Early August 2023 News.

Now, Trump has been in the courtroom for arraignment. Trump has had his fingerprints taken, and he was in the courtroom with Special Counsel Jack Smith. This is the first time Trump has been taken into custody by the federal government that he planned to overthrow. He is accused of forming a slick plan with others in trying to end the 2020 election as we know it to eliminate democracy as we know it in America. His first arraignment was in March over in the city of Miami over misuse of classified documents. This new arraignment is based in Washington, D.C. Donald Trump is where the crime was committed in Washington, D.C. He was blocks away from the White House. Many protesters, who support or oppose Donald Trump, were near the courthouse too, guarded by a large police presence. Planning to overthrow the government is what Trump and his acolytes did. This fact shouldn't be sugarcoated or omitted despite what any GOP Presidential candidates say. This event shows how Trump should have a trial, experience due process, and experience accountability for his crimes against America. It took a while, but this process is going about. We live in a real moment in our time. This is a time when we face the biggest democratic threat to America since the American Civil War. Many of the criminals who destroyed people and things on January 6th, 2021, just went home just like nothing happened (with many of them only being convicted of their crimes recently). The events on the January 6th insurrection were sedition and treason.

Trump has gone out and pleaded not guilty to the court counts. The arraignment is over. It lasted for 28 minutes. It is longer because specific things have happened. The arraignment judge told Trump that he can't harass witnesses and follow all of the rules in the court. The Trump lawyer wants the venue to be moved from Washington, D.C., but the crime took place in Washington, D.C. The Trump lawyer is desperate to delay the trial for as long as possible. That is the opposite of what a speedy trial consists of. The Trump lawyer is hypocritically wanting the trial to take over a very longer period of time to start. Special Counsel Jack Smith represents the government. The step of discovery during a course of a trial doesn't usually happen during the era of arraignment.

The third indictment of Trump is historic. The arraignment has existed. Trump's lawyer lied and said that Trump has the free speech right to believe in the election lie. The truth is that the indictment has nothing to do with free speech concepts. It has to do with the actions of Trump and his allies working together in a plot to steal the 2020 election as we know it with illegal actions. Special Counsel Jack Smith has made that perfectly clear in his statements to the public. Federal District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan is involved in the case. There is total justification for the prosecution and imprisonment of Trump for his actions leading up to and during the fascistic insurrection of January 6, 2021 (when terrorists wanted to hang Mike Pence and illegally used violence in the U.S. Capitol). Trump trying to overthrow the government by force and maintain himself in the White House as President is treason. No human is above the law. The indictment has 123 paragraphs. Trump made an effort to substitute bogus pro-Trump electors for Biden electors chosen by the voters in the seven states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The unindicted co-conspirators are Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro, an unknown person, etc.

Ukraine has attacked Moscow as the war expands. Russia did an immoral and illegal invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine deserves independence from the Russian invasion. Yet, I don't agree with Ukraine attacking Moscow. The reason is that every Russian isn't responsible for this war, and this act is beyond the scope of self-defense. Drone attacks have stuck downtown Moscow recently. One 42 skyscraper was hit in downtown Moscow. Civilian targets being attacked in Ukraine by Russian military forces is wrong too. Mykhailo Podolayk, an adviser to Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Moscow is rapidly being used to a full-fledged war. In circumstances like this, we have to call for restraint. Both sides should try their best to end this conflict and cause Ukraine independence and make sure that Russian military forces don't invade a sovereign nation unjustly ever again. The war is expanding. Poland's Ministry of Defense claimed that 2 Belarusian military helicopters violated Polish airspace. Poland is a NATO nation. If Poland is attacked, America bounded by NATO Treaty to support Poland. So, these are dangerous times in Europe. Wagner fighters are in Belarus now. About 50,000 Ukrainians have lost one or more limbs since the start of the war in 2022. Therefore, we want Ukraine to be free from Russian invasion, but long term we want a peaceful resolution to this conflict.
