I do agree with you though, The Country started going downhill with Reagan. Clinton and I guess to an extent Bush 41 were the better presidents of the last 30 years but even they have a part in all the problems we face today.,W. injected all of Reagan's policies with steroyds and ran the country into a ditch, and Obama, for the most part, picked up where Bush/Cheney left off.

Obama wants to allow tax rates to return to the Clinton era rates that created 23 million jobs & a boom economy.
The big deficit you complain about is entirely due the Republican policies that got us into this recession. The Bush tax cuts not only got us into this mess, but they are the reason that Bush doubled the National Debt.

JFK hardly "backed down." He showed force at the wall in Berlin via massing troops & tanks; he placed our military at full nuclear alert in the CMC causing "the cccp" to back down (READ YOUR HISTORY) & thru strength was able to peacefully negotiate a settlement even while the CIA & JCOS did all they could to make the conflict go hot. And if you read his June 11, 1963 address, his use of U.S. martials & his Civil Rights legislation proposal (passed after his death) yes, he CHAMPIONED that cause.

JFK was President for less than 3 years.He delt with the steel companies when they increased the price of steel. He signed the Test Ban Treaty which saved our atmosphere. He put the civil rights bill in congress and donated all his salary to charity. No President has ever done that. RFK did the same thing & his salary was a lot less. He saved us from nuclear war, cracked down on the mob and Hoffa. I've already mentioned Vietnam. He was nothing like the Bush's. A lot of people loved him.
As president, JFK indicted & convicted more mob figures than all other presidents combined. Nixon, as prez, wrote more Executive pardons for mafiosi than any other Chief Exec. You have a woeful misconception of John Kennedy's political beliefs. Read "A Nation of Immigrants," "The Strategy of Peace," "To Turn the Tide," "The Burden & The Glory," "Profiles in Courage," & "Why England Slept." JFK was 100% a Democrat in the tradition of the party's founder, Thomas Jefferson, as well as Jackson, with elements of Wilson & FDR. He has NOTHING in common with today's G.O.P.
