Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The pro-life group Bound for Life, known for energizing pro-life students and young adults to cover their mouths with red tape bearing the word "Life," plans protests at the U.S. Supreme Court and state supreme courts across the country on Saturday.
The group expects 600 people at the nation's high court and another 6,000 people in states across the nation.
Matt Lockett, the director of Bound for Life, says the event is a great way to focus attention on the upcoming elections and the abortion battles that will be impacted as a result.
"The elections, war and economic disaster weigh heavily on the minds and shoulders of America, but so does our guilt for the senseless sacrifice of innocent children," he told LifeNews.com Friday.
"Abortion must end. More than anything else America needs to cry out for mercy from God and experience a great awakening," he added.
Members of the group have stood in front of the Supreme Court since the 2004 elections and hope their expanded efforts to state courts will help motivate other pro-life advocates to get involved.
The group doesn't rely on angry protests or harsh words to make their point, but Lockett said silence and the red tape is an effective tool to "speak out" for unborn children who have no voice in the abortion fight.

"They stand not as angry right-wing protestors screaming at anyone and everyone who will listen. Instead, they use silence to speak louder than words," he said.
The pro-life group is asking people to stand at local Supreme Court buildings throughout the day on Sunday and to pray for an end to abortion.
