Smearing people who are skeptical about man-made causes of global warming as akin to Holocaust deniers was apparently not enough for the climate cult alarmists, who are now saying that if you disagree with them you're no better than infamous Austrian pedophile and rapist Josef Fritzl.
If you're looking for a logical explanation behind the comparison then stop now because there isn't one. This is merely the latest chapter in a manifestly ludicrous smear campaign against anyone who dares challenge the orthodoxy of the church of environmentalism.
"The Bishop of Stafford, Gordon Mursell, wrote in a parish letter that not confronting global warming meant people were "as guilty as" Josef Fritzl," reports the BBC.
"In fact you could argue that, by our refusal to face the truth about climate change, we are as guilty as he is - we are in effect locking our children and grandchildren into a world with no future and throwing away the key," Mursell added.

Josef Fritzl is the recently arrested monster who kept his wife and three of their children locked in a windowless underground basement for 24 years as he raped and abused them.
The slur is deliciously ironic, since a sizeable majority of global warming skeptics actually care about the real environmental issues - GM crops, the disappearance of honey bees and bats across the world, deforestation and mad scientist genetic splicing - the very subjects that are ignored while climate alarmism swallows up all the concern and funding.
Meanwhile, global warming alarmists want to cut down old growth forests and poison the air with sulphur in order to "solve the problem" of climate change. Who are the real environmentalists? Who really cares about the earth and not the greedy imposition of a leviathan taxation scam that will line the pockets of governments and transnational oil companies and do nothing to solve global warming even if you believe it's a threat in the first place?
In November 2006 we predicted that those who question man-made global warming would soon be smeared as Holocaust deniers. At the time we were being somewhat tongue-in-cheek but the prediction actually came true just a few months later.
In February 2007, the Boston Globe's Ellen Goodman wrote an op-ed denouncing anyone who dared dissent against the God-like authoritative status of the UN IPCC report on climate change, stating, "Global warming deniers are now on a par with Holocaust deniers".
Since the last recluse of people who are losing a debate is often ad hominem smears and name-calling then global warming skeptics should welcome the Bishop's hare-brained rant as a sign that we are winning the argument.

Indeed, such outbursts are ensuring that whatever credibility climate change alarmists had left is dwindling fast.
In March of last year presidential candidate John Edwards said that global warming would make world war look like heaven. It being highly unlikely that Edwards fought in either of last century's world wars, he can only be fixing his premonition around an expected casualty figure of over 19 million human deaths as a result of potential a short term temperature increase of less than one degree.
The next month, singer Sheryl Crow demanded that we all use one square of toilet paper per bathroom visit to help save the planet. Shortly after her ridiculous comments, the Smoking Gun website uncovered documents showing Crow's touring requirements, which include three tractor trailers, four buses and six cars. I don't even drive a car, so to be lectured about what I can and can't do after I take a shit is a bit rich coming from someone whose "carbon footprint" is bigger than King Kong's treads.
At the British premiere of his movie Wild Hogs last year, actor John Travolta urged everyone to "do their bit" to fight global warming, warning that "We have to think about alternative methods of fuel."
I fly commercial perhaps once every two years for a brief holiday. Travolta has five private jets parked in his runway (pictured above), has produced an estimated 800 tons of carbon emissions, 100 times more than the average person in the last year, is a "serving ambassador" for the Australian airline Qantas and named his son Jett as a tribute to his love of flying. So when Travolta lectures me about "doing my bit" forgive me for taking it with a pinch of salt.
Al Gore is the messiah for the climate change fanatics and his error-strewn polemic An Inconvenient Truth, has been dispatched to every British school on orders of the government, so that kids may be forcefully brainwashed into accepting that man-made global warming is as much a reality as the surveillance cameras, metal detectors and biometric scanning for lunches that they have to endure as part of their "education."
Gore's 20 room private mansion uses 20 times the national U.S. average of gas and electricity, as the former VP lavishes himself in his heated swimming pool while poor people and the middle class await the onslaught of carbon taxes to eviscerate any disposable income they have left in the wake of soaring gas prices and food inflation.
Shortly after John Edwards' tirade, two global warming adherents, Professors Paul Hardaker and Chris Collier, warned their own choir to stop preaching doomsday scenarios about global warming, recognizing that the hysteria has eroded a lot of credibility the man-made camp had built.
This admonition came too late because the fallacy of man-made global warming is already running out of steam for two reasons.
One - the hysteria will only get louder because man-made advocates have a dearth of facts to base their alarmism on and always have to resort to fearmongering and name-calling.
Two - as we progress further into the 21st century and the much vaunted eco-apocalypse never arrives, and temperatures in fact show a cooling trend over the next ten years, the alarmists will begin to look increasingly stupid and untrustworthy.
It is at this point that man-made global warming will hold as much legitimacy as the 1970's global cooling scare does in hindsight - absolutely none whatsoever.
Since the dawn of time and spanning across civilizations, people in positions of power have usurped power and control over their subjects by claiming that only through yielding to their whims will protection be granted from a shadowy future threat. Unfortunately for the control freaks that have hijacked the environmental movement to push their agenda, the people are beginning to see through the fraud en masse.
