, more than 100 Democratic women will serve in the House of Representatives. Republican Byron Donalds is elected the first black Republican governor of Florida. Chris Pappas won in New Hampshire. Peggy Flanagan is the first Native American woman elected to the U.S. Senate. Annie Andrews won the South Carolina Senate race too. This election proved that money from Elon Musk, the richest man on Earth, couldn't stop the people. Black people got tired of having their voting rights harmed and the gerrymandering schemes being used against them. Many Latino people were outraged at the harm done to them by ICE and other evil polices of unjust mass deportations (including ICE killing Americans and harassing people). Susan Collins lost the race in Maine. Abdul El-Sayed will be the new Senator in Michigan. Hakeem Jeffries could be the House's first black speaker. Amy Action is the first Democrat to win Ohio's governorship since 2006 and the first woman to ever elected to office, who defeated Republican Vivek Ramaswamy. In Iowa, Democrat Rob Sand unseated his Republican opponent after a decade of GOP control in the state. Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford will win the gubernatorial race in Nevada. Adrian Fontes will win reelection for Arizona Secretary of State.
In Kansas, Adam Hamilton won being the first Kansas Democratic Senator in almost one century. Elaine Luria in Virginia wins Virginia's 2nd Congressional District. Trump said that he will honor the results, but he may face new investigations into his policies and allegations of corruption. Texas, Ohio, and Kansas turning blue in Senate races. Democratic Governor Tina Kotek won the Oregon governor's race. African American woman Julian Stratton won the Senate race in Illinois and Senator Tammy Duckworth won her race, making Illinois the first state to be represented by two women Senators of color. Josh Turek of Iowa is the first former Paralympian elected to the U.S. Senate. With these victories, Democrats could possibly override Trump's veto. Jocelyn Benson, a Democrat, won the Michigan governor's race too. Troy Jackson won the Maine Senate race too. Roy Cooper won his North Carolina Senate race. These events prove that people have had enough with the antics of far-right MAGA extremists. We want change. African American turnout has increased along with other minority voters like Latino Americans. So Far, the Senate has 54 Democrats and 44 Republicans plus the House has 231 Democrats and 139 Republicans. This night certainly shocked me about the Senate, because most of us knew that the Democrats would take the House. The Senate victories among the Democrats prove that there is resiliency in the American people. We Americans want our health care improved upon, affordability involving the economy including housing plus groceries, an end to ICE terrorism, an end to the Iranian war, and legitimate legislation to be passed to help our society. In every part of the nation, we the people spoke fully in favor of progressive values.
One judge dismissed the cast against former FBI officials. The end of the midterm election has been interesting. Haley Stevens has been exposed as hypocrite, because she legitimately condemns anti-Semitism (as that is scourge and a total sin), but she ignores Mike Rogers' complete and overt Islamophobic campaign against Abdul El-Sayed. It is one thing to disagree with El-Sayed, but it is a lie to call him a jihadist, a Muslim Brotherhood member, and a person who wants sharia law to dominate America. Stevens has disgraced herself for the sake of promoting fear against people and dividing people based on creed. The state of Michigan deserves much better than this. El-Sayed on healthcare, affordability, human rights, economic justice, and racial justice is a whole lot better than Mike Rogers on these issues.
One judge dismissed a Trump DOJ lawsuit to block the certification of Alaska Senate result if the Republican loses. Judge Sharon Gleason, an Alaska federal district court judge, told the truth that many voters have already cast their ballots and that there would be o way to determine whether they intended to vote for incumbent senator or the other Dan Sullivan on the ballot, Daniel J. Sullivan, without violating their privacy. At the end of the day, Trump desires total control over the voter apparatus of American society. That is illegal as all voting system are controlled by state and local governments. The Justice Department (which is an arm of MAGA now) desires to appeal the decision. We must defend the rule of law and MAGA makes a mockery of it. Therefore, we have to voice our dissent with authoritarianism and make sure that voting rights are maintained with strong institutions and progressive values.
Some good news is that the Supreme Court rejected the Trump administration's bid to segregate California's ballots. California already has the power to make sure that unauthorized persons can't vote. Trump wanted to restrict the vote in California, because California is a mostly progressive state filled with progressives, black people, brown people, and other minorities. Trump's agenda to restrict votes from legal citizens has been stopped by the Supreme Court, because Trump's election interference attempts are blatantly illegal.
