Israel vs. Iran and Other News.

 

Trump had a meeting with his national security advisors about Iran. Trump wants Iran to have unconditional surrender to the demands of America and Israel. Trump's position on Iran has been confusing and contradictory from talking about "we" to desiring not to kill the Ayatollah for now. The truth is obvious. America should not strike Iran, Israel executed an illegal preemptive strike against Iran, and reports vary about the nuclear capacity of Iran. Years ago, the neo-conservatives lied to us about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction and today, Iraq didn't have them. Back in 2007, many neo-cons proclaimed the allegation that Iran could make nuclear weapons now, but in 2025, Iran has no massive nuclear weapons. Now, the MAGA movement is divided on this Iran issue with some MAGA people wanting a war and others don't want America to go to war against Iran out of nationalist, xenophobic reasons (like Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene). We Americans should not go to war in Iran or advocate Israel bombing Iran. Also, Iran is not innocent as it is an authoritarian nation that violates the rights of women, protestors, and other dissidents. Yet, that doesn't give Netanyahu the justification to bomb Iran's military facilities and even civilian infrastructure from TV stations to other places. Trump has sent U.S. warships and aircraft to the Middle East to back up Israel's bombing campaign resulting in overt war crimes when men, women, and children have been killed alone in Tehran. Bombings in civilian locations in Israel is wrong too. We don't need to embrace hawkish neo-conservativism or isolationism. We should promote international foreign trade and legitimate international cooperation among nations without unjust wars. This war in Iran should end, so diplomacy and a negotiated settlement can prevail.

The new Israel vs. Iran war is very destructive now. Civilian infrastructure has been attacked by both sides in Israel and in Iran. Israeli missiles have targeted an Iranian television station location where a woman reporter on the news can to duck for cover because missiles struck the building. One misconception that many people have is that Iran is a mostly Arabic nation. Iranians are not mostly Arabic people. They are mostly an Indo-European people who speak Persian or Farsi, which belongs to the Indo-European language family. Iranians are genetically related to Europeans and other Middle Eastern peoples. Now, Israel has destroyed much of Iran's air defenses, military and nuclear facilities (Israel want to target the fortified Fordow underground uranium enrichment facilities that takes more powerful bombs that America is reluctant to give Israel that weaponry to do it), and other military locations. Now, Israel has also attack Iran's civilian infrastructure like water treatment facilities and energy infrastructure. The destruction of the water treatment facilities in northern Iran caused waves of sewage in Tehran's streets. Israeli forces have killed Iranian scientists and other military plus political leaders without due process of law. Israel has attacked airports, manufacturing plants, and police stations. These are war crimes period. Israeli civilians being harmed and killed is wrong too. Neo-cons like John Bolton desire regime change in Iran. Over 224 Iranians and about 14 Israelis have been killed in this war. The whole situation is an epic, widespread tragedy.

There has been a recent arrest of the NYC mayoral candidate at the immigration court after he supported a man being detained. His name is New York City comptroller and Democratic mayoral candidate Brad Lander. Federal agents accused Lander of obstructing a legal action and assaulting a federal agent (which is a felony). Lander denies these allegations. Lander has not been charged yet. Many journalists including a reporter with The Associated Press saw Lander's arrest at a federal building in Manhattan. This comes after ICE has arrested many Democratic political leaders who stand up for immigrant rights. Lander was released from custody after a few hours. Witnesses saw federal agents separating Lander form the immigrant. Lander said that he didn't assault a federal officer. Lander said that the authorities didn't give any opportunity for due process. This reality is that Trump's ICE and govern is hostile to people who dissent with him. U.S. Senator Alex Padilla was forcibly removed unjustly from a new conference in Los Angeles just last week when he wanted to just as a question to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem about immigration raids. We live in a new country than in 2024 even. The rule of law must be respected, not xenophobic oppression against immigrants. We reject fascism in any of its manifestations.

GOP Senator Mike Lee made a post blaming the Minnesota shooting on far-left people. It was offensive and disgusting. Later, he deleted the post. The assassination of innocent people in Minnesota including a political leader has no justification at all. It is not a game, and it shouldn't be made into a humorous joke. For the recorded, the murderer is a Trump supporter and an anti-progressive extremist who wanted to harm political leaders for ideological reasons. Lee deleted the post, because he knew that it was offensive. So far, he hasn't issued an apology, because his cowardice supersedes his morality and integrity. Lee follows the agenda of MAGA after criticizing Trump years ago. Trump has grown worse in his rhetoric than even in 2015, so we have to be clear to stand on legitimate principles. Those principles are holding fast to the separation of church and state, going about to defend the right to protest, protecting our civil liberties, promoting civil rights and human rights for all people, disagreeing with imperialism, and being true to helping our neighbors. Dehumanization of immigrants is Trump's forte, but we believe in the Golden Rule. In our lives, our legacies must be in accordance to justice and human liberty.

One thing that perplexes is that many people are right on opposing the war crimes in Gaza, right on defending immigrant rights, etc. Yet, they are silent on Putin's war crimes in Ukraine. Trump left the G7 meeting and tries to sugarcoat Putin's actions. Yet, Putin is a war criminal and a murderer. Putin used recent cluster munitiions to kill many civilians. Recently, Russia fired more than 440 drones and 32 missiles at Ukraine in one of the most terrifying strikes on Ukraine, according to President Zelenskyy. Kyiv, the Kyiv region, Odesa, Zaporozhye, Chernihiv, Zhitomir, Krovograde, and Nikoleav regions were attacked. Russia hit Kyiv with cluster munitions. 120 people were wounded and 20 people have been killed Klitschko is the mayor of Kyiv. The places hit in Kyiv were residential buildings, educational institutions, and other critical infrastructure facilities. Homes were destroyed. Also, Shoigu is in North Korea to dsire more missiles to bomb Ukraine. Knowing these facts after Russia illegally invade Ukraine, we have to stand for truth. You can't be truly in favor of justice and ignore Putin's war crimes.
