Unfortunately, you are ASSUMING affirmative action is a "hustle" to select unqualified, ill prepared, and second rate students......This a common automatic assumption of many racists, not to say you are necessarily racist.
Nothing can be further from the truth about the intent of Affirmative action.
Affirmative action is more about using a holistic approach to selecting students, considering that certain groups of students historically have been "shut out" of the selection process, and the likelihood that students from the same minority group may be presently ""shut out" based on the much greater number of applicants from the majority group.......THE HIGH QUALIFICATION OF ALL ACCEPTABLE APPLICANTS, IS A GIVEN!
Keep in mind that selecting excellent students for a school or certain programs does not ONLY involve "quantitative considerations."
Selecting students can involve several sets of criteria, different criteria for different schools, is part math, part art, part guessing, and is subjective. Sometimes an applicant may be a better student or more likely to successfully complete a curriculum with a 3.4 GPA than one with a 3.7 GPA.

I shudder when I think of multiplication tables. My father wrote all the tables out by hand up to 12. He would ask me to recite a particular table when he got home from work. And Lexe, it was the most stressing thing of my childhood. But my father also knew algebra...there was no bacon sandwich at home when it came to school. And talk about report cards -- I had to do well, that belt was waiting for me.
And I don't see any young ones with books in their hands. Not even the bling bling drug dealer books some black writers have written. Not even the black romance books. Not even the paper.

NO!!! The ONLY way to correct "yesterday's errors" is acknowledge it, atone for it, and stop doing it. That can't occur until whites come to terms with themselves and white supremacy ends. Everything else is ALL game and spin. In the capitalistic society we exist under, it's all about money which incorporates supply and demand. The more Black and latino's with college degrees the less resources are available for the dominate culture(whites). As a result, many communities are attempting to reinstate segregated schools. One white businessman in my area attempted to negate the usual argument against segregated schools(Inferior teachers/learning material in Black schools)by promising school officials that HE would personally ensure Black schools had the same materials as white schools if segregated schools were allowed(An impossibility for a small businessman). The GOP has long attacked higher education for Blacks by attacking Pell grants, racial or economic preferences, etc. Gov. Romney said people should ask their parents for money to go to college, knowing full well that poor parents can't afford tuition. The end result? Only whites, especially rich whites, should go to college and hold societies elite positions. The real argument is if even ONE white is denied admission the whole program should be scrapped(Talk about white supremacy!!!). Another argument is that employers(code for white)look down on Blacks as being unqualified due to affirmative action. However, most Blacks know whites are not qualified for many of positions but are given preference because of skin color, or lack thereof. A resent study found that white men with criminal records have the SAME odds of landing a job as a Black man without a record. Under white supremacy, everything must begin and end with white interests first(education, jobs, housing, etc). Again, we know how to correct "yesterday's errors" but whites have NO real interest in doing so.

We SHOULD do a lot of things that we don't, including non-judgement based skin color or appearance. But we CAN'T because white supremest indoctrination and ideology won't allow it. I didn't mention reparations in my post though I do support it. If it's rational to give reparations to other groups, why is it suddenly SO wrong to do the same for Blacks? Unless you are not sorry for the institution slavery which is the hidden root of problem. The fact of the matter is, MOST whites are not sorry for slavery. Under white supremacy ideology, whites had a "right" through divine manifestation, to rule and control the globe. Why would you be sorry or atone for slavery when you BELIEVE it is your right to enslave? There is not a "few" bad people(racists) as you seem to imply. It is a SYSTEM that favors white and whiteness ABOVE all others. The justice system, health care system, employment system, economic system, housing, education, etc. ALL favor whites by simple virtue of being white. When I see you speaking out on white "privilege" I might give your comments weight.
