Doctors at Fairfax Inova and Johns Hopkins have diagnosed 26-year-old Desiree Jennings of Ashburn, Virginia with a rare neurological disorder called dystonia after she suffered a rare side effect to the seasonal flu shot. She received the flu shot at a local grocery store on August 23, 2009. Ten days later, she came down with the flu. After that, her health spiraled downward. She started passing out and was hospitalized twice. Desiree now has difficulty speaking, walking, and even eating. During an interview with FOX 5 DC, she had several seizures. The effects are irreversible.
