The Start of Spring News.

There are a lot of news involving the Iranian war. Netanyahu claimed that Israel acted alone in Iran energy facilities strike. Netanyahu said that Israel will comply with Trump's ask to halt similar strikes on Iranian energy sites. A damaged US F-35 aircraft has been damaged by suspected Iranian fire makes an emergency landing. This war has caused high gas prices, many lives lost, and it costs us 1 billion dollars every day. This is money being used for an unjust war that could be better used to build the infrastructure of America. This is a Republican war, and it is even worse than the Iraq War. The reason is that people haven't learned the pristine lessons of the Iraq War. Many Republicans are so afraid of Donald Trump, that they refuse to oppose the Iranian war when Iran is no imminent threat to American soil. Israel is bombing Lebanon, and Lebanon wants Trump to intervene to have immediate talks with Israel. Trump wants to pass the voter suppression SAVE Act over lowering costs.

Now, Juliana Stratton won the Democratic Senate nomination. She is the lieutenant governor of the state of Illinois. She led a campaign to confront Trump's authoritarian policies head-on, and she called Trump a "wannabe dictator." She wants Donald Trump to be held accountable for his regressive policies. She is from the South Side of Chicago and wants to abolish ICE because of its corruption and regressive policies against human beings in America. Trump wants to ban mail-in voting and said that America is the only country in the world that has mail-in ballots. France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Chile, Canada, Australia, and many other nations have mail-in voting. Julian Stratton wants Medicare for All, a $25 federal minimum wage, and to get corporate special interests out of politics. Elizabeth Warren supports her, too. At the end of the day, our democracy is worth defending. Our ancestors suffered much worse than we have, so we have the responsibility to defend our freedom with bravery, with empathy, and with heroism. America is for us, too, as we made major contributions to make America what it is today in 2026 literally.

It is not a secret that exercise protects people against Alzheimer's. Now, scientists may know why that is. Physical activity in general can have many health benefits, like reducing the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. A new study on mice goes into the specific mechanisms and proteins that allow exercise to protect our brains. Proteins come from amino acids, which are some of the major building blocks of organisms, including us human beings. Scientists have previously determined that physical activity increases a protein called glycosylphosphatidylinositol-specific phospholipase D1 in the blood of mice, and this protein is associated with good brain health. The protein of GPLD1 strengthens the brain against all sorts of unwelcome visitors within our blood. It protects against inflammation and subsequent cognitive decline. A recent study led by a team from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) had identified a connection between GPLD1 and TNAP (tissue-nonspecific alkaline phosphatase), an enzyme that typically ensures the barrier remains permeable when conditions get stressful. The study finds that the GPLD1 prunes TNAP from tissue to strengthen the brain's protection against inflammation. Exercise produces GPLD1, and GPLD1 keeps TNAP in check to have a stronger blood-brain barrier (plus a lower risk of cognitive decline and conditions like Alzheimer's). This research has been published in Cell.

The DHS nominee is MAGA follower Markwayne Mullin. He is facing a Senate interview as the Senate has the power to nominate cabinet members from the President. He is from the state of Oklahoma. Mullin is a far-right extremist. He voted against reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). Rand Paul had a heated exchange with Mullin. Rand Paul is wrong on many issues, but he is 100 correct on many civil liberty and foreign policy issues. Therefore, Rand Paul wanted Mullin to be on the record on certain issues. Rand Paul criticized Mullin for saying that he understood why his neighbor did what he did to him. Mullin said that the federal officer was justified in killing Renee Good in Minneapolis. Mullin claims that the DHS will be stronger under his leadership. Mullin refuses to disclose his official overseas travel to U.S. Senators. ICE has been complicit in aggressive, illegal tactics against even U.S. citizens. Senators on the intelligence community have interviewed Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, on the ongoing war in Iran. Gabbard claims to be an anti-interventionalist, but she is silent on the illegality of the Iranian war. Trump doesn't want free and fair elections, because Trump denied that the 2020 election was a real Presidential election. Democratic Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania (who sold his soul) supports Mullin.

Yesterday was the Birthday of Sister Ruth Pointer, and she is 80 years old. She is the eldest member of the iconic R&B group of The Pointer Sisters. She was born in the West Coast in Oakland, California. She joined her sisters in 1972 to be in the group The Pointer Sisters. They released their first album in 1973. The group had songs like Yes We Can in 1973, their country crossover hit Fairytale in 1974, and How Long. Bonnie left the group in 1977, so the Pointer Sisters became a trio after being once a quartet. They had their biggest success with songs of rock, pop, and new wave with songs like Fire in 1978, He's So Shy in 1980, and Slow Hand in 1981. Their 1983 album of Break Out caused them to witness their biggest success. It had hits like Automatic, Jump (For My Love), and a re-released version of I'm So Excited, Neutron Dance, and Baby Come and get It. Ruth had lead vocals on Automatic and Neutron Dance. The group won 2 Grammy Awards. Ruth Pointer worked hard as a solo artist too. The Pointer Sisters were joined by Ruth's daughter Issa in the 1990s. The group was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1994. In October 2021, Pointer competed in season six of The Masked Singer as "Cupcake." Ruth Pointer is the last surviving member of The Pointer Sisters. Pointer loves all of his five children. Her son Malike is a singer along with her daughter Issa. Faun is her eldest daughter. She has three grandchildren and one great grandchild since 2016. Both her daughter Issa Pointer and her granddaughter Sadako Pointer have performed as members of the Pointer Sister. Pointer lives in Hopedale, Massachusetts with her husband, Michael Sayles.

I wish Sister Ruth Pointer a Great Birthday.
