One unsung hero of 9/11 was CeeCee Ross Lyles. She said to her husband that "We're getting ready to do it now. It's happening." She put the phone down seconds later and fought to save people on Flight 93. The hijackers were cowards and CeeCee Ross Lyles and other heroes fought them to prevent the hijackers from crashing Flight 93 to the U.S. Capitol building. She was only 33 years old and a mother of four. She was a flight attendant and was a policc officer for Fort Pierce, Florida. She was a detective too. Colleagues called her fearless. She was considered for promotion to sergeant. Her husband, Lorne, was a police officer too. CeeCee encouraged him to join the force. They married in 2000. She later was a flight attendant, and she completed her training by January 2001. She told her husband that she loved him before her passing. The husband and wife prayed over the telephone together. The passengers fought the hijackers and everyone on Flight 93 perished, but their memories live on forever. She and others saved tons of lives in Washington, D.C. with their heroism.
Trump and Republicans have their midterm convention. Trump said that he doesn't care about people's finances. Trump's regressive policies have caused many Americans to pay thousands of dollars of more money for groceries. The health care costs have grown. The Trump illegal war in Iran has caused gas prices to increase and the average American family have spent $579 more. The Iran partial blocking of the Strait of Hormuz is also increased oil prices, fuel, and fertilizer costs. The Trump tariffs (before the Supreme Court ruled them illegal) cost Americans an increase of $1,700. Trump cut nearly 1 trillion dollars from Medicaid, and it is estimated that 7 million people to lose Medicaid coverage. We know that Trump is trying to restrict voting rights from black people, brown people, and other people in trying to grow MAGA GOP power in American society. Trump refused to extend the ACA subidies. 1 in 5 ACA recipients lost coverage this year. Electric bills have increased by 15% in 2026. Trump cuts renewable energy programs, and Trump is in favor of data centers that has increase electric bills. This money is sent to large corporations from Big Oil to other super wealthy financial entities. Cuts to Medicaid and food stamps have ruined many lives. All of this is part of trickle-down economics while workers get harmed. We have to vote out the GOP and MAGA extremists out of the Congress and all levels of government.
Milei of Argentina has praised the evil Pinochet coup. Argentina is in crisis and some far-right people desire Argentina to embrace a dictatorship. By September 3, 2026, Argentine President Javier Milei gave two speeches. In those speeches, he promoted the military coup against Salvdaor Allende in 1973and wanted to promote a naval base in defense of Argentina's claim to the Malvinas islands. Argentina has a massive austerity program harming people. These policies are against the working class and work to submit Argentina to American imperialism. In January 2024, Milei gave a reactionary speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos where he was greeted with applause by oligarches. The Wall Street Journal and Elon Musk praised him. The rise of far-right extremists with MAGA in America, the AfD in Germany, and Milei wants the financial oligarchy to have the majority of the economic and political power on Earth at the expense of the majority of people of the Earth. Argentina's government wants to deport people. Many people need to know that on September 11, 1973, the Chilean military (with support by the CIA, U.S. military intelligence, and the Nixon administration) bombed the presidential palace and caused the dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet to exist. After the coup, Milton Friedman and other neoliberals promoted privatization, deregulation, and the harm of wages worldwide. We don't need unjust wars and capitalist exploitation but economic justice and democratic freedoms strengthened.
An unusual midterm convention took place in Dallas, Texas. It was headed by Donald Trump in what his supporters classify as "Trump-a-Palooza." Trump wants to give Americans $5000 if the GOP wins the House and Senate. This is a bribery tactic to obfuscate the reality of the crisis in American society. We have book bans targeting even public libraries, American citizens being killed by ICE, immigrants being deported to nations that they have no history with, unjust wars, especially in Iran, the massive growth of the prices of goods plus services, the massive cuts to the social safety net, and massive environmental degradation done by this administration. U.S. courts have blocked the GOP political map scheme in Missouri. Trump hypocritically criticizes socialism and communism but wants 5000 dollars sent to Americans, which is not part of mainstream capitalist philosophy. While he attacks mail-in voting, many real Patriots are standing up to defend our democratic freedoms, including voting rights. Many Republicans have skipped the midterm rally in Dallas, because they know full well that Trump is extremely unpopular among the American people (as further documented by various polls). So, we have to stay focused on the real issues of fighting for our democracy that our ancestors bled and died for.
As for the Fat Joe controversy, for years I have made my views known. Fat Joe is the same person who called black women the b word in a Verzuz against Ja Rule. He is the same person who said that since he is black (which he is not), he has the right to use the n word. The n word (regardless of if it has the -a at the end or the -er at the same) has nothing to do with true black culture. It has nothing to do with cultural endearment or tolerance. It has to do with treating a black person as less than human, a sideshow, and a token caricature. It is a dehumanizing word with a long history from slavery to Jim Crow, when black people were lynched in high numbers. Such lynchings still exist in 2026 in Mississippi and all over America, not just in the Deep South. So, Fat Joe is completely wrong to try to call black people the n-word. Many people from New York say that Latinos were raised with us, so they have a pass. They have no passes. Many of us black people in the South and other places of America live next to Latinos in real life, but we, as black people in America, have the right to stand for our dignity. Would you support Fat Joe calling your mother the n-word? No. Therefore, no one should use the n-word, especially against black people. There are Afro-Latinos who are my black Brothers and my black Sisters, but Fat Joe has mostly white Spaniard and Native ancestry. Marc Lamont Hill is being too kind to Fat Joe, even if Hill is right to say that Fat Joe shouldn't use the n-word. Fat Joe said the racist remark that he is the blackest n-word you have seen in your life on the Joe Budden Podcast. Being black is not about being ignorant, saying slurs, and being obtuse to cultural respect. Being black is something you are born with, filled with an inspirational ancestry from Africa, cultural ties to black friends and black family, and being resilient to stand up for our black identity plus black liberation without political correctness. Therefore, let the sellout black people (who have such a lust for validation from non-black people that no one of any color respects them) enjoy being called the n-word all day long like the traitors that they are, but we black people, with dignity in our spirits, refuse to call ourselves or others that term. You will notice that these sellouts omit that Jewish people, Latinos, Asians, Indians, Irish, Italians, Greeks, Native Americans, etc. never tolerate anyone calling their people slurs at all without consequences. Many sellouts say that they do it in New York City. I don't care if we are in New York City, Paris, LA, or anywhere. That word shouldn't be used to describe black people. Racists view black people as monolithic, filled with dysfunction when black people are very diverse filled with unique cultures and aspirations of living life free from oppression. We are not the n-word. We are black people, period, and we are entitled to our black liberation just like every other ethnic group on this Earth. I won't say slurs against anyone. I will defend the heroism and legacy of my black people.
