Tons of people know of the tragedy in New York City. During the morning of Tuesday, April 12, 2022, a criminal used a smoke device and shot at people randomly at a Brooklyn subway. At least 10 people were shot, and numerous other human beings have been injured. The suspect wore a gas make and used a gas canister. The NYPD is having a manhunt in trying to retrieve the suspect. Investigators haven't ruled out terrorism, but they are reluctant to say what the motivation of the perpetrator is. Investigators want to find a U-Haul van with Arizona plates. At least 29 people have been hospitalized involving the subway shooting. Eyewitnesses have used cell phone video footage to make more light on the occurrence. Frank James is the person of interest. Authorities are trying to get him immediately. Mayor Eric Adams, the Governor of New York, and leading police authorities have all issued their commentaries on trying to stop gun violence and retrieve the suspect into custody. This represents the epidemic of gun violence in American society. There is no excuse for attacking people unjustly. We have to be clear that we believe in moral conduct and justice, not evil violence. We want those who are injured to make a full recovery.
One important news now is President Biden's new regulation policies of ghost guns. Ghost guns are guns made from various parts without any serial numbers. Guns, that lack serial numbers, are more difficult to trace than gun with them. Ghost guns are readily homemade and contribute to the increases of gun crime in many regions of America. This spike in gun violence started in early summer of 2020. Ghost guns can be made as quickly as 30 minutes. President Biden had new rules that require anyone purchasing a kit to undergo a background check, which is required for other kinds of firearm purchases. Those, selling kits, will be required to include a serial number on the components that make up the weapon. That is enacted in order for the firearm to be traced. The new rules mandate firearm dealers to add a serial number to already assembled ghost guns they come across. At least 10 states and Washington D.C. have restricted or ban the purchase of ghost guns according to the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence. Federal authorities have targeted those who traffic ghost guns too. The truth is that comprehensive gun control policies are necessary to fight gun violence. The lie by extremists is that any gun control policy is about gun confiscation from law abiding citizens. It is not. It is about saving lives, promoting justice, and making sure that we have safe communities.
Trump lawyers still are pushing to try to decertify the election amid the 1/6 commission investigation. The New York Times reported that Roger Stone's aide pressed Trump allies to descend on the Capitol days before the terrorist insurrection on the U.S. Capitol. Putin said that negotiations are at a dead end. Russian turned a Ukrainian school into a Russian base. Putin is allied with Belarusian President Lukashenko. They met on Tuesday at the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Eastern Russia. There is an allegation of Russia using chemical weapons in Mariupol. America and the UK are working to try to verify the details. Almost 3,000 people have been evacuated Tuesday from southern and eastern parts of the country where fighting is still going on. In France, the moderate Marcon and the far-right extremist Le Pen are running for the Prime Minister position of France. Emmanuel Marcon and Marine Le Pen are in a close race. There is a shift in French politics. Marcon was a former young banker. He claimed to be not be right or left, but he is a traditional center right politician. He dealt with the handling of COVID-19 crisis. France's more left leaning population have disagreed with him on many issues. Le Pen is part of the right wring National Rally Party. It was founded by her father, Jean-Marie Le Pen. Le Pen is a member of the European Parliament. Also, she allied with far right people like Hungary's Viktor Orban. Macron and Le Pen will face off again on April 24, 2022. Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo want people to vote against Le Pen. Le Pen and her extremist movement is still here. We have far right journalist Eric Zemmour being accused of inciting racial hatred. Le Pen wants to keep immigration under control and build up the police. Marcon wants to raise the retirement age to 65 and force welfare recipients to work for their benefits. So, both of them are bad choices in France unfortunately. We shall see what the future shall be.
This is my first time revealing this genealogical information here. Many months ago, I found about the story of the late Reverend Darryl Francois Barclay Cherry. He lived from 1965 to 2020. I found out that he was my 3rd cousin along with his sister Yael Monique Cherry-Nevius. Both of these siblings including myself are descendants of Sarah Claud, the daughter of Zilphy Claud). Now, how is this so? First, Sarah Claud had a son named Rev. James Thompson Claud. Later, Rev. James Thompson Claud married Susanna Turner (or a descendant of the Native American Nottoway people). They had many children, and one of them was Sarah E. Claud (1885-1920). Sarah E. Claud married William Moses Wright Sr. (1880-1937). The couple lived in Portsmouth, Virginia. Later, they had many children like James Robert Wright (1913-1978). James Robert Wright married Dorothy Mae Fagan (1915-1943) on May 31, 1935 at Portsmouth, Virginia. Their daughter was my 2nd cousin named Sarah Delores Wright (1935-1994). She married Bennie Lee Cherry on June 24, 1962 at Portsmouth, Virginia. The couple had many children like the late Rev. Darryl Cherry, Yael Cherry-Nevius, and Angelique O. Cherry. Both Yael and Angelique live in New Jersey.
