Speaking on Friday to graduates of Texas A&M University, President Bush told them that character is more important than popularity. Well, how he would know? He enjoys neither. “If you go home at night, look in the mirror and be satisfied that you have done what is right, you will pass the only test that matters.” It’s such a relief to hear the man who professed his abiding Christian faith finally come clean that he is, in actual practice, a religious Humanist.

Trees are strong alright and deep-rooted, but his self-professed “character” is not nearly as sturdy as those mighty oaks in Louisana or Mississippi. That must have been easy for him to say as he has shown that he has no conscience.
When speaking about his time as president of the United States he quipped, “Some days have been happy, some days not so happy. Every day joyous.” Well, it’s a good thing he’s had joyous days, as I’d be willing to bet that any of the murdered, maimed or DU-birth deformed children in Iraq or Afghanistan would trade any of their days with him!


Such a shallow excuse for what passes for “introspection” is an affront to the almost million human beings killed or displaced in wars of aggression he has started, and certainly won’t put help bread on table of those who are quickly running out of Federal Reserve Notes with which to feed their families.

Instead of addressing any of the myriad mistakes he’s made during his time in office (he doesn’t believe he has made any), the disastrous shape of the economy, the enormous loss of jobs or the real prospect that the graduates to whom he was speaking may have as one of their too-few options to become cannon-fodder for the international bankers and their New World Order, he exercised his usual levity: “To those of you with jobs lined up, congratulations. To those of you not exactly sure what comes next, I know how you feel.”
Somehow, I don’t think he does.

He cautioned the graduates not to accept the counsel of someone who recommends “something that’s more popular.”
But as with all the messages from ‘The Powers That Be’ spoken down to us useless eaters it’s, “Do as I say, not as I do.”
