Contrary to Mitt’s patently deceitful rhetoric and the Republican plan to repeal the 20th century, under Obama, Americans have seen less corporate regulation , 22 consecutiv e months of private sector job growth, consistent GDP expansion, improved stock market valuation, shrinkage in home foreclosur es, increased bank earnings and the highest ratio of profit to worker wages in 60 years, yet Republican s continue to chip away at making the middleclas s extinct, as evidenced by Republican s refusing to continue Obama’s payroll tax deduction, which accounts for families receiving an additional $1,500 per year in deposable income. Under the Bush tax cuts, the average tax cut for the top 2% in 2010 was $67,891; conversely , the average income for the bottom 98% in 2010 was $39,239. Republican s want to keep unemployme nt high because history has shown that incumbent presidents don’t get reelected when unemployme nt is high, which is why Republican s are obstructin g every job creation bill introduced by Obama, while opting instead to pass 244 bills that rename government buildings, federal parks and post offices after fellow Republican s. Guided by Grover Norquist, in their latest piece of obstructio nism, Republican s voted against levying a paltry .7% tax increase on 300,000 millionair es, a move that would have generated the revenue needed to create 600,000 constructi on/infrast ructure repair jobs. Since 2009, Republican s have blocked 491 bills specifical ly designed to increase revenue and create jobs. During the decade Republican s controlled congress, tax revenue decreased 57%, the number of Americans living in poverty rose to 1-in-3 (in Georgia, Newt’s home state, 1-in-4 children live in poverty), and unemployme nt soared to 8.6%, while government spending increased 54%, topping out at $11.4 trillion.
