Some news is that Kentucky's Attorney General and Democrat Andy Beshear has been recently elected as the new Governor of Kentucky. Matt Bevin has been very unpopular for a while. Beshear won because of a massive turnout of voters, suburban support, and support from urban areas like from Louisville including Lexington. This race and others matter as they can tell us the atmosphere of voters during this impeachment inquiry (and soon the 2020 election which is already here). Beshear's father was once Governor. Bevin was the most unpopular state governor of the Union. He saw depression in certain areas of Kentucky. Bevin's hostility towards teachers and Medicaid expansion caused thousands of Kentucky voters to come out and vote against him. Beshear talked about education, health care, and regular issues that people cared about. Right now, Virginia has Democrats controlling the House of Delegates and the Senate. This is very historic. Trump has shown his extremism by appealing to racist, fascist interests, by supporting tax cuts for the wealthy, by promoting deregulation of even commonsense environmental protections, and by supporting the interests of the financial plus corporate aristocracy (not the working class and poor communities collectively).
The Harriet movie is equivalent to Styron's novel slandering Nat Turner. The Harriet movie promotes lies, made up history, and pacifies the real story of Harriet Tubman. It made up a character named Bigger Long (which promotes the stereotype of a brutish black man who is lustful of white women. Long is a black slave catcher which rarely existed in real life), and shows a violent scene about a slave owner killing Long which has no basis in historical fact. Then, these propagandists say that this movie is not about a white savior. This film is not about a white savior per se. It does show the white slave owner being in love with Harriet, which is not true in real life. Yet, it is about manipulation and obfuscation the militancy of a black woman named Harriet Tubman. I don't agree with the ADOS movement, so this has nothing to do with ADOS. I don't have a problem with Afro-British people portraying black American people in movies. It is about Harriet Tubman being lied on, and false stereotypes about black people being promoted in a film. That is what it is all about. The film is the slickest propaganda movie about black people in a generation. No one on this Earth will tell me otherwise. Harriet Tubman was a black woman who loved black men and black people. On this issue, I will stand on my principles.
There are more releases of the transcripts from many witnesses. U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland and former special envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker gave blockbuster information. Sondland said that the Ukraine aid was tied to the Trump investigations. Sondland revised and extended his remarks too. These people testified behind closed doors in order to not be massively harmed by bias. Volker said that Giuliani brought up Biden with him by name. Volker said that he doesn't believe that Biden would abuse his office. Some House impeachment investigators want Mick Mulvaney to testify on Friday, but that seems unlikely because of the pressure from the Trump administration. Many White House officials skipped their testimonies recently. There is no question that Trump and his cabinet have been filled with corruption since the inception of this administration back in 2017. The impeachment inquiry is totally warranted, legal, and legitimate. People want answers. The GOP (who is devoted to Trump like a cult) hypocritically has criticized these proceedings (Rand Paul wants the whistleblowers' name to be publicly released which is inappropriate), but they helped to set up these proceedings to begin with. The quid pro quo done by Trump is ever known by more and more evidence.
The political moderates have lost the argument long ago. They believe in the fantasy that a piecemeal, lukewarm response to massive homelessness, health disparities, economic inequality, record climate change, and educational issues are necessary. They believe that the status quo is fine, no bold solutions, and the support of the free market. These nefarious views aren't just embraced by moderate Republicans but by some centrist Democrats who care more for comfort than liberation. Back decades ago, many people thought that the Voting Rights Act was too bold and impossible. These folks were proven wrong. Some believed that creating Social Security was extreme decades ago. Reagan compared Medicare to overt socialism (when it wasn't and many heroic people have been socialists and non-socialists). These folks were proven wrong. The wealthiest 1 percent of Americans own more wealth than half of all Americans. We are in the time of decision. We know that big banking conglomerates control much of the mainstream media, entertainment industry, etc. Either a handful of people own the wealth or the workers and the rest of the people own the wealth of the world (and redistribute fairly to help our neighbors). I believe in the later view.
Now, the House investigators have released the transcripts of the testimonies of many whistleblowers. Former Ambassador Yovanovitch said under oath that she was told by some to watch her back. She was scared for her life. McKinley proved that Pompeo made inaccurate information about the Ukraine situation. Yovanovitch also said that she was a victim of a conservative smear campaign. Trump wants to stonewall the investigation and smear the witnesses. Trump has threatened to further disrespect Vindman with certain erroneous allegations against him. Frankly, Trump supporters act as cult members. No human is divine on this Earth, but the supporters of Trump desire to support him unconditionally without critique. Some believe that the original whistleblower is CIA analyst Eric Ciarmella. He was outed by far right media sources. Certainly, we should reject the two extremes of far right nationalism and the other extreme of American imperialism. There is no question that there was a quid pro quo involving Trump. We believe in political independence, supporting the working class, and fighting for the rights of the oppression.
