Sis, not liking YOUR OWN HAIR has nothing to do with being “racist” — you can’t be racist against yourself. No one is saying this rapper can’t have a “preference” BUT when he makes a PUBLIC STATEMENT, the public has a right to voice their opinion.

If you are comparing being “skinny” with not like the hair on your own head (or this rapper’s head), you’re talking about two different things. Nobody ever got LYNCHED, sister, because they were too skinny. Being skinny is NOT a racial characteristic. HAIR IS.

The more posts I read defending this rapper, the more and more convinced I am that some of you know exactly what I’m talking about, because you are protesting too much, mainly because (in my opinion) deep down you KNOW not liking your own hair is MESSED UP, and instead of dealing with that, you have shifted into denial mode.

it’s sad that some black folk can’t admit that black folk have serious HANG-UPS ABOUT OUR HAIR. It is NOT about preference, it’s about BRAINWASHING. It is NOT NORMAL to not like the hair on your own head, and we’re not talking about an individual’s hangup, we’re talking about an entire race of people who have been TAUGHT to dislike themselves. It is NO ACCIDENT that black people have gone from the “conk” to the “Jherri-Curl” to the hair straightening comb, to the “relaxer” and now to unrealistic weaves and blond hair.

If we do not (or will not) look at this hair hang up and ask ourselves why black people spend more on our hair than any single demographic group per our population if we do not have issues with our hair?
