U.S. organized United Nations-sanctioned forces are continuing to roll out their deployment in Haiti, the Western Hemisphere's poorest country. Some have a flimsy reason for this to justify this act for humanitarian concerns. America and Canada pushed for Kenya's right-wing government to take the leadership of what is known as the UN Multilateral Security Support Mission to Haiti. Between late June and mid-July, 400 Kenyan National Police Special Forces personnel arrived in Haiti, short of the promised 1,000 strong contingents. They are to be joined by 1,500 troops from Jamaica, the Bahamas, Bangladesh, and Bening to work with the corrupt Haitian National Police force. America funded the police and military mission with $380 million. Canada has funded this effort too. Haiti has been plundered by Western forces for over 2 centuries now. Imperialists wanted to stop Haiti from being a truly independent nation. America intervened militarily in Haiti for over one century. Rival gangs dominate Haiti. About 578,000 people have been recently displaced out of Haiti. 1.5 million children have been forced out of schools too. The Haitian bourgeoisie has failed to help Hai with its ties to imperialists. There is no solution unless there are reparations sent to Hai, capitalist exploitation ends, and infrastructure allows Haiti to be its own nation without imperialism and without reactionary gangs.
The evidence in the January 6th case against Trump could be released under the new schedule before the election. Judge Tanya Chutkan has set a schedule in the federal subversion case against former President Donald Trump. It will allow prosecutors to release never-before-seen evidence like grand jury transcripts before the end of the Presidential election. The deadline for the filing from prosecutors is September 26, according to the latest order from the judge, which largely sides with the special counsel Jack Smith's proposed schedule discussed at Thursday's hearing. The Trump defense team wants to delay the public release of evidence in the case until after the November election. Chutkan will control its release. Chutkan set a timeline for Trump's challenge to the indictment on statutory grounds to be briefed in October. Chutkan on Thursday expressed her skepticism to a Trump plan to challenge the indictment because Smith was illegally appointed, even as she allowed his team the opportunity to do so.
The Assistant Secretary of State in November testified in Congress that the death toll was much greater than what Hamas was releasing. The slaughtering of Palestinians by the Netanyahu regime remains one of the most blatantly overt war crimes in our generation. There is no excuse for bombing churches, hospitals, and other civilian targets in Gaza. There is no excuse for some far-right Israeli settlers to assault Palestinian people in the West Bank. There is no excuse for Hamas to beat, murder, and rape Israeli civilians also. The irony is that Netanyahu said that there can be no two-state solution when 2 state solutions have worked from India/Pakistan to other regions of the world. We must be in favor of the environment too. Kamala Harris is right on many issues, but I respectfully disagree with her on supporting fracking. Fracking causes toxic chemicals to be in the air ruining our climate. We have toxic waste plants in Louisiana destroying the black lives in the Deep South without anyone successfully stopping that corporate exploiting of hardworking people. Therefore, we need real policies to improve our environment.
