One of the most important events in our time is the conviction of Keefe D. It has been almost 30 years since Tupac Shakur was murdered by cowards, but Keffe D has been convicted in under 3 hours. The trial lasted for weeks, and the Tupac family became very emotional when the verdict was read. Duane "Keffe D" Davis was found guilty of first guilty degree murder. This verdict came on Monday. He was found guilty of plotting the 1996 killing of Tupac near the Las Vegas Strip. The prosecution called Davis a leader of the South Side Compton Crips who wanted to hunt for Shakur. Davis denies murdering Tupac and said that his memoir was fiction, and he said that the prosecution lacked direct evidence. In various interviews, Keffe D bragged about being involved in killing Tupac and mocking his shooting as Tupac breakdancing in the car. Keffe D plans to appeal the decision. Judge Carli Kierney is scheduled to sentence Davis on October 13, 2026. He could face life in prison without the possibility of parole. Tupac died when I was in the start of the 8th grade of middle school. I remembered that time just like yesterday. It was a tragic, surreal time. The lesson here is that murder is always wrong, and we should stand up for justice and accountability even if it takes years and decades.
Recently, CIA Director Ratcliffe went to Moscow to tell Putin to not wage war on NATO countries. Yet, Putin is personally on a mission to conquer Ukraine illegally and possibly Eastern Europe. He allowed Russian military forces to attack Poland recently. Putin wants to test NATO’s unity because he wants Russia to expand its reach even beyond Ukraine. Putin from Russia has been involved in terrorism including war crimes against the Ukrainian people, airspace violations, cyber-attacks, and assassinations, even jailing Russian dissidents. Secret provocations by Russia exist in Europe. For example, a Russian warship used live-fire exercises in the English Channel, possible Russian drones with explosives were at the airport in Leipzig-Halle, Germany, and Russian forces have been caught in cyber-attacks worldwide. While this is going on, Iran’s judiciary chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei threatened a more forceful crackdown on any renewed anti-government protests. Also, we know that Belarus is a client state of Putin.
I am glad that more black people are calling out Laura Loomer on her racist nonsense against Angie Nixon, Cori Bush, Ihan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Loomer is the personification of the MAGA movement. Loomer is a MAGA follower filled with racism and obscene rhetoric. She is a far-right person who glorifies the white racist mediocrity found in Donald Trump. She is too ignorant to reality that ghetto is a location, not a personality, a specific character, or a state of being. The hypocrite Loomer claims to support respectability politics, but she is very obscene, racist, vulgar, and bigoted, which is the opposite of the characteristics of honor and integrity. This racist Loomer said that maybe Angie must be on a leach. This is disgusting from Loomer. Now, Trump is targeting NBC's Welker over her accurate reporting, so Trump is anti-free speech against people who disagree with him.
The same deficit hawks who lecture others about how we supposedly can’t pay for singer payer Medicare for all omit how we have record debt by tax cuts for the super wealthy (established by the Bush and Trump administrations), say nothing on administrative costs, and they say nothing on ending imperialistic, unjust wars. Ending such wars would save billions of dollars at least in revenues that can be used to invest in American society. Our ratio to debt to GDP would be better if progressive economic policies existed. 62 years ago today, the Food Stamp Act was signed into law. The program helped millions of people, especially children, access affordable food. This changed when Trump and the Republicans gutted it with their bill. The myth is that everyone using food stamps are freeloaders. The truth is that the vast majority of people on SNAP work hard. Many people who have SNAP are elderly, children, and those with severe disabilities (among human beings who can’t work). 15.7 million households work and need SNAP benefits to feed their families (including 1⁄4 of Amazon workers when Bezos is a billionaire. Many corporations pay workers so little that workers struggle to survive). Trump and Republican cut SNAP massively causing 4 million people including 1 million children being in risk of losing their benefits. This is cruelty and the richest one percent evade 160 billion dollars in taxes every year. You can increase the federal minimum wage, crack down on big corporations that pay CEOs hundreds of times more than workers, and deal with the affordability crisis (to invest in education, childcare, and fight poverty).
In the state of Texas, far-right Republican extremists want to cut polling sites in a major Texas county. It has caused protests as the Senate race continues. This plan has been opposed by Democrats who say that reductions could cause confusion in the November midterm elections. Texas Republicans want to cut polling locations in Tarrant County, which borders Dallas and includes Fort Worth. Tarrant County would have 92 fewer polling locations on Election Day than it did during the 2022 midterms. The NAACP, the ACLU, and voting rights groups signed a letter to call on the county to reject the proposal. This plan is nothing more than a slick plan of voter suppression, and it will increase the burden for people to vote. While this is going on, Trump approval rating is 32 percent, and prices are high in many arenas.
