Trump's' DOJ admitted that it will stop enforcing U.S. law against foreign bribery. This is treason. Tulsi Gabbard confirmed as Director of National Intelligence. Gabbard is the sellout who claims to be anti-war, but she supports Trump who desires to colonize Greenland, colonize Gaza, and glorifies war criminals and war mongers like Putin and Netanyahu. I am glad that Marc Fogel is free. Yet, he is wrong to praise the dictator Vladimir Putin. Putin is an enemy of democracy like Urban. We know what Putin wants, and it isn't just Ukraine. We have to beware of Putin, because in 2029 and in the early 2030s, we have to be prepared for what is to come. Elizabeth Warren has sounded the alarm that FDIC staffing shortages put banking system at risk. These MAGA extremists want the government to collapse causing pain, because they have an ideology who views capitalism as infallible without need of any regulation. They bow down to Mammon and seek a total privatized, theocratic society.
The acting U.S. Attorney in New York said that NYC Mayor Eric Adams' attorneys offered a quid pro quo if an indictment was dismissed. Acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Danielle Sassoon resigned from her position in a letter to the attorney general, according to a person familiar with the matter. Sassoon's letter was made to Attorney General Pam Bondi being about 8 pages. Sassoon's views are that circumstances made it impossible for her to continue in the post. The Justice Department dropped the federal corruption case against Adams have raised questions about the U.S. attorney's office. The Justice Department during the Biden years brought public corruption charges against Adams in the first prosecution of a sitting mayor in the city's modern history. Adams has pleaded not guilty, and the case was to go to trial by this Spring. Adams was accused of illegal actions. Now, Adams has not gone to trial.
There is a negotiation about what Ukraine will be. Trump plans on meeting with Putin and Zelensky about the future of Ukraine and trying to end the war. The war in Ukraine started by Russians using a preemptive, illegal invasion of Ukraine. There is no justification for this, and the war crimes against the Ukrainian people. Trump might force Ukraine to accept concessions in trying to end the war like Ukraine giving up much of its territory. The future is uncertain, but one thing is clear. Trump is much more pro-Putin than Biden. At the end of the day, there is a distinction between the Russian people wanting freedom and Putin (who is a dictator). Ukraine deserves to be free. We all want the war to end, but it has to end on fair terms without Putin having a free reign to invade other nations illegally based on his interests.
Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl Halftime Performance was historic in the sense that it was not any other halftime show. The show wasn't meant to be extremely flashy like the performances of Usher, Beyonce, etc. but to convey many political and social points via a sophisticated and overt fashion. It was like a performative arts play filled with depictions of race, music, America, and other themes. Many of the older generations sincerely didn't know what Kendrick Lamar was talking about, because they weren't knowledgeable about hip-hop culture or the nuisance of his message. Many hip-hop fans know what Kendrick Lamar is talking about. Other critics of the performance are straight-up MAGA followers and racists who view any display of black artistic expression as bad. Some of these racists didn't like the Black National Anthem shown in the Super Bowl when the Black National Anthem is a black American song, February is black history month, and other anthems (like the Canadian national anthem, etc.) have been shown in sporting events for decades. These hypocrites claim that Beyonce can't do country music (when Beyonce is from the South, sang at rodeos, and has embraced country music since her childhood), but they are silent on Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers doing pop music.
Here is much of what was the meaning of the Halftime show. At the start, Uncle Sam is presented (played by Samuel L. Jackson). Samuel L. Jackson represents a defender of the status quo who wants Kendrick Lamar to confirm to respectability politics and tokenism. Lamar in his performance refuses to abide by the agenda of the Uncle Sam character. Uncle Sam said that this is a great American Game on a video game controller. Uncle Sam means that the game is rigged against the oppressed using politics, prisons, etc. to harm human lives. Kendrick Lamar wants to show his Blackness on the board. Later, Lamar stands on the GNX car. He wears an A chain. He wears a jacket representing Gloria (referencing a song from this GNX album and Gloria is a Spanish for glory). Uncle Sam wants Lamar's performance to be tempered and not be "too ghetto." This is in reference to far-right conservatives who want black people to not be too black in their expression and docile to the mainstream. Kendrick Lamar shows the American flag being in the middle of it showing how America is still divided on race, politics, gender issues, etc. The lights in the performance showing Warning Wrong Way have many meanings showing how America is going in the wrong way and how black people shouldn't go into the wrong way in life. Lamar showed dancing people and West Coast culture as Lamar is from Compton, California. The event celebrated the Oakland based dance group of Tuf Feinz. SZA performed songs with Kendrick Lamar at the Super Bowl too like All the Stars. Samuel L. Jackson does a brilliant job representing the status quo. Kendrick Lamar performed the song Not Like Us and said that Drake loves to sue (in reference to the defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group of the release of Not Like Us). I don't agree with Drake's home being broken into and Drake being threatened by crazed fans, but Drake has made many problematic statements and did problematic acts for years (For example, he texts minors in a bizarre way who is not related to him, he allows his entourage to beat up innocent people for no reason with his knowledge, and he made the offensive comment about claiming that Lamar wants to free "the slaves" in a sacracastic way plus he did blackface).. Kendrick Lamar said that he wants this to be bigger than music but about 40 acres and a mule. In other words, Lamar wants black people to be totally liberated and not content with what things is now. Serena Williams dancing in a Crip Walk dance (she said that she did it to show love, not glorify gang violence) is ironic as she was Drake's ex-girlfriend. Serena Williams is also from Compton like Kendrick Lamar. Years ago, Drake disrespected Serena in a song, and Serena Williams dancing in the show represents that response. The lights showing Game Over is obviously a reference to the end of the show and how he defeated Drake in the hip-hop battle (and it's over). The Halftime show had tons of symbolism, references, and dancing. Kendrick Lamar is very smart as we Millennials (including Baby Boomers, Generation X, Zoomers, etc.) are very intelligent. His messages in the Halftime performance are very clear. Blackness was shown in the Super Bowl. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles won the Super Bowl, Ledisi sang the Black National Anthem, Southern University's marching band showed their music to the world, and Jon Baptiste sang the American anthem. Ledisi and Jon Baptiste are from New Orleans. At the end of the day, we black people deserve our freedom and justice without compromise or restraint.
