The Supreme Court's Bad Immunity Decision.

What is Project 2025? Project 2025 is a reactionary set of proposals made by the Heritage Foundation that threaten to harm democracy forever. It is a plan to promote the Republican agenda and promotes a maximalist version of the unitary executive branch which is against the solemn three co-equal three branches of government. Many people in the plan are Trump supporters like Jeffrey Clark, a former official within the DOJ when Trump was President, Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation, Johnny McEntee (an ally of Trump during and after his disgraceful Presidency), Ben Carson, Ken Cuccinelli, Stephen Moore, Mora Namdar, Peter Navarro, and other people. Project 2025 has many plans. Project 2025 wants to abolish the Department of Education, reduce environmental and climate regulations to favor fossil fuel production, merge government with elements of Christianity (which is a violation of the separation  of church and state as the First Amendment mentions that government can't make an establishment of religion), end all DEI or diversity, equity, and inclusion programs (including affirmative action), Project 2025 wants to ban $18 billion sent to low income students (or Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965) sending the money to the states from the federal government, banning free school meals and the Head Start program, and criticize programs to forgive student loans. Project 2025 wants the executive branch of the President to directly control all federal agencies without those agencies have some measure of independence. It is a true plan for disaster and its proposals represent bigotry, anti-democratic hatred, and evil.

The FDA has approved the Eli Lilly's Alzheimer's drug of Kisunla. This is the second treatment founding America to help people with Alzheimer's to slow down the decline in memory and thinking abilities. Kisunla in essence is a monoclonal antibody infusion given every four weeks. The FDA has cleared the drug for use in adults with mid cognitive impairment or early Alzheimer's disease. The drug wants to target amyloid in the brain, which is one major characteristic of the Alzheimer's disease. Last summer, the FDA granted full approval to a similar drug named Leqembi. This will give patients a choice. About 6.7 million Americans ages 65 or older have Alzheimer's disease in 2023 according to the Alzheimer's Association. It may increase to 13.8 million by 2060. Hopefully, in the years and decades into the future, a real cure to Alzheimer's disease can come about. There are side effects of Kisunla like the risk of brain swelling and brain bleedings which can be life threatening. Medicare is likely to cover the treatment.

Judge Merchan agreed to delay in the sentencing of Trump until September 2024. This will come after the Republican National Convention. Trump and his lawyers want to overturn the case after the Supreme Court decision to give Trump some immunity. Recently, Donald Trump reposted an image falsely calling Liz Cheney guilty for treason and wanted her to be prosecuted in televised military tribunals. Trump has repeatedly called for the imprisonment of his political opponents including members of the January 6th committee. The Supreme Court decision in Trump v. United States represents a new era in American history, because it falsely makes the President above the law in many circumstances. This means that a President can commit virtually any crime that he or she wants as long as it is an "official action." Dissenting justice Sonia Sotomayor is right to mention that the majority decision, "makes a mockery of the principle, foundational to our Constitution and system of Government, that no man is above the law." Therefore, the fight for democracy must continue.

We have a clear choice in this election.  What is true is that an older man will be elected President in 2024. We have a real threat to democracy. As I have mentioned before, this is the biggest threat to our democracy since the American Civil War. Most of the Supreme Court is allied with Trump and desire Trump to be near monarchs. That is disgraceful, but it is true. The Supreme Court basically made the executive branch nearly without total restraint in contradiction to the separation of powers among all three branches of government. Some want to expand the Supreme Court, and that call doesn't seem bad. It seems to be a resolution that must be heavily considered with the course of extremist decisions that has existed in the Court. Project 2025 is clear that they want the executive branch to restraint the powers of the legislative and judicial branch. That is evil, fascist, and anti-democratic. Project 2025 is one of the worst documents in human history.

Once again, the Supreme Court issued another 6-3 disgraceful decision. The Supreme Court on Monday, July 1, 2024, mentioned that Trump has broad immunity from prosecution if it involves official acts while in office. The Court gives Trump no immunity for unofficial acts. The problem is that official and unofficial acts aren't properly defined by the court. This hinders Special Counsel Jack Smith's election subversion case. The majority decision came from Chief Justice John Roberts. Roberts wrote that the President is not above the law, but he contradicts himself by writing that Congress can't criminalize the President's conduct in carrying out the responsibilities of the executive branch under the Constitution. Smith's case is now placed into lower courts to see the difference of official and unofficial acts. The Court said that Trump's conversations with the Justice Department to try to steal the 2020 election is covered under immunity. The Supreme Court knew what it is doing by being in support of Trump. There are three Justices who opposed this decision. Six Justices is trying to empower Trump to escape accountability for his past, present, and possible future actions. This is a sad day for democracy. Recently, the Supreme Court ruled that Presidents can be near monarchs to commit crimes, bribery is legal, federal regulatory agencies have no authority to have real regulations to keep us safe (banning the Chevron rule), and homeless people can be punished for being homeless, even in public areas. The bigoted Project 2025 agenda from Trump and his allies is real. Therefore, we should definitely vote to preserve and grow our fundamental human rights.
