Signs of the Time.

Trump hypocritically claims to be cracking down on fraud in Minnesota, but he has pardoned actual fraudsters. Over half of his 88 individual pardons have been for white-collar crimes, including money laundering, bank fraud, and wire fraud. With the Davos meeting, people have every right to denounce the policies of Trump. Davos is an annual conference for the super-rich and influential people of the oligarchy and the establishment. Right now, more than 3,000 ICE and Border Patrol agents (with the possibility of them being joined by 1,500 active-duty military) patrol Minneapolis, hundreds of global CEOs, including prime ministers plus presidents, gather in Davos, Switzerland. This meeting is part of the World Economic Forum, where some of the richest capitalists on Earth discuss their policies. Trump is an extremist by withdrawing from climate treaties, invading Venezuela and abducting Nicolas Maduro, upending trade rules, and desiring to annex Greenland. Trump has increased tariffs on Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland because they support Denmark's refusal to allow America to annex Greenland. Trump wants to sue JPMorgan. Trump is a person who is a clear and present danger to America and the world.

ICE using more disgraceful tactics against the people of Minnesota is clear for everyone to witness. One man who was living in Minneapolis was kidnapped by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and died on January 14 at the Camp East Montana concentration camp in El Paso, Texas. Many people have died in the custody of ICE. The killing of Renee Nicole Good was a turning point in our history. Good was driving away, and one ICE agent shot her multiple times when she was no threat to the ICE officer. One situation when ICE agents forcibly removed an elderly U.S. citizen who is only wearing a blanket and underclothes from his home. This person was released later that day. His family said that he was wrongly targeted and is exploring legal action. This action is wicked and unjust. The victim's name is ChongLy Thao. According to Thao, he was not given an explanation or an apology. The DHS lied, and Thao's family said that Thao doesn't live with sexual offenders. There is another story of a person being racially profiling, having legal documents to work (he had every federal right to work in St. Paul), and this person faces possible deportation. Trump, Noem, and others embrace the demonic evil of xenophobia, but the Golden Rule is superior to the MAGA movement.

We know that air pollution from industrial facilities is a major source of bad health for people, including the poor and working-class people. We know about Cancer Alley along the lower Mississippi River. That location is one of the highest concentrations of industrial facilities and airborne pollution in America. The residents have overall disease and birth defect rates up to seven times the U.S. national average. Many communities in America have massive industrial pollution. Now, the Trump administration wants the EPA, or the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to change its policy as it deals with the control of air pollution. A New York Times review of internal EPA emails found that the EPA is considering not include polluatnats of fine particulate matter and ozone as part of industrial air pollution effects on humans. This is done to cause oil companies to benefit. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin harbors hatred of environmental regulation. The EPA has weakened the regulation of the extraction and use of carbon-rich fossil fuels (coal, oil, and natural gas), which are major sources of air pollution. Trump's team has targeted wind and solar farms, which are now less expensive than fossil fuels. Greenhouse gas emissions rose by 2.5 percent in 2025, according to Rhodium Group. The EPA ended publishing dates on greenhouse gas emissions. These actions are attacks on humanity and the environment in general.

Two Army Battalions are on standby for possible Minnesota deployment. The situation in Minnesota has nothing to do with immigrants, all Americans, or public safety. It has to do with a male who wants control, authoritarianism, intimidation, racism, and xenophobia to reign in American society. ICE agents have been caught on video tape using tear gas near a 6-year-old baby, assaulting innocent U.S. citizens, racially profiling innocent people, and detaining U.S. citizens. The Trump administration has demonized protesters who want to exercise their free speech rights. This is not new. ICE has done similar cruel, illegal behavior in Los Angeles, Chicago, and all over the world. Many ICE agents have been documented to drag people out of vehicles, and we have Trump calling Somalis "garbage" in a racist fashion. Even indigenous people have been detained in Minnesota. The federal government has created the problem. The massive surge of ICE has caused schools to close, people living in fear, and lives harmed.

There are stories of Native Americans being detained by ICE in Minnesota. In recent times, resources have been stripped by Native Americans involving mental health, health care, and other vital services. The Trump administration has cut Medicaid from its legislation. Thousands of Native Americans have been cut from the Native American health service. Trump has a goal in trying to dominate Minneapolis with federal troops, and I reject that agenda completely. We are clear that speaking out against evil is important along with helping our neighbors. On this day, we are reminded about what we should do in our daily lives. We reject gossip, because it is unnecessary and causes a whole of problems in the world from misunderstanding to hatred. We believe in forgiveness. That means that even if we suffer an injustice, we forgive to move forward with our lives. Some folks hold grudges for decades, and those grudges only block blessings and waste time on this Earth that could be used for establishing things more constructive in our lives.
