The Trump administration denies trying to cut Social Security, but they lied and said that they have nothing to do with Project 2025 (when Project 2025 policies are being implemented daily). Elon Musk is using his DOGE to try to harm the Social Security office. More people per capita have Medicaid in more red states than blue states. So, if these cuts are passed by Congress, then many rural and conservative people will be harmed. According to AP, only less than one percent of payments in dealing with Social Security were improper. The General Accounting Report that reports about places people can save money greatly, so we want the government to work better without massive austerity cuts that will harm millions of Americans. rump lied and said that America will immediately have a booming economy, but we have large market drops, high inflation, and massive cuts to federal jobs unjustly. Trump wants to double tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum. Conservatives, liberals, and people from across the political spectrum oppose these tariffs as they will harm consumers, workers, and other people in America.
A leaked memo shows that DOGE wants to target the VA with the plan of trying to fire more than 80,000 agency workers who provide critical services to veterans and their families. More than 25 percent of the staff are veterans themselves. This is part of the cruelty agenda of Trump and his allies. Anyone defending Elon Musk, who called Social Security a ponzi scheme, and supports Trump is deceived. Musk's Social Security changes may put payments at risk. More Americans know what Musk is doing. That is why people are protesting in the streets. If Musk's plans are not stopped, then benefits payments may be stopped. Musk's DOGE agents are illegally monitoring the personal information of American workers.
Trump has signed executive orders targeting law firms that work with groups that disagree with his views. This is blatantly against the First Amendment. Trump wants to target Perkins Coie to promote intimidation against people who dissent with Trump's fascism. Now, this is an attack on dissent. Trump wants to suspend the security clearances of attorneys at Perkins Coie, a law firm linked to the Democratic funded opposition research during the 2016 Presidential campaign into any ties between Trump and Russia. Trump wants to order the Attorney general, the director of national intelligence, and other agency heads to get rid of security clearances held by people at Perkins Coie, pending a review on whether such clearances are in line with national interest. The spokesperson for the firm said that the executive order is illegal and will challenge it.
Recently, the pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil has been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Saturday night. Khalil is a U.S. permanent resident who was born in Syria. He graduated from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) in December 2024. He a lead negotiator for the Gaza Solidarity Encampment protest in April 2024. His detention is a massive escalation by the Trump regime to silence political dissent. The truth is that Hamas is a terrorist organization that murdered innocent men, women, and children. Also, it is a fact that far right Israelis are complicit in war crimes in Gaza too (banning electricity in Gaza, banning humanitarian aid in Gaza, and massive other war crimes). Advocates for Khalil said that when Khalil and his 8 months pregnant wife entered their home in an apartment building owned by Columbia University, two agents of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) wearing badges came to them. They had identifying uniforms and pushed inside behind them. The DHS agents at first refused to identify themselves and threatened to arrest Khalil's wife is she didn't leave. This is illegal. The agents claimed that the State Department revoked Khalil's student visa, but his wife showed them his green card (which is proof that he is legal resident). DHS claimed to have revoked it as well. Khali's attorney, Amy Greer, demanded over the phone to see a warrant, but the agents hung up on her. This is again illegal of what the DHS has done as no one should be detained without a warrant or probable cause.
Trump publicly wants pro-Palestinian international students to be deported, because he believes in the lie that every pro-Palestinian protestor is an anti-Semite who bows before Hamas. Legally, the State Department can't unilaterally revoke a green card. That is illegal. There must be an immigration judge to determine whether a person's legal residence status can be revoked after it has been proven that criminal activities have taken place, according to Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, a senior fellow with the American Immigration Council. There is no conclusive evidence that Khalil is actively a member of Hamas or directly funds Hamas. Free speech must be maintained in society. Trump wanting punishment against what he deems as "agitators" is anti-First Amendment. Dissent with Trump's policies is not anti-American. It is truly anti-American for people to deny genocide. Rubio wants to revoke the visa of certain people like Mahmoud Khalil who hasn't been charged with a crime. If these fascists like Trump want to deport permanent residents for dissent, then they will try to target U.S. citizens for deportation in my opinion. The New York Civil Liberties Union condemned this action by ICE as immoral and illegal, and the NY Civil Liberties Union is right. One judge blocked the deportation of the Palestinian graduate student Khalil.
