Tons of Political Developments.

Now, the Senate passed the infrastructure bill. It has been a long time coming. This is part of the long legacy of infrastructure building in American society like the Transcontinental Railroads, the interstate highway, and other events. Now, the bill comes into the House for reconciliation. If it passes reconciliation, then it will be signed into law by President Joe Biden. The infrastructure bill is very historic, and only 19 Republicans  (including even Mitch McConnell) voted for it in the House. Progressives in the House want the bill to be accompanied by the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill. We are over trickled down economics (which was popularized during the 1980's) as that economic philosophy never worked. A law passed will help schools and build up jobs to build our roads and bridges. Such a law will expand broadband Internet to urban and rural communities that need stronger Internet services. It will deal with the code red reality of climate change that is causing record wildfires all over the West coast and the massive heatwaves worldwide (not just in the States). This is a significant, historical moment and and a victory for the Biden administration. Therefore, making sure that the infrastructure bill is completely made into law is of the utmost importance.

The world knows about the breaking news about the resignation of Governor Andrew Cuomo. It was a shock to me, because I thought he would fight until the very end. Yet, when you have witnesses and testimonies from 11 women at least, then the words of the victims must be taken seriously. There is absolutely no excuse for sexual harassment. Even back in the day, we know about right and wrong. Therefore, what Cuomo did to many women were uncalled for, wrong, and just plain evil. Him using his mother as an excuse is just plain disrespectful in my view.  Cuomo, to this day, denies many of the most egregious allegations. His brother, Chris Cuomo, is on vacation from CNN now. The new New York state Governor in 14 days will be Kathy Hochul. Kathy Hochul has publicly criticized Cuomo, and she wants NY state to move forward. Cuomo faces possible criminal charges, as his attorney is defending him. Kathy Hochul will be the first woman governor in NY state's history. Kathy will serve one year at least until the New York gubernatorial election takes place.

Rosen has testified for 7 hours on Trump's election tactics of trying to challenging the legal 2020 election. Trump wanted to use his influence to corrupt the DOJ. Rosen's deputy, Richard Donoghue, also testified before the Judiciary Committee. He answered questions for 5 hours. Rosen found out that the acting head of the DOJ's civil division (Jeffrey Clark) was working with Trump behind his back to try to oust Rosen and use the department to pressure state legislatures in key battleground states in trying to overturn the election (and award their state's electoral votes to Trump). So, Clark and Trump worked together to try to form a coup d'etat against the U.S. government. That is why I'm glad that Trump lost the 2020 election. Trump used lied, corruption, and anti-moral actions in trying to steal the election. His attempted coup failed. Rosen and Donoghue said that Trump ally, Pennsylvania Representative Scott Perry, was the person who worked with Clark and Trump to try to overturn the election. So, Trump was working with many Republicans in their attempted coup. Now, the DHS has issued a warning of potential extremists trying to use terrorism against, and these extremists have promoted the lying, false 2020 election fraud claims. These terrorists (who invaded the U.S. Capitol on 1/6) are enemies of humanity.

As for climate change, the evidence is clear that climate change in causing massive weather changes from droughts, wildfires, and to the more vicious intensity of hurricanes. The UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has shown the message that climate change will influence future weather for centuries and thousands of years. The sea levels of the world's coasts are rising. The world is now 1.1 degrees Celsius warmer than pre-industrial levels. We know of the Summer heat wave killing hundreds of people in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. We know of the record wildfires in the West (a growing Dixie Fire has incinerated the entire town of Greenville, California). There was a town in British Columbia, Canada with a record of 121.3 degrees Fahrenheit. More intense flooding and heat are common place presently. That is why new green technology is a necessity in getting climate change under control. We have human minds that can devise complex and more simple methods in advancing environmental protections. If man can go into the Moon, we can use useful, radical policies to address environmental complications.

The disaster in Afghanistan is beyond the actions of one man. For decades, Afghanistan have experienced war and turmoil. Back during the 1970's, the Soviets invaded Afghanistan after a government was overthrown. The mujaheddin was funded by Western interests to defeat the Soviets. After the Soviets left, extremists ran Afghanistan with support from Reagan. Then, the Taliban became the enemy of the West. 9/11 occurred, and the invasion of Afghanistan took place on October 7, 2001 (during NFL Football games. I remember that time just like yesterday). Now, the Taliban is rapidly take territories all over especially Northern Afghanistan in 2021. As American troops leave the nation, the war continues. The neo-cons and the extremists are angry that Biden planned on leaving early. Yet, permanent occupation in Afghanistan with U.S. military troops is an impossible task. Our nation of America spent billions of dollars in that war. Through 4 consecutive administrations, we have seen military involvement in Afghanistan directly or indirectly. The Taliban is certainly wrong in their terrorism by overrunning six provincial capitals. At least 175,000 civilians have died from the Afghanistan war lasting almost 2 decades. The Taliban has recently captured Zaranj and Kunduz. Western imperialists and the Taliban has committed war crimes in the region for years. There is no long term solution in the region without a long term political plan where the Afghanistan people have their own sense of independence. That plan won't be easy either. Although, it must be done.
