Trump has increased his power grabs. Former Director Financial Protection Bureau, Rohit Chopra talked to CNN about the closing of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The federal government promised that it would reimburse farmers for millions in infrastructure investment, but Trump's funding freeze just left farmers on the hook. Without the CFRB (as Musk has advocated its elimination), giant financial institutions like banks, mortgage lenders, credit card companies, and debt collection companies will have an easier time to get money from the people. The CFPB has returned $20 billion to victims of financial fraud, cracked down on junk fees, fought against politically-motivated debanking, protected veterans from predatory lenders, and protected consumers data from corporate abuse. Oligarchs want all of this to be reversed unjustly. Now, JD Vance on twitter said the lie that judges have no right to control the executive's legitimate power. Yes, it does as the judiciary branch interprets the law and can limit the power of the executive branch if the executive acts illegally. All three branches of government are co-equal as cited by many scholars. No President should act as a king. Trump refusing to be bound by the federal courts makes him an authoritarian. No human is above the law.
The agenda of Trump and Elon Musk is clear. They want an acceleration of the decline of the federal government, including firing federal workers, in making a weak national government along with corporate power to increase with domination of the people (along with banning even legitimate regulations). They want an oligarchy where the executive branch has supreme power over the people in a radical privatized fashion. The truth is that the three branches of government are co-equal. Trump believes that he is above the law and abhors court decisions who keep him in check. A judge tells Trump to restore grant and loan payments. Trump has removed a top government ethics czar, wants to impose a 25 percent tariff on steel and aluminum, and said that Palestinians won't have a right to return to Gaza under his redevelopment plan. So, Trump is an enemy of truth and democracy completely. The government has a duty of public service and promote the public welfare to serve the people. I believe in a strong federal government to protect the environment, protect the rights of workers, promote civil rights, protect our civil liberties, defend a progressive economy, and enforce justice for all people, regardless of color or background.
Elon Musk is acting like a co-President. His DOGE group (which desires to massively cut the Department of Education and other legitimate social programs) is getting the data of Americans illegally to try to promote overreach and lawless behavior. Musk wants to impeach judges who follow the law rejecting Musk's agenda. Trump allies want Trump to resist the policies of the courts. That is fascism not democracy. The judiciary is a co-equal branch with the executive branch which means that the President's decrees can be banned by the courts if those decrees are found to be unconstitutional. Also, Trump wants Palestinians to be barred from returning to Gaza after ethnic cleansing. This contradicts the White House Press Secretary Karoline Keavitt's statement that the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza, proposed by Trump would be temporary. Trump wants Palestinians to be sent to Egypt and Jordan when both nations reject such evil proposals. Israeli far-right extremists like Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz agree with Trump's proposals. Trump wants all hostages released on Saturday or something else will happen. To date, 47,583 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks according to a recent study published in The Lancet, estimating the death toll could be 70,000 or more. MAGA hypocrites talk about wars, but Trump advances war mongering policies, colonialism, racism, and land theft.
Yesterday was 13 years after the passing away of Whitney Houston. She was the greatest vocalist of our generation and the top 5 greatest vocalist in human history. She sang music with passion and vigor. She was a real Sister from Newark, New Jersey whose family were involved in gospel, opera, R&B, and other forms of music. I remember her passing in February 2012 being shocked as I watched the news on CNN. She was Cissy's baby. Cissy Houston is her mother. Whitney Houston was raised in the gospel culture of New Jersey, which is up North. Later, she made her debut album in the 1980s to ascend into massive stardom. No one is like Whitney, and no one can duplicate her legacy. Cultural anthems and gospel songs consume her discography. Also, beyond music, she loved her child, she loved to talk to people, and she was a family-oriented woman. She was The Voice. She sold over 240 million records worldwide. She can crossover into pop and go into R&B at the same time.
She helped to grow R&B music into the next level and break down many gender and racial barriers in musical culture. She gave mentorship to modern day legends like Monica, Jordin Sparks, and Brandy. Whitney Houston's rendition of I'm Every Woman showed the grace, beauty, and power of women, especially black women who go through a lot of injustices as we all know. Yet, the spirit of the Lord is always infallible to give understanding and grace to uplift our people to achieve mighty accomplishments. She wasn't just a singer. She was an actress, film producer, model, record producer, philanthropist, and television presenter. She produced the film Sparkle with the singer Jordin Sparks. She was involved in The Preacher's Wife in 1996. She co-produced films like Cinderella, Princess Diaries, and The Cheetah Girls. From My Love is Your Love to Shoop Shoop, Whitney was amazing with her talent. Whitney Houston gave inspiration and confidence to our people to see that glory relates to humbleness and talent is always sacrosanct in blessing our neighbors.
