The Start of 2024's Chicago Democratic National Convention.

On Monday, the Democratic National Convention has started. It has been a historic convention filled with emotion and inspiration. Democratic people have been energized and unified. This is not 1968 filled with division and chaos. President Joe Biden wants to pass the torch to Vice President Kamala Harris. After one million deaths from COVID-19 in America alone, the inauguration of Biden, the Inflation Reduction Act helping Americans, the COVID Relief law saving lives, and the infrastructure law, we have seen massive improvements in America now. We still have a long way to go with the war in Gaza, high prices, and other issues. Yet, we are much better now than four years ago during the Trump regime. Country singer Mickey Guyton will perform on Monday. Guyton was the first black woman to receive a Grammy nomination for Best Country Solo Performance in 2021. Her song Black Live Me in 2020 has inspired the world. Mikcey Guyton performed the song All American at the DNC. Four people were arrested after a fence breach near the DNC, according to Chicago police. More than 200 content creators have been credentialed for the event in Chicago from Tiktok influencers to authors. Democrats honor Rev. Jesse Jackson in an emotional tribute to the civil rights leaders. Jackson has Parkinson's disease and moves on a wheelchair on stage. Rev. Al Sharpton and NAACP President Derrick Johnson are with him. Chair of the Democratic Party, Jamie Harrison credited Jesse Jackson's 1984 campaign to give people hope. The convention is being held in the United Center. Lauren Underwood, who is a House member, gave a speech at the DNC to defend Kamala Harris too. Union leader Lee Saunders gave a speech to defend the labor record of the Biden and Harris team. Union speaker from CARE has given a defense of Kamala Harris on economic and labor rights in America.

Day One of the DNC ended with a lot of speakers and excitement. President Joe Biden said that choosing Kamala Harris as his running mate in 2020 was the best decision that he made in his whole career. Biden praised Kamala Harris as a leader children can look up to, respected by world leaders, and a President that we can be proud of. Biden's speech is about Trump passing the torch to the next generation of Kamala Harris. Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock said that a vote is a kind of prayer for the world we desire for ourselves and our children. Hillary Clinton spoke at the convention to say that she wanted her grandchildren and their grandchildren to know that she had been there when the glass ceiling finally shattered as she hoped for Kamala Harris to be the first woman to win the Presidency of the United States of America. The audience in Chicago cheered Biden with a four-minute ovation for his accomplishments as President. Biden praised the four years of extraordinary progress in American society, from lower crime rates to low unemployment, the cut in childhood poverty to half, and the value of good government. Biden said that the pro-Palestinian protesters in Chicago have a point that massive civilian deaths in Gaza are abhorrent. Innocent Israelis and innocent Palestinians being dead have no justification. New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke to cheer Harris' work to end the fighting in Gaza promoting a ceasefire and bringing the hostages home. Michigan State Senator Mallory McMorrow exposed Project 2025. Kamala Harris made an appearance in the DNC rally to widespread cheers. Rep. Jasmine Crockett gave an emotional speech about how Kamala Harris supported her when she was stressed out when she first came into Congress. Rep. Jasmine Crockett criticized Trump as being the wrong person to lead America and supported the policies of Kamala Harris.

Day 2 of the 2024 Democratic National Convention was filled with excitement, hip-hop music, and realism. Barack and Michelle Obama energized the audience at the DNC with their speeches. Their back-to-back speeches criticized Donald Trump's agenda. The former First Lady Michelle Obama wants people to reject the Goldilocks complex (of believing that everything is fine by doing nothing) and work hard to elect Vice President Kamala Harris as the new President of the United States of America. Former President Obama wanted to promote reconciliation by saying that most Americans want to live in a country that is not bitter and divided. Brack Obama chanted Yes we can and the new phrase of Yes she can in reference to Kamala Harris. Brack Obama and Michelle Obama are very popular among the American people. Barack Obama said that Trump is obsessed with crowd sizes and whiner of his problems. This comes 20 years after he gave his historic convention speech when John Kerry ran for President. I was 19 back in 2004. Barack Obama wants to reject chaos, false conspiracy theories, and an algorithm obsession. He wants to promote high virtues like justice and equality (and talked about the links between his late mother-in-law and his late mother). Second gentleman Doug Emhoff gave his story of his relationship with his wife, Vice President Kamala Harris. Their family is a blended family which is heavily common in the modern world. Day 2 also saw Republicans who will support Trump like Mayor John Giles of Mesa, Arizona, Kyle Sweetser, former Trump White House press secretary and chief of staff Stephanie Grisham, and other people. Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders praised Joe Biden and endorsed Kamala Harris for President in a speech. Sanders said that Project 2025 is part of a radical agenda. There was the roll call to officially nominate Kamala Harris as the Democratic Presidential candidate for President as she is the first black American and Asian American woman officially established as the Democratic Presidential nominee in American history. DJ Cassidy used music to promote each state and territory to announce the delegate vote. Some songs were from Bruce Springsteen for New Jersey, Jay Z ft. Alicia Keys for New York, and Petey Pablo for North Carolina. California had songs too. Navarro criticized Trump's behavior as similar to communist dictators. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz had a rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to celebrate their candidacy and promote their campaign. So, Day 2 saw Kamala Harris with the torch, and now we see the official end of the 2024 campaign in the near future.

There is a recent study about aging. One study found that human beings age more rapidly at the age of 44 years old and at 60 years old. Scientists found out that human beings age at a molecular level in those two ages. This study is published in the Journal of Nature Aging. Scientists at Stanford University and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore followed 108 people over many years to observe aging changes in molecules like RNA, proteins, and the participants' microbiomes. The first author of the study is Xiaotao Shen, an assistant professor in microbiome medicine at Nanyang Technological University. People get more muscle injuries and see their fat accumulation hit in their 40s via lipid metabolism. People have more muscle loss or sarcopenia when people hit their 60s. There are tissues, skin, muscle, and cardiovascular changes that happen to us as we age. The lesson of the study is that folks should exercise more, use more strength-building exercises, drink little to no alcohol, and do other actions in their 40s and 60s. Synder advised people approaching their 60s to watch their carb intake and drink plenty of water to help aid kidney function.

Wally Amos of Famous Amos Cookie fame passed away recently at 88 years old. Famous Amos chocolate cookies were one of the greatest cookies that I ever tasted in my life. Wallace Amos was a great advocate for children's literacy in real life. Amos was born and raised in the South in Tallahassee, Florida. He lived in New York City when he was 12 years old to live with his aunt, Della Bryant. He loved to promote cooking as he was an expert chef. That is why he was enrolled at the Food Trades Vocational High School in New York City. His aunt Della would bake cookies and send them to him when he was in the military. Amos worked hard as a talent agent and signed artists like The Supremes and Marvin Gaye.

Rest in Power Brother Willy Amos.
