Some breaking news on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 is that a woman was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. There is video of the incident. The Minneapolis Attorney General has called for an independent probe of the ICE shooting. The increase of ICE harassing our people in America has been clear. ICE has been caught assaulting people, illegally arresting American citizens, assaulting protesters, and trying to seek immunity for their behavior. Many members of ICE has done criminal behavior. Governor Walz had prepared Minnesota's National Guard after the Minneapolis ICE shooting. This tragedy took place where George Floyd was killed. The Trump administration falsely called protesters rioters and claimed that the woman was killed by self-defense (which is a bold face lie). The mayor of the city of Minneapolis said that the Trump's explanation of the killing was nonsense and wanted ICE to get out of his city in profane terms. The actions of ICE has been very troubling. DHS Kristi Noem promotes the justification of the killing of the woman by saying that the woman impeded ICE's actions. Kristi Noem ignores how ICE has assaulted many innocent people and jailed legal citizens. The video contradicts Noem's assertions.
In Portland, Oregon, two people were shot and injured by federal agents. Also, there is the news of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting closing down after Trump attacks. This happened on Monday. The Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) voted to dissolve the 58 year old organizaiton. This comes after the elimination of all federal funding for the agency by Congress after the Trump White House demanded it. The CPB was created in 1967 by the Public Broadcasting Act of 1967. It was created to allow the federal government to invest in public television and radio to protect the independence of public media. It didn't own or operate radio or television stations. It was mandated to assist in sending federal funding and to offer support for the public media system. Trump's attack on the National Public Radio (NRP) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) is about trying to eliminating any dissenting voice of the Trump regime. It is fascist for Trump supporters to stifle free speech against those that disagree with them.'
The House passed a health care subsidies plan with mostly Democrats voting for it with some Republican help too. While this is going on, ICE agents have been caught harassing, assaulting, and killing people in the streets. ICE agents have shot at least nine other people just since September, and one person has died. We have the Justice Department who has weaponized in trying to prosecute the political opponents of Donald Trump. Many corporate CEOs are supporting the agenda of Trump violating our rights, promoting warring regime change agendas, and targeting truth. The far right hypocritically criticize Medicare for All, Social Security, debt free education, and universal childcare as socialism, but wants billions of dollars sent to ICE, allow a refurbishing Trump's Qatar jet, and have tax cuts for the rich. Zohran Mamdani has revived the Mayor's Office to protect tenants and interviewed in a major slumland bankruptcy case on the tenants' behalf. This is a positive development in New York City.
There is more news about the tragedy in Minneapolis over the ICE killing of the 37-year-old woman named Renee Nicole Good. The killing was a deliberate, daylight execution. The unnamed agent was among thousands of ICE agents who were deployed in the city. The agent fired three shots a point-blank range into the vehicle as the vehicle was driving away from the ICE agents. Renee Nicole Good was a poet, a U.S. citizen, and a mother of three. She was driving on Portland Avenue on the city's southside. The video showed Good was gesturing federal vehicles to pass. She was not obstructing any operation. ICE agents refused to allow a physician to administer aid, blocked the ambulance from accessing the scene, and violently suppressed community members and journalists at the location. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem lied and called Good a "domestic terrorist." Trump wants paramilitary occupation of cities and towns in America to promote fascism and authoritarianism not democracy. There must be an independent investigation, but the federal government to trying to impede a state investigation of the killing. While some people have thrown Gatorade to the ICE agents (I don't agree with that as we don't need unjust violence), but the taking of human life must be taken seriously.
The U.S. has seized a Russian flagged tanker and a second Venezuela linked ship. Trump wants Venezuela to be forced against her will to give America a massive amount of it oil production. This has been promoted by two senior White House officials. They want to cut ties with China and other nations. Trump still wants to annex Greenland. Rubio wants to meet with Danish leaders next week in desiring this goal. Many Colombians have protested in saying that they are a sovereign country not a colony. Trump called Colombian leader Petro a sick man who like to make cocaine and sell it in America. Trump said that Petro won't be doing that any longer which is an overt threat. Trump just doesn't Venezuela's oil but its minerals to gain imperial power. The goal of annexing Greenland is complete insane and could ruin the NATO alliance forever.
