Trump attacked California Gavin Newsom over having dyslexia, with over 40 million Americans having this learning disability. Trump lied and said that a person with a learning disability is not intelligent, which is not only bigoted and ableist. It is part of the list of the long cruel comments of Trump that show he lacks moral character. Still, some people want to support Trump. Trump should never have been President, but we have silence from his followers because of fear, bigotry, and hypocrisy. Many in the corporate media refuse to expose Trump on certain issues because Trump tries to intimidate his political opponents. This story shows us the truth that elections matter. Trump voters are even more complicit than Trump, as we know what Trump is and what policies that he would do. The voters knew of this reality, and they still supported him regardless. Some try to invoke God as a justify for their voting choice when God doesn't condone pollution of the environment, refusing to ask God for forgiveness, habitual lying, mocking human beings with disabilities, and forming an Iranian war when Iran is no direct of imminent threat to America. The war in Iran outlines how he contradicts the lie that he wanted to stop wars forever. We have an authoritarian in the White House who has narcissism, emotional instability, and a sense of egoism that we have the right to disagree with.
Trump is in over his head. The Wall Street Journal reported that Russia is sharing satellite imagery and drone technology with Iran. This causes Iran to more readily attack American forces. This is not shocking as Russia and China are allied with Iran by various political and economic agreements. Trump is naive to view Putin as some legitimate broker. Putin is a stone-cold far-right nationalist autocrat who even allowed the jailing of dissenting journalists plus other political dissidents in Russia. Russia is illegally invading Ukraine. To this day, you have fake liberals and some MAGA people defending Putin's war crimes in Ukraine (when Ukraine has every God-given right to use self-defense in defending its lands). Also, China is ruled by Xi, who is another autocrat. Trump has a tendency to glorify autocrats and authoritarian regimes, but Trump wants to restrict voting rights, suppress free speech, and desire to permit tax breaks for the super wealthy. That is why while this Iranian war is illegal and unjust, we must not support authoritarianism anywhere on this Earth. Black people deserve our rights to be protected, immigrants deserve liberty, our environment must be protected, and our health care must be available for all people, irrespective of background.
The Trump administration, via the FCC chair, said that new outlets that share what they feel are "distortions" about the U.S. war with Iran could lose their licenses. This chair's words are a clear threat against the First Amendment, as the freedom of the press is paramount in a stable democracy. This is done by the Trump team in trying to justify their war with Iran and suppress legitimate dissent. People have the right to dissent in this world. Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr should be ashamed of himself for advocating that broadcasters must submit to the agenda of Trump or lose their licenses. Carr has no right to dictate to broadcast entities which stories must be shown during the Iranian War. Carr is the same person who wanted ABC to fire Jimmy Kimmel because Kimmel used his free speech rights to criticize the Trump administration. The government has no right to censor the freedom of the press using their right to cover the war without censorship or sugarcoating the reality of the war. Carr's comments have been criticized by Senator Brian Schatz of Hawaii. Aaron Terr, the director of public advocacy at the Foundation of Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) criticized Carr's comments for desiring to silence negative war coverage. The First Amendment must always be protected.
Israeli and American bombs have harmed Iranian cultural sites, too. U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth wanted to promote "no rules of engagement" and fighting to win at all costs, which is nothing more than the promotion of war crimes. Trump's regime is complicit in the murder of civilian lives in the Caribbean and in Iran. The Western imperialist network murdered thousands of people, including more than 150 schoolgirls in Minab. This war has caused many Americans to die, too. Imperialists have bombed cultural sites in the ancient city of Isfahan and in Tehran, too. Trump wants other nations to join him in trying to stop the Iranian blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. The problem is that other nations know that Trump is untrustworthy, as Trump has issued contradictory responses on why he executed this unjust war. Oil tankers are on fire, too. Trump asks a General why the Strait can't be opened immediately, when Trump underestimates the power of the Iranian military. Many Iranian antiquities and cultural heritage sites have been harmed. The Nasq-e Jahan Square was damaged too. Such acts violate international law as found in the 1954 Hague Convention and the 1972 World Heritage Convention.
Some shocking, sad news is that Kiki Shepard passed away two days ago in Los Angeles, California, after a heart attack. She was 74 years old. Compassion and empathy represented Kiki Shepard. Black Joy was in her soul eternally. She always had a smile on her face and presented love for our people and love for the rest of the human race. She was a very important part of our culture, and the gift of entertainment and human joy was always in her spirit. When I was a child back in the 1990s, I watched her all of the time on the classic show Showtime at the Apollo. Every day when she was on the show, she presented an intrepid elegance, demonstrated a glorious presence, showed beauty, and executed a sense of purpose to give unsung people a chance to fulfill their august dreams and aspirations. The Apollo in Harlem, New York, is a massive staple of African American culture. We, who are black Americans and lovers of the arts of every color, honor her contributions to this world, including her massive philanthropy. Her heart was very huge, and now she is being rewarded by the God of Heaven who gave her life. Her story documents once again the empathetic nature of black women and the determination of black people in general to show excellence, humility, and a drive to help our neighbors. She was an icon whose life should motivate all of us to live our lives filled with strength, kindness, and a willingness to improve society.
Rest in Power Sister Kiki Shepard.
