RU486 and the Nazi connection

I have been looking at a few things that might be of interest concerning the connection between the RU-486 human insecticide and the trail it leads to the concentration camps gas Zyklon B. I know a lot of things have been implied about there being a connection, but I really want to define the connection for Covenant News readers with the hope that others will wake up and see that once a company has trodden the path of human extermination, it doesn't take much to compel them down that path again. Maybe, just by chance, the hearts of a few will be pricked by the idea that this new "miracle drug" is nothing different than the old "miracle drug" that Zyklon B was to the Nazis.

I guess when you are in the death business the most efficient murder drug would be considered a miracle drug. One thing for sure is that we can rub this RU-486 history into the faces of those who propose the murder of the innocent and show them to be the Nazis that they obviously are.

The Players

1. Roussel Uclaf: In 1980 a group of French scientists synthesized a molecule that chemically resembles the hormone progesterone. This molecule has a unique ability to bond to the progesterone receptor cells and block their normal activity. The result of the molecule's activity then is to block the body's use of the hormone progesterone which is vital to maintaining a pregnancy. The drug first entered the spotlight in 1982 and the controversy erupted shortly after. In 1988, after extensive testing, the French government accepted Mifepristone for public use. The drug is now commonly known as RU-486, the name assigned by the inventor company, Roussel Uclaf, a division of the chemical company Hoechst AG. The "RU" is for Roussel Uclaf, and 486 was the chosen introduction date, April, 1986.

2. Hoechst AG: The Hoechst AG company is a company that came about as a result of the split of another German company after the dust had settled and the monsters of the Holocaust became more evident. The trials that resulted from the war crimes of WWII resulted in the forced break-up of a German chemical company called I.G. Farben. I.G. Farben was broken up into several smaller companies. I.G. Farben was broken up because they were complicit in many ways as criminals of notoriety during war crimes investigations.

3. I.G. Farben: I.G. Farben was the name of the company that was responsible for many of the things that the holocaust has become known for. Without the active partnership with I.G. Farben, Hitler would never have risen to power and prominence in the Chancellery of Germany. In 1932 I.G. gave Adolf Hitler its full support during the election which resulted in Hitler being presented with the Chancellorship of Germany. Without the support of I.G. Farben, and the rest of the German monopolies and cartels, Hitler could not have won his political fight. The German industrialists could see that without Hitler their empires would crumble.

I. G. Farben

During WWII I.G. Farben produced all of Germany's synthetic rubber, lubricating oil, synthetic gasoline, the largest bulk of explosives, 90% of the plastics, and light metals. More often than any other corporation I.G. sat in the center of a web of international cartel agreements. I.G. participated in the plundering of other nations including Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Norway, Holland, Belgium, France and the rest of Central Europe. I.G. took control over every chemical plant of importance in the countries conquered by the Nazi Empire. I.G. played an important role in adapting the industries of those countries to the purposes of the Nazi war machine.

I.G. Farben ran the Buna Rubber Works at Auschwitz as a result of opening a corporate concentration camp known as Monowitz on May 21, 1945. I.G. Farben used slave labor extensively in many of their factories throughout the Nazi Empire (of special note is the "Auschwitz Diet" of the synthetic rubber plant there at Auschwitz. Read the Auschwitz Diet article for further explanation).

I.G. Farben had a big part in developing chemical/gas warfare. Toxic gases were produced at Hoechst AG, AFGA, and Leverkusen plants. I.G. produced fully 95% of the poison gas for Germany. It was called Zyklon B, a commercial form of hydrocyanic acid, which actively forms a gas upon contact with air. It was manufactured by a firm called Degesch which was largely owned by I.G. Farben, and had been brought to Auschwitz in the summer of 1941 as a vermin killer and disinfectant.

Inhumane Acts

In 1945, when the International Military Tribunal was announced and began trying Nazi officials for crimes committed during WWII, and the list of crimes on which one could be indicted were as follows:

(1) Conspiracy to commit charges 2, 3, and 4, which are listed here; (2) crimes against peace -- defined as participation in the planning and waging of a war of aggression in violation of numerous international treaties; (3) war crimes -- defined as violations of the internationally agreed upon rules for waging war; and (4) crimes against humanity -- "namely, murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation, and other inhumane acts committed against any civilian population, before or during the war; or persecution on political, racial, or religious grounds in execution of or in connection with any crime within the jurisdiction of the Tribunal, whether or not in violation of domestic law of the country where perpetrated."

On July 29, 1948, sentences for mass murder and slavery were handed down at the Nuremberg trials to twelve I.G. Farben executives. The longest one, seven years, was meted out to Dr. Fritz ter Meer, a top executive and scientist on the I.G. Farben managing board. After WWII, I.G. Farben was liquidated and companies like Bayer, Hoechst AG, BASF, and AFGA took its place.

In 1949, less than a year after the Nuremberg Trials had ended, Hoechst AG opened a branch in Brazil. The company offered the whole representation of products in Brazil by establishing Pontosan Productos Quimicos, Farmcuticose e Aniilianas and appointed Wilhelm Kurtz as President. The company rapidly expanded and manufactures products ranging from pharmaceuticals to welding and cutting equipment. In 1995 Pontosan Productos Quimicos, Farmcuticose e Aniilianas acquired the company Anilsud, formerly owned by Hoechst Argentina, forming an Argentine branch. Today, Pontosan Productos Quimicos, Farmcuticose e Aniilianas renamed Hoechst Commercial, is one of the leading companies for the distribution of chemicals in Brazil.

Hoechst International is headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany with branches in Asia, Oceania and America. Hoechst employs more than 145,000 people. Hoechst is one of the largest groups in the chemical industry, with sales of approximately US$ 13,158 in DM billions for the first quarter of 1997.
