There is the historic partial release of the Georgia grand jury report on Trump and the 2020 election (in late February of 2023). Trump went to Georgia in trying to steal the Georgia election results with Meadows. That is why now, Meadows is being subpoenaed by the Special Counsel. Now, the DOJ with Jack Smith is catching up to Meadows, Trump, Guiliani, and other people in support of the election lie. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney ordered the limited release of this report. So far, no individuals are listed by name in the document. The portions are just nine pages. The special grand jury concluded unanimously that there was no widespread voter fraud in Georgia. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said that if anyone is guilty, then that person will be charged. The special grand jury recommended that Attorney Fani Willis consider indicting some witnesses for perjury. Obviously, their names aren't mentioned for now (as the current investigation is ongoing). 75 witnesses were involved in the Georgia election fraud probe. Charges can come soon possibly.
The first year after the war in Ukraine is coming up soon on February 24. We know that war is no fictional tale. Many people die in war, including innocent civilians and civilian infrastructure all of the time. The common myth is that Russia is innocent of the war. In reality, Russia initiated the invasion by using a pre-emptive invasion of Ukraine. Putin denies the existence of Ukraine in his many speeches. Ukrainian schools, hospitals, and daycare centers were targeted by Russian forces. NATO and Western elites have done mistakes involving wars spanning decades. Yet, two wrongs don't make it right. Therefore, we have to go about showing the truth. There is nothing wrong with being anti-war and anti-imperialist. There is a problem with lying about the viciousness of a far-right state like Russia is. We should be careful to reject the view that capitalists have the unrestrained right to exploit the working class. Some far-right people want to eliminate income taxes, end minimum wage laws, end unemployment insurance, and end Social Security. That is wrong. Some want to ally with the far right to be anti-war. I reject that view because we don't need to ally with far-right people (who hate black people, Jewish people, and other social minorities) in fighting for justice.
Thousands of protesters in Florida have come out to oppose Florida DeSantis trying to sugarcoat and whitewash AP African American studies. In Florida, and in other states alone, even regular books about black history (even books about civil rights) are banned from being taught by teachers. Teachers in Florida are afraid of losing their jobs. It's that bad. Also, we know that far-right extremists use the term "woke" as a means to bash movements for social equality and justice. People need to know about Rosewood, the Tulsa Massacre of 1921, and the movement for reparations for black Americans (that has existed for over 120 years in America). In Tallahassee, Florida (or the capital of Florida), many students are about to sue DeSantis over the AP African American History issue.
The $2.7 billion lawsuit against FOX News made by Dominion Company (voting company) over claims that FOX lied about stealing election claims. The lawsuit goes after Rudy Guiliani, Mara Bartiromo Lew Dobbs, Jeanine Pirro, etc. FOX is run by the Murdoch media empire. This is a serious lawsuit. FOX News has a lot of money, but a lawsuit with this much money at stake is very important. Rudy Guiliani lied and said that Venezuela worked with Dominion Voting Systems to steal the 2020 election. Bartiromo knows better because I remember her being a business journalist back in the early 2000's. Now, she allies with ideological far-right extremists. Smartmatic wants justice too.
Yesterday was the Birthday of Brother LeVar Burton, and he is 66 years old. For decades, he has been part of the PBS hit show of Reading Rainbow. I remember watching Reading Rainbow as a child back in the late 1980s and the 1990's. He was born in Landstuhl, West Germany as his father was in the U.S. military. His mother was a social worker, administrator, and educator. Later, Burton was raised in Sacramento, California with her 2 sisters. He acted by the time he was 19 years old. He starred in the film Roots back in 1977 which changed black TV forever. He was in Roots: The Gift in 1988. He hosted Reading Rainbow from 1983 to 2006. This program helped to explain childhood literacy for a long time. He has the LeVar Burton Kids and the iPAD app, Skybrary. He was on Star Trek: The Next Generation for years too. He played Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the film Ali. He directed many shows of JAG, Las Vegas, and Soul Food: The Series. Burton is on the board of directors for the Directors Guild of America too. He loves his wife Stephanie Cozart and their 3 children. The family lives in Sherman Oaks, California. I wish Brother LeVar Burton more Blessings.
