The Poor Don’t Pay Taxes?
March 2, 2010 by Keith Gardner

Neal Boortz is full of himself.

All self-employed and employed workers, regardless of income, pay 15% of their income to the various Social Security programs. There are usually a variety of other hidden taxes, such as unemployment insurance.

All consumers, regardless of income, pay various corporate, sales, excise, and other taxes associated with the cost of doing business when they purchase a product.

75% of the price of cigarettes is considered hidden and transparent taxation. 50% of the price of a car is considered hidden and transparent taxation. A person who smokes two packs per day is paying over $2000/year in taxes just to smoke, often subsidizing the Social Security income and Medicare expenses of elderly non-smokers. A person who drives to work is paying a lot of taxes. If they rent, they’re paying various hidden taxation related to property as well. There are many taxes the poor pay.

Furthermore, the rich are the ones receiving the tax revenue. They buy U.S. treasury bonds and collect interest on the national debt from the tax payer. They are paying themselves while the poor are paying the taxes to support the lifestyles of the bond holders and the various special interests, again, at the benefit of the rich. The rich don’t pay as much taxes as they lead you to believe for the value of their labor. They rig the game in their favor, and then, pretend like they are the poorest and most hard-working people on the planet. They are hard at work scamming you.

To say the poor don’t pay taxes is utter nonsense. They pay a lot since every dollar they earn is spent on things loaded with taxes with none of that tax revenue coming back to them unless they work honestly for it.

Neal Boortz is yet another Neocon Communist posing as a Libertarian, trying to promote the redistribution of wealth from the poor to the rich throught the State, a mere lapdog for trillionaire and billionaire Welfare Queens.
